It looks so good and all the nostalgia that this is going to bring about <3 NPH looks perfect for the role, not really paid any attention to Nexflix series' prior to this but so excited for this now!

So good seeing 'The Miserable Mill' in there, knowing that we get a new book adapted!

Looks really, really good and still really cannot wait to see it! Still not sure about NPH and the guy playing Lemony Snicket though, I wasn't keen on that hourglass joke. Obviously, Olaf is theatrical but I feel both adapatations are exaggerating it too much, slightly losing the horrible villainous aspect.

I really just feel like there's too few episodes for this, I'd like the seasons to be longer than they are going to be. Two episodes per book just doesn't sound like it can do them justice for me, but am I alone in that? Maybe if it were longer it'd drag horribly.

I think it depends how long the episodes are but I think two episodes per book is perhaps fine for now, especially with the books being relatively short. Hopefully, they might increase the episode per book count as it goes on.

I've never read any of these books but after watching that trailer I feel I really should!

This one will be going straight to my watch list when it is released.

Was not expecting them to make it a comedy! So excited!
Also, I demand Carmelita Spats is included. She was such a bitch in the books

Alas she's not in it until book 5 so that'll have to wait until series 2!

I am relatively okay with the first few books having 2 episodes per book since they're all relatively simple/short but the later ones deserve a much better ratio once we get into the stage where it gets seriously dark.

That ending of Episode 1.... WHAT?!?

It was so good overall, really faithful to the books and the larger time for each book allows for it to go at the right pace rather than rushing like the movie might have done. NPH wasn't as bad as I was expecting, they basically put his most theatrical moments in the trailer aside from that musical number of course, he's actually a better fit for Olaf than I originally thought.

Love the little Easter Eggs relating to characters and events for later novels, such as the deadly fungus and

Lemony being in the underground tunnel that connects all the VFD houses with signs pointing to Quagmire and Spats

.

It seems like there are going three series from something I've just read. The next series covers Books 5-9 and the final one covers Books 10-13. Hopefully they still do at least two episodes for each! They also need to film them quickly before the children grow up!

I was so excited by the appearance of

Cobie Smulders

due to

her connection with NPH through HIMYM

!!

I've watched the first book so far and it's not disappointing, it's great how faithful it's remaining to the source material (the movie messing with the ordering was just wrong) whilst also expanding. The humour is on point and Sunny is my fave. Neil Patrick Harris is PERFECT as Olaf.

Ha, what better date for this to drop than Friday the 13th.

Been sooo long since I've read the books so can't really remember it, but from the first episode, the characterisations are spot on (dunno if Neil Patrick Harris is as convincing as Jim Carrey yet but I'll wait and see), Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket is great in particular. Do hope it darkens the tone in later episodes but they've certainly got a good balance thus far.

Seen both of The Bad Beginning parts and it was bloody brilliant! Manages to be both faithful to the books but confident enough to embellish/expand on the universe to keep it fresh so it doesn't just feel like an extended telling of the books as well as throw in easter eggs for the people who loved the books

like the VFD stuff and Olaf's reference to the sugarbowl

.

NPH does it a lot less cartoony than Jim Carey and in the first few minutes it was a little jarring but by the second episode his performance fits in perfectly with the darker, more fourth wall breaking style they're going for. Overall, an excellent start!

Watched the first five earlier, I'm enjoying it but finding it kinda slow going, maybe things will pick up soon though... Sunny completly steals the whole thing though, episode five was my fave purelynfor that baby's facial expressions towards the aunt
