Maybe so, but practically a complete reversal of my list - but that doesn't surprise me. I gave up on the 90s rates because my votes weren't having any effect at all.

Maybe so, but practically a complete reversal of my list - but that doesn't surprise me. I gave up on the 90s rates because my votes weren't having any effect at all.

Putting it into context though, lower chart entries in the 90's came and went, got one play on the chart show and that was often it. One might argue their chart positions were a bit flattered - I was big into chart music, but if you missed the chart show that was that, no way of hearing them unless they got daytime airplay or TOTP/Tube spots. It's hard (for me) to even recall some of them, or else judge on one listen against songs I already love, so they were never really going to do well for the most part. The early 90's were more traditional climbers but my impression is they did less well than later decade 90's (and later decade 80's and 70's) as they were less known to younger voters than older voters (err me  ) - my bias tends to be the earlier parts of decades as I know them better, and have more nostalgia for them - this will change in the 60's where my nostalgia will be mid- late 60's biased and the early 60's full of loads I don't know. Hooray!

Very true - and I'll end up not giving points to great songs I don't know. The 90s is the decade I know best by a long, long way so it's no wonder I'm feeling a bit upset by the results!

"Ray of Light" is fantastic song! Its videoclip is simply great!
A tiny bit disappointed that Enjoy The Silence didn't win this but I can't deny that Ray Of Light is a good song, if a little too obvious in the Buzzjack friendly stakes.
