Surprised it's so low in ROI? Is it still based on sales alone?
That is a very disappointing update as it will result in them dropping out the top 40 :arrr: :arrr:

They would need a TV slot to promote the song, but, with Gary being busy for the upcoming weeks, it doesn't look like it will happen.

It's a shame, cause the reaction to the song has been mostly positive and it could have done well if handled correctly.

I think on-air, on-sale is detrimental to Take That's songs, as their past hits tend to have 4-6 weeks of radio buildup before release, and people will buy it on the week of release. With on-air, on-sale, songs aren't given enough time to catch on with the public and tend to suffer because the radio effect are more spaced out over weeks, and most songs will languish in the middle of the chart because of this (the exception to this are the A-listers of today such as Drake, JT and Rihanna, since the fanbase and GP will buy the song the minute it gets released).

However, since the UK is now adopting on-air, on-sale, I guess there's really nothing TT can do other than constantly promoting the song.

EDIT: I just saw that Tuesday's data is missing Spotify and Apple Music streams. They're most likely gonna fall out of the top 40 this week

I would hope it can recover in the coming weeks, as it most certainly will leave the top 40 this week. It could recover in the lower end of the chart but number 21 looks likely to be its peak

Which I guess isn't as bad as it could have been. It should have been top 5, but the streaming has killed them. How can they be around #20 on iTunes and #35 in the mids without including Spotify etc.
40 in today's midweeks. Looking at low top 50. Bye.
It will most likely end the week now between number 45 and 50, which is a very steep fall.

I wonder how Sigma view this? I think it's safe to say TT peak years are done on singles chart and album sales are falling. I know people say the 3 man TT have been successful #1 single/album and Platinum selling album.

I wonder if Jason was still in band would they have been higher/sold more? Have people truly taken to 3 man TT? That's a steep fall considering the video has come out and Radio 1 promo.

I really wish they would put out Greatest Hits 2 soon purely to remind the general public of their post comeback hits and before they no longer care... revive a bit of interest so that if TT 3 continues at least people have their past work fresh in their minds.

I believe the timing of the Greatest Hits 2 for next year is just right. Anniversary aside, there is still some interest in Take That as 3, i believe the sales of the upcoming studio album will really indicate if the public just dont care for them anymore or if the 3 material just didnt appeal. Three has managed half a million plus of UK sales on the back of just 1 hit as all the other releases went completely un-noticed, the next album needs to match those sales if not better them. Having more than 1 hit would be a big help.

Nirvana makes a good point: how will this be viewed by Sigma and TT?
Radio 1 have just added Cry to their playlist
As I said when it aired, I think it'll be a bit of an embarrassment for both artists. They're both chasing a hit with artists opposite to what their general fanbase is interested in, and it seemingly just isn't connecting sadly.
It charted in top 40 (top 5 on sales), it's been playlisted by both R1 an R2 - which is an achievement in itself . Only naysayers call this an embarrassment.

Well, I think the chart run of 21-out isn't good for any artists' brand new single, and nothing to be proud of.

Not saying it might not rebound at some point though, hopefully it will.
