August 13, 20168 yr My initial reaction was this too, if so I wouldn't mind an On My Mind style track from Mollie for lead and think the pop meets dance sound would suit perfectly for any chance of radio. I agree! I'm anxious to hear what sound she went with. It's kind of nerve racking actually.
August 13, 20168 yr I don't think it'll make the top 75 but if it's good it might catch on after a while? Who knows.
August 14, 20168 yr The Sats fandom, generally speaking, have had some impressive chart peaks given lack of airplay and streaming (19+38 for their last two singles) so I'm really interested to see how this will go. Either way I love the artwork, it's definitely above any of the artwork we've had from Vanessa thus far. 'What Are You Waiting For?' was their only single released since streaming started being included in the charts. I'm quite excited for this! As for charts, I'd be highly surprised if it even makes the top 200. Edited August 14, 20168 yr by mr_pmt

August 14, 20168 yr Was streaming not introduced by the time of NGU or was that just before? I think streaming was included the following week or a couple of weeks later. 'Not Giving Up' might have missed the top 30 had streaming been introduced. Edited August 14, 20168 yr by leewallace
August 14, 20168 yr Was streaming not introduced by the time of NGU or was that just before? Streaming was introduced in July (iirc) so NGU actually missed it by quite a bit!
August 14, 20168 yr Yup it was July for streaming! Not Giving Up would've been knocked down about 10 places going by the streaming climate then I think.
August 14, 20168 yr I'm excited to hear how this will sound, feels like it's been forever since she announced she was pursing a solo career so I'm happy that the moment is finally here! ...I hope the song rhymes as well as that sentence.
August 14, 20168 yr Not Giving Up did not deserve to be their last single supported by daytime radio :(
August 15, 20168 yr The single cover is now her Facebook profile picture. To quote The Saturdays themselves, soon!

August 15, 20168 yr http://img4.hostingpics.net/pics/751825SHOT040401.jpg "She's already sold a staggering 5 million records as part of all conquering girl group The Saturdays. Now Mollie King finally unleashes her debut solo single, ‘Back To You’. The song will be released on Friday 19th August 2016 via Island Records, accompanied by a stunningly beautiful video, shot by critically acclaimed director Lisa Gunning (Fifty Shades of Grey, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Seven Psychopaths). Written by Mollie and Rob Persuad alongside producers The Blueprint (Ryan Ogren and Nick Bailey), ‘Back To You’ is a dreamy electropop track with an indelible synth-heavy chorus in which Mollie questions her constant return to a relationship which is just no good - ‘why do I keep coming back to you’. Talking about the track, Mollie says ‘It’s a very personal song to me. A lot of my writing inspiration has come from what I’ve been through over the last couple of years’. Mollie has spent the last year and a half writing and recording her debut solo material with some of the globes hottest producers. She has cited the process of writing and recording solo music as a massive learning curve, allowing her to hone her sound and talk about subject matters close to her heart. Mollie confesses ‘In a band it’s sometimes difficult to write about personal experiences because there's a lot of members. My solo material is the kind of music that I love, stylistically this is me and I'm saying things that I want to say.' Mollie King is best known as one-fifth of leading girl group, The Saturdays. Since forming in 2007, the multi-platinum selling band have sold over 5 million records and concert tickets worldwide, scored 13 Top 10 singles and 5 Top 10 albums. The band also embarked on four nationwide headline tours and starred in three primetime TV series, including ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ for E! which aired in over 40 territories. Beyond the group, Mollie has established herself as a mainstay of the fashion press, recently being shot for covers by Geist, Notion and Fault, alongside being a permanent fixture on London’s style scene." August 15, 20168 yr Obviously it's a short clip so I don't want to get too excited yet, but I have to say, that does sound/look very promising indeed! Roll on Friday!
August 15, 20168 yr Okay. I really like the sound of this and imo sounds slightly Nicole Scherzinger!!
August 15, 20168 yr QUEEN of lyricism and all the good things in the world: And I wonder what you’re thinking right now cause I’m going through hell.
