Posted February 20, 20169 yr MOLLIE Mollie has recently announced that she has signed a record deal with Island Records, the home of Amy Winehouse, Florence & The Machine & Robbie Williams and is set to release her first single later this year. Mollie has spent the last few months writing and recording new material in studios not only in the UK, but throughout Europe and in the USA. Mollie continues her work as an ambassador for Maybelline whilst also championing a cause close to her heart, with the Born Free Foundation, of which she recently became an ambassador. You can find out what she got up to on her recent trip with the charity here. Source: The Saturdays mailer. It's official! :D Edited August 12, 20168 yr by Hurricane
February 20, 20169 yr So glad it's finally official! But "later this year" better mean in the next couple months.
February 20, 20169 yr Mollie summer anthem please. FANTASTIC that it's been confirmed :cheer: Also go her, Island are a pretty big deal, so well done her getting onto a big label Ready to be SLAYED
February 20, 20169 yr I have high expectations for this considering you have all been over hyping her to the max! I better not be left disappointed ;)

February 20, 20169 yr Risque, though. Later this year could mean Summer...which is a dead zone for singles unless you're a big artist guaranteed to gather airplay. There are no promo slots avalaible! I'm hoping either May or September.
February 21, 20169 yr May could be perfect. That's when Missing You was released, no? There are so many promo slots available at that time. Plus if it's a summery track it could actually get a bit of longevity.

Oh well, maybe August isn't a dead zone, but June is, I don't know, lmao. Either way, I'm hoping the label don't mess it up. I just want the album so bad, lmao.

I still think you're right about avoiding summer though. They need to get this release right. No typical Sats mistakes like releasing on the busiest week, waiting until it's too late for a price reduction, etc.
February 25, 20169 yr Per Mollie at the Elle Style Awards, first single will be out in "the next few months" :cheer: It's pop but in a different lane from the Sats. Also the girls will be coming together for "something" (probably dinner) this year. Edited February 25, 20169 yr by (Zach)
February 25, 20169 yr so a May release most likely :yahoo: the pop, but different from the sats interests me. Could maybe see her doing something similar to Selena Gomez's new stuff, I think Mollie's voice would really suit that
February 25, 20169 yr Someone from Popjustice that isn't an insider per say, but knows more than he seems to let on, has implied 'April' would be a good month to hear the first single (radio premiere?). Exciting anyway! :cheer:
February 25, 20169 yr I can't wait! I'm really anxious to hear it. I'm hoping her new material will somewhat fill my Sats void.
February 25, 20169 yr I really want the album, though...I'm just anxious about how well the single must do to manage to get an album out? I'm just scared on how the label will handle her, mostly. They need to get her out on every possible platform. No "she's 1/5 of one of the biggest girlgroup" f***ery, no one remembers her. So sell her as a new upcoming artist, get the bitch on every radio station possible, etc. Make deals with Spotify or whatever for streaming and shit. I want this campaign to feel like one. Although, I won't lie, this is insanely exciting because she's finally telling people about it. I think more interviews will come around, I'm guessing she's just waiting for the best opportunity. February 25, 20169 yr There's not much point in worrying at the moment, it's such early days that we haven't even heard a second of her music yet. Let's wait and see what Mollie & the label have in store first, before worrying about the campaign, success levels & whether an album will materialise. Keep positive until there's a reason to feel worried etc.
