In recent magazine articles, Nicole Richie told that her demo 'Dandelion' will not appear in her debut album. In September 2006 it was announced her first album will be released in January, titled Soul Searching.The first single off the highly anticipated release, is entitled “Baby Jane†a song written by Richie about a young girl strangled to death in a Chicago Town home. It is also rumored to be a dark gritty, pop soul infused album with a distinct indication to the underground music scene that Richie enjoys. Other rumored tracks on the album include they disturbing “Blister, and “Severed Ties†a blatant attack on one of Richie’s old pals Paris Hilton.

I will be intrigued to hear what this is like. I doubt it will be better than Paris's album and I think it will do worse than Paris's album in the charts also!

Her voice is alot better than Paris'... you heard Dandelion?

I heard "Dandelion" once awhile back and was not impressed at all. I find it easy to believe her voice is better than Paris's though. lol. Is her dad involved in her album at all? That would be interesting

Not sure about her dad... and the Dandelion song was a bit boring but shows she has a good voice. I would imagine she would want her dad in on the album :P

I don't know why but I could imagine Nicole taking the more "mature" root in sound instead of the standard pop stuff. Have any of the songs leaked yet do you know? I get the feeling I will be buying this album regardless of what its like! lol

I liked 'Dandelion', and I'm certainly looking forward to this a hell of a lot more than I was for Paris' album. I hope she thrashes Paris saleswise too, that would be a nice "in your face" to Paris. B)

Like Paris, people will not want to like it. Will focus on the person rather than the songs and like Paris, Nicole's public image is not exactly great either.

Hmm I think it could go either way, if Nicole does a more mature album the critics may like it... I think this will be better than Paris' so far, Nicole is also writing more than Paris... I will get it either way though :D

I really really like Paris's album. I think its brilliant pop. People wanted to boycot it from the begining because it was her. Hopefully Nicole's album wont get the same reaction.

wow, this album sounds really good! :o sounds like its gonna have some pretty deep lyrics to it as well, cant wait!

 

Dandielion wasnt the strongest vocal performance, but it had some great lyrics!

I downloaded a clip of Dandelion and she has a better more natural voice then Paris. Actually she has a brilliant voice, a MILLION times better then paris.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? Nicole can sing good, and the genre she is going for sounds very intriguing, and more unique then Paris'. I expect the album to do very well, especially with her being alot more popular then Paris in the states. Remember that Paris stopped being her friend because Nicole was more popular then Paris.

What you are saying about their friendship is pure speculation. There have been many rumours on why they fell out but neither have them have agreed on a reason. I doubt personally they broke up because of Nicole's riseing fame. She is hardly the "brand" that Paris is. I admit Nicole's album has some exciting possibilties as she seems to be looking at a more mature sound and her voice is better.But time will tell I guess...

Well TBH. I think the whole friend situation was a big promo stunt for their show 'The Simple Life". Im not saying Paris' album isnt great though. I just wouldnt count Nicole out just yet.

im actually interested to how this album will sound. i love dandelion, and i think she has a good voice.

Nicole has a great voice and i can see her doing norah jones type album... nicole celeb staus isn't really that of hate like paris' is within the uk, even though i like paris and some of her songs, i think if nicole has a great 1st single that it will sell alot more than paris' in the states maybe even in the uk, i wonder if she can actually sing live? if she couldn't i doubt her dad would want her to be releasing stuff also her dad IS helping her out with the album i read it in one of his interviews and omg nicole is bigger than paris in the states? :o

Well, her dad should be helping with writing songs with her too I would have thought! Also we haven't heard the first single yet, Dandilion was a demo :P
