#76, another ungrateful position. "Superhero" was awesome.

Yeah I remember hearing about that story. It's not like Best Friend had any big chance of becoming a huge hit, I dont recall it having any big promo or radio support.

No I don't think they did any TVs and naturally it would never have got any radio support, but it was massive on The Box and should've really gone top 40. It wasn't well stocked though.

Ah right, I've forgotten about The Box's power back then. Its a shame really.

I could do, but a) I prefer a "hook" to base it on, and b) it would have to be a country with a reasonable number of artists to make it interesting but not too many to just be a mass of text. I guess requests could be made?

I was thinking of Canada, which seems to be ruling the charts at the moment with Beiber, Mendes and The Weeknd. However, it may be too big..?

I'd be interested in seeing any of the other Scandanavian countries and how they compare. Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland have all produced some excellent music over the years.

yes, Iceland has a few (Bjork, Sigur Ros, Of Monsters and Men)...

on the topic of Whigfield, I always thought it was an Italian/Danish combo, the guy making all the music, production was an Italian DJ, the Danish girl was the voice/face

Technically speaking it's not a Scandinavian country, but here is Iceland. I thought there might be a few more to be honest even though it's a small country in terms of population. If I've got any of the spellings right, please do say so.

Top 100 now from w/e 3/1/09, Top 75 before that.

If mods want these in separate threads, please let me know and I will oblige.

Torrini also had a #82 hit in 2005 with “Sunnyroad”, also I thought that “Jungle Drum” was a hit in 2009 (it was #1 in Iceland) for some reason, guess not tho?

wow thanks actually there are more Icelandic acts that I thought

real pity that Emiliana Torrini has never had a top 40 in the UK, she's had that song called Jungle Drum that was a #1 in some EU countries

you got a Sigur Ros song called () in the list but that was actually the name of the album... which song did chart in the uk??? Vaka maybe???

( ) was the name of both the album and the single. “Hljómalind” also made the T100 in 2007 at #91.

No song in ( ) is called ( )

Actually song titles were not listed but

They're called untitled#1, #2 etc although all have unofficial names

Anyway it was Untitled#1 aka Vaka that charted

So many Eurovision songs charted in 2014, completely forgot No Prejudice made it in!

As if Alda is 50 this year *.*

The artwork of the Sigur Ros single doesn't list any title, so I would imagine it was registered with the OCC as '()' too.

My copy of the Bellatrix single (and the album) list the title 'Jediwannabe' as one word, though I think it may have been listed as two words even on the chart at the time.

Would be interested in seeing one of these for Russia and Romania too if you got a chance. Very interesting!

I'll add those to the list of requests. There's only single figures of artists from either country.

could you do Spain too? Could be interesting to see how many have charted in the UK besides the Iglesias family

Sorry, can't do those who charted in the US, only the UK singles chart.
