Absolutely love this, so summery. Tracy Chapman's cover is pretty good too, but this version with the wonderful breezy breakdown is the one <3

Biography

Zain Javadd "Zayn" Malik (/ˈmælɪk/; born 12 January 1993) is an English singer and songwriter, and a former member of the boy band One Direction. In 2010, Malik auditioned as a solo artist for the British television series The X Factor. After being eliminated as a solo performer, Malik was brought back into the competition, along with four other contestants, to form the group that would later become known as One Direction. During his time in the group, Malik, along with his bandmates, released four commercially successful albums, performed on tour, and won numerous awards. In March 2015, Malik's representative announced the singer's departure from the band. Biography

From the free-living enclave of Christiania in Copenhagen, Lukas Graham and his boys -- Mark "Lovestick" Falgren on drums, Kasper Daugaard on keys, and Magnus "Magnum" Larsson on bass -- crafted a combination of funky pop and R&B stylings, which made them popular in their home country of Denmark. With his soulful delivery and honest lyrics, Graham recounted tales of family strife, poor decisions, and the celebration of life, all inextricably entwined with his years spent in Christiania. The young Graham's musical influences ranged from classical -- gained during his childhood experiences with the Copenhagen Boys' Choir -- to the Beatles and the Stones, as well as the Prodigy and Dr. Dre, whose Chronic 2001 was one of the most influential albums for Graham. Despite a less-privileged childhood, his parents were strong role models and much of that love was reflected in his heartfelt songs, like "Mama Said," "7 Years," and "Moving Alone." In early 2012, he released his first album, a self-titled effort that included "Drunk in the Morning," which went on to become a hit throughout Europe. Once they received more international exposure, they were signed to Warner Bros. Records in 2013. A second self-titled album -- nicknamed the "Blue Album" -- was released in late 2015. - iTunes

Yes at Zayn not being no.1 :yahoo:

The other ....Talk song was so much better. Really it should have gotten much further than #25.

Anyway, I prefer 7 Years to PILLOWTALK (and ZAYN's really annoying aswell) so I'm glad it's number one this week.

Love 7 years being no.1, such a great track.

Biography

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (/biːˈjɒnseɪ/ bee-YON-say) (born September 4, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she performed in various singing and dancing competitions as a child, and rose to fame in the late 1990s as lead singer of R&B girl-group Destiny's Child. Managed by her father, Mathew Knowles, the group became one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. Their hiatus saw the release of Beyoncé's debut album, Dangerously in Love (2003), which established her as a solo artist worldwide, earned five Grammy Awards and featured the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy".

Following the disbandment of Destiny's Child in June 2005, she released her second solo album, B'Day (2006), which contained hits "Déjà Vu", "Irreplaceable", and "Beautiful Liar". Beyoncé also ventured into acting, with a Golden Globe-nominated performance in Dreamgirls (2006), and starring roles in The Pink Panther (2006) and Obsessed (2009). Her marriage to rapper Jay Z and portrayal of Etta James in Cadillac Records (2008) influenced her third album, I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), which saw the birth of her alter-ego Sasha Fierce and earned a record-setting six Grammy Awards in 2010, including Song of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)". Beyoncé took a hiatus from music in 2010 and took over management of her career; her fourth album 4 (2011) was subsequently mellower in tone, exploring 1970s funk, 1980s pop, and 1990s soul. Her critically acclaimed fifth studio album, Beyoncé (2013), was distinguished from previous releases by its experimental production and exploration of darker themes.

A self-described "modern-day feminist", Beyoncé creates songs that are often characterized by themes of love, relationships, and monogamy, as well as female sexuality and empowerment. On stage, her dynamic, highly choreographed performances have led to critics hailing her as one of the best entertainers in contemporary popular music. Throughout a career spanning 19 years, she has sold over 118 million records as a solo artist, and a further 60 million with Destiny's Child, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She has won 20 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the award's history. The Recording Industry Association of America recognized her as the Top Certified Artist in America during the 2000s decade. In 2009, Billboard named her the Top Radio Songs Artist of the Decade, the Top Female Artist of the 2000s and their Artist of the Millennium in 2011. Time listed her among the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013 and 2014. Forbes magazine also listed her as the most powerful female musician of 2015. - Wikipedia

Biography

Dua Lipa was born and raised in London to Kosovar-Albanian parents. The sultry-voiced pop singer attended Sylvia Young Theater School (Rita Ora, Amy Winehouse) until the age of 13, when she moved to Kosovo with her family. However, the move wouldn't last very long, as she was back in London by age 15, living on her own and pursuing a singing career. Her first demos were released in 2012, attracting the attention of Lana Del Rey's management team, who signed her and linked her up with Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, Bruno Mars). Her debut single, "New Love," shimmered with a throwback vibe, while follow-up "Be the One" showcased her knack for catchy pop with some soulful grit, much like Sia, Jessie J, or P!nk, and a slyly rebellious air like Charli XCX and Marina & the Diamonds. - iTunes

Discussion Thread Here

how many weeks at #1 for Lukas Graham do we reckon?

at least 2, but The BRITS is on 24th Feb which could boost someone else to #1 (Adele, Rihanna)

Gah this is such a stunning song, I won't hear a bad word against it  Can see it at #1 for a long time, over 100k combined sales this week and I can see it being higher next week!
