Well done Jahq you were 50% right :kink: Taking silver is Cody, who gave just over a third of the songs a 10 (or above of course :kink:). However our BIGGEST Gaga stan goes to Oricon, who despite being a well known K-Pop lover obviously has time for Gaga :cheer: His Bad Romance chart run is v impressive (9-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-1-1-1-2-2-2-1-1-1-2-2-3-3-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-3-3-4-5-7-9-5-4-3-2-8-4-6-9-10-10-6-10-11-15-14-13-17-20-21-23-21-22-25-xx-12-xx-11-xx-7-12) and also of course has chosen Bad Romance to enter into this months BJSC spin off! I think 'The Fame Monster' will win the albums, but I wouldn't be that surprised if it was 'Born This Way'. I went for the former as my 11, but was thinking of going with the other as both are really strong. I might've even changed my 11 because I used to always think of 'Born This Way' as my favourite Gaga album, but when I was doing the rate, I just felt more drawn to 'The Fame Monster'.
I'm all for me and Yu making the top 2, but how did I give higher scores in this than BAL of all people? Surely he's a bigger stan than me?

I guess I was quite harsh on my rate. A lot of her early stuff has aged badly for me but I still adore her. She just does have a fair few stinkers which I couldn't be kind about ~

03. The Fame 7.8871

 

The debut album is out in a very respectable 3rd place. The album that exploded Gaga onto the scene, led in with 4 stupendous singles and really cementing her position on top of the pop throne at the time. It's an album, as the title suggests, about the mostly fun side of fame. The playful, luxurious elements of the lifestyle (dancing, gambling, love, sex, money) that was later to be flipped on its head as the true monster behind the lifestyle was explored. But here it is mostly FUN. Perhaps too fun? It lacks for a lot of the time the lyrical prowess that makes Gaga a special artist, it lacks the deep themes and global messages that she would later explore but it doesn't really seem to matter because it's a huge, explosive, loud album filled to the brim with bangers.

 

It was a critical success winning at the Grammys and more and also a gigantic, phenomenal commercial success. Selling millions worldwide, Gaga became instantly unstoppable. The album was juxtaposed with fantastic live performances and zany outfits that made Gaga the image just as important as the music. Quirky costumes and elusive interviews - Gaga soon became an enigma that ironically we ALL knew about. It was a strong debut album and a brilliant era that most pop stars would die to have so early in their career.

2. BORN THIS WAY 8.9355

 

At #2 we have Born This Way which was Gaga's second full studio album! BTW is very diverse and contains an increasing amount of different genres, especially if we compare it to the Fame which just dropped out at #3. Moreover in this Gaga examines different themes such as feminism, freedom, equality, sexuality and religion. The BTW era had five singles, all of which performed well commercially. Of course BTW also performed well commercially iteself, becoming Gaga's first number one album and making Gaga the fifth woman to sell one million copies in a week :cheer:

1. THE FAME MONSTER 9.5645

 

So Buzzjack, your number one Gaga album (yes, technically an EP before anyone comments :kink: ) is THE FAME MONSTER! :w00t: This originally was going to be released as a deluxe reissue of the fame, but Gaga decided to release it as a stand alone EP instead. As can be seen by the high average TFM is incredibly popular, in fact all of it's singles are yet to be announced in our top 10 countdown! :o Gaga says that this album deals with the darker side of "The Fame" such as love, sex and alcohol and also has a gothic theme. Of course, alongside the album was the theatrical Monster Ball tour (which sadly I didn't get to go to :( ). Once again this album saw commercial success, however in some countries it WAS released as a reissue so it charted under "The Fame" (this was the case in the UK). This one is my fav, so incredibly happy it won, but couldn't imagine anything other! :wub:

The right top 2 but I actually prefer Born This Way over TFM now I think.. I suppose TFM is more cohesive but BTW has so many highs. It's very close between the two and I do change my mind often though lol.

Just Dance and Alejandro aside that's a brilliant set of songs, I would like Poker Face to win as it remains an utter pop JOY 8 years on but Bad Romance seems more likely and will be quite fitting too.

10. Telephone ft. Beyoncé 8.7576

 

First out in the top 10 it's Gaga's humongous collaboration with Queen B, Telephone. The second single (and #1) from 'The Fame Monster' it showed a different side to Gaga and is one of the rare occasions she actually joined forces with another leading female. The song is about Gaga's fear of suffocation and this is presented through her constantly rejecting calls from her love interests. It's a pretty banging, if simple song, perfectly engineered to be blasted out in clubs and smash the charts. To accompany the song, Gaga embarked on her most ambitious project to date. A music video masterpiece. It was a talking point everywhere, insanely quotable, filled to the brim with movie references, elaborate costuming and choreography and an all round lesson in how to deliver the art of video. It was critically adored, nominated for three awards at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, including one for Video of the Year and was named best video of the decade by Billboard. It was Gaga throwing everything at the wall, and everything sticking. You have named it your tenth best Gaga song and it's an explosive way to kick-start the final leg of this countdown!
