Posted September 28, 200618 yr Madonna is the Queen of Pop. In recent years, she has received more music awards in the UK than the US. Maybe she has lived in the UK for a long period of time . Do you think she is more famous in the US or the UK now ? Where do you stand on this ? I guess She is more famous in the UK now.
September 28, 200618 yr I Think shes really famous in both, but the UK more! Because thats her home country!!
September 28, 200618 yr Well yer cos' her music is far more appreciated and 'understood' in Europe than the US. The US unfortunately are stuck still in the middle ages!

September 28, 200618 yr Author I Think shes really famous in both, but the UK more! Because thats her home country!! oh yes, She is really famous in the UK and the US too.
September 28, 200618 yr I agree, she's more famous in the UK and Americans don't seem to appreciate her music anymore, which is a shame!

October 2, 200618 yr She's popular in both sure, but more popular in Europe because in the US how well an artist does on in the charts like the Billboard 100 depends on the amount of airplay and not just how many copies their album's sold. At the moment the US are on a big hiphop kick and play just downright $h!te music like Paris Hilton  :puke2: I dont get American radio stations, especially in NYC Madonna is an American superstar. How can radio judge whether people are going to like somethin or not - as a radio it's their duty to play whatever is new and fresh. And, come on, as if people are gonna call the radio and tell them to stop playing Madonna. How can she get any airplay if people cant even listen to the song?

She is popular in both. Sadly to hear about that news. Anyway, She is still the Queen of pop.
October 2, 200618 yr Author Awful i know!! But apparently, JUMP is getting 'some' airplay in the US!! :) Jump is a great single .
October 2, 200618 yr UK, allthough she has a massive fanbase in the US, her singles don't sell well over there, but that's just because of her genre in music.
October 3, 200618 yr Even her album dont sell as well as they should in the USA. She is def a major artist in Europe though
October 3, 200618 yr Her singles sell very well in the USA considering very few record companies release them and few stores sell them! Its just the case of poor airplay and not sales! And yes, her album sales aren't what they once were in the states...1.5 million for confessions is kinda sad!! :(
