January 29, 20169 yr Author Thanks for that. It's interesting that the only two acts to do it without any special circumstances (death or the Beatles remasters) did so at a time when the albums market was a lot smaller and there was a shorter gap between releases. The three Elvis albums all entered the chart for the first time in a three-month period, while the oldest of the three George Mitchell releases was only a year old. Without a significant change in release patterns (or a renewed willingness by record labels to give acts more than one chance, potentially leading to a sudden interest in the back catalogue), I can't see it happening "naturally" again.
