Williams' lover no bragger, mother says

04 October 2006

By JOANNA DAVIS

The mother of Robbie Williams' Kiwi love interest says her daughter, formerly of Christchurch, is devastated at being forced to kiss and tell.

Jill Blunden's daughter, Charlotte Austin, hit the headlines this week after a British tabloid told of her romance with the British pop superstar.

Austin, 26, told The Sunday Mirror newspaper she was Williams' London lover after they got to know each other across the bar of the five-star Conrad Hotel she worked in.

Blunden, 54, said her daughter, who grew up in Christchurch and went to Christchurch Girls' High School, agreed to reveal details of the romance only after she was told by a reporter the story would be written with or without her input.

"She's really upset and blown away because it's not her style to be public about it. She's fiercely private about her personal life, so it's been hugely traumatic for her," Blunden said.

Blunden, who is just back from spending two months staying in her daughter's East London flat, said Austin did not have stars in her eyes and was realistic about the casual arrangement with Williams.

"It was just an unspoken arrangement. She's always been very grounded about that," Blunden said. "She's not the sort of girl who goes bragging about these things."

Austin was not going to become the next Rachel Hunter, her mother said.

The friendship had grown naturally as they chatted when Williams was drinking – always non-alcoholic drinks – at the bar, Blunden said.

Austin now had a Scottish boyfriend who had been very supportive during the past few days, Blunden said.

Kylie's keen to meet Charlie

Cameron Adams, music reporter

October 05, 2006 12:00am

THERE'S one young Australian Kylie Minogue can't wait to meet on her Showgirl Homecoming tour -- her baby nephew Charlie.

Minogue's brother Brendan became a father in April.

Sister Dannii met Charlie on a trip home in August, but Kylie has had to wait a little longer.

"I'm waiting. Very impatiently," Minogue told the Herald Sun.

"Not long now. I'll be one of those aunties that just pounces on the baby."

Minogue admits Charlie's birth came at a crucial time in her recovery from breast cancer.

"That was wonderful news," Kylie said.

"The family really needed something like that at that time, a nice little surprise."

Minogue also praised French boyfriend Olivier Martinez.

The singer stayed at Martinez's Paris house during her radiotherapy.

"He's been phenomenal. Absolutely amazing. He's gone back to LA to work again. He can be less worried about me now. Everything was put on hold for a while."

Minogue also spoke about rumours she may sing with Robbie Williams in Melbourne -- she has a free night on December 18, the night Williams plays Telstra Dome.

Williams and Minogue sang together on the 2001 hit Kids.

"I haven't even considered that," Minogue said, "But it's food for thought."

Tickets are available for Minogue's shows at Rod Laver Arena from December 10 to 17.

Los Premios MTV Latinoamerica 2006I

Miami, FL – MTV Latin America announced today that Mexican rock band Molotov will host “Los Premios MTV Latinoamerica 2006,” to take place on Thursday, October 19th (10pm). In a star-studded telecast to air from Mexico City’s Palacio de Los Deportes, international superstar Robbie Williams and electro-pop sensation Belanova will perform live, joining previously announced performers Nelly Furtado, Evanescence Robbie Williaand top nominee Julieta Venegas. This year marks the first time that MTV Latin America’s annual award ceremony takes place outside Miami, since its premier in 2002, and Mexico will be the first Latin American country to host the event.Robbie

“Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica” reflects the music and attitude of youth in Latin America today, and the show brings together a variety of regional Latin American pop and rock artists and international acts -- making it a truly unique music experience. The ‘Premios’ ceremony will air on MTV Latin America to more than 24 countries. In addition, it will be seen on MTV, MTV2 and MTV Tr3s in the US, reaching an additional 80 million households, and on various select broadcast stations throughout Latin America.

"We love working with Molotov because they are completely unpredictable, which sets the tone for the entire show; even we won't know for sure what will happen, which is exactly the way we and the MTV audience like it," said Charlie Singer, Executive Vice President, Programming and Creative Strategy, MTV Networks Latin America and Executive Producer of ‘Los Premios MTV.’ "But we also love the combination a la Beauty and The Beast of Molotov and Ana de la Reguera; she is one of the most successful up and coming Latin American talents and a strong woman with a smart sense of humor, so she will certainly keep Molotov and the audience on their toes," added Singer.

“It is great to have global superstars like Robbie Williams and future stars like Belanova performing at Los Premios MTV 2006,” commented José Tillán, Senior Vice President of Music Programming and Talent Strategy, MTV Networks Latin America. “The show promises to deliver a fun and irreverent evening to audiences around the world, combining the very best of Anglo and Latin talent,” added Tillán.

Molotov, known for their dynamic energy and explosive performances, will provide a unique presentation for this year’s show as the first band to host an MTV award show. The band's vibrant mix of punk, metal, rap and funk together with their socio-political lyrics have made them a crossover success in the U.S. as well as in Europe. After years of touring in front of audiences from across the globe, Molotov broke records with their album, “Dance and Dense Denso,” garnering four Latin Grammy nominations and a win for ‘Best Rock Album of the Year’. With Gold and Platinum sales in various countries, including platinum sales in the U.S., Molotov’s fan base continues to grow across the board. Their last cover album, “Con Todo Respeto,” pays tribute to songs from the Beastie Boys, El Tri, Gill Scott Heron and ZZ Top, among other greats. Molotov’s four man lineup includes singer/guitarist Tito, bassists Mickey and Paco, and drummer Randy.

Considered one of Mexico’s most prominent actresses, Ana de la Reguera made her Hollywood debut alongside costar Jack Black in this year’s internationally renowned comedy Nacho Libre. Her film career includes roles in Por La Libre (From Dust to Dust) and the box office hit Ladies’ Night, which garnered an MTV Movie Award Mexico for “Best Actress” and a co-starring role opposite Oscar nominee Kathy Jurado in Un Secreto de Esperanza (2002). In addition to her big screen projects, De la Reguera also endured small screen success with starring roles in soap operas that debuted on Telemundo in the US and Latin America, and also aired on International markets like the Ukraine and Spain. She’s currently filming Sultanes Del Sur with Argentine director Alejandro Lozano of Lemon Films.

“Best International Artist” nominee, Robbie Williams, is set to electrify “Los Premios MTV” fresh off his new album, Rudebox. The album recorded in 2006 breaks out collaborations with an array of musical mavericks including The Pet Shop Boys, William Orbit, fellow Stoke natives Danny Spencer & Kelvin Andrews AKA Soul Mekanik and disco-house icon Joey Negro. The album’s first single of the same name is already in the Top 5 on the Latin American charts. Known for his bad boy image, Robbie’s international success since 1997 includes his album, Intensive Care, which sold 6 million copies worldwide and was the third best selling album in the UK in 2005 with 1.5 million copies. Robbie is currently on his sold out “Close Encounters” European tour and will begin the Latin American leg on October 10th. Rudebox is scheduled for worldwide release on October 23rd.

Belanova is slated to perform a track from their sophomore album, Dulce Beat, which earned them four “Los Premios MTV” nominations including “Best Group/Duo”, “Best Artist-North”, “Best Pop Artist” and “Artist of the Year”. The double-platinum album is topping charts with hits “Me Pregunto” and “Por Ti”, which posted #1 on MTV’s “Top 20” in Mexico for 29 straight weeks. Their debut album, Cocktail, reached gold sales in international markets and locked a performance spot at the “2004 MTV VMALA Tour” in Guadalajara, Mexico. This year the trio is recording their third album and lending their voices for the Latin American release of the High School Musical soundtrack.

This year’s show will include three new award categories, including “Song of the Year,” which honors the biggest songs of the past 12 months, and the “Breakthrough Artist” and “Most Promising Artist” awards, which emphasize MTV’s commitment to both developing and recognizing new talent.

The winners of “Los Premios MTV 2006” will be selected by MTV Latin America viewers, who will cast their votes online at MTVla between September 5th and October 5th, 2006.

Wind-up that puts Robbie in the frame

icNewcastle

Who would have thought it? TV presenter Declan Donnelly had to win a radio competition for a chance to rub shoulders with his pop star idol Robbie Williams!

Our pictures reveal the moment a nervous-looking Dec was introduced to his hero by the singer's best pal, Jonathan Wilkes, before a gig in Vienna, Austria.

"Good to see you. I have been a fan all my life," said Dec.

After learning that Dec was a competition winner from Newcastle, Robbie asked if he got the chance to meet him by listening to Metro FM.

Dec said"yes", explaining he was lucky caller number 10 in a phone competition and had to answer a simple question to win the opportunity to meet his hero.

When Robbie asked what question Dec had to answer he creased up in fits of laughter at the reply.

The cheeky presenter told Robbie: "They asked me what you were loving instead, and I said, `it's Angels instead'."

But of course it's all a spoof. Internet site Youtube.com is hosting the 56-second clip, which was recorded for TV channel Sky One.

The comedy clip takes a risque turn when Dec claims the radio host had promised him the chance to see Robbie Williams wearing only his pants. Robbie responds by stretching out on a massage bench and jokes: "Well, here I am. Do with me what you will!"

In a final joke Dec then turns to the camera and tells the viewers he can see the popstar "popping out" of his briefs.

And he makes as if to touch Robbie before backing away.

The clip has been posted on the internet by a 23-year-old known as "ruddy82". Ruddy82's other postings on the site suggest he is a native of Tyneside and a fan of Alan Shearer.

Three video clips posted by him are dedicated to the goal-scoring legend. In the video clips a man dons an Alan Shearer mask and travels the world on holiday.

There are pictures of the masked Alan outside the pyramids, the Champs Elysées, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Disneyworld.

Backing music for the video is provided by Newcastle United legend Paul Gascoigne performing his version of Fog on the Tyne with Lindisfarne.

While the clip IS very funny, WHY is this front page news all of a sudden??? Didn't this show on tv like a month ago?!?

I hate UK papers.

Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley

GARY Barlow is worried Robbie Williams could be heading for a breakdown after his new single was panned.

The Take That star, 35, who's no stranger to failure, says: "I'd hate to see him go through what I've been through... I don't know if he'd come out the other end."

well, that is an improvement, at least the 3am bitches are saying panned and not flopped. My things are looking up.

Robbie is sued for £300k

October 07, 2006

THE bitter legal battle between ROBBIE WILLIAMS and his ex-manager has taken another nasty turn – throwing fresh doubt on whether his new album will be out on time.

Yesterday, Nigel Martin-Smith served a High Court writ against Robbie and his record label Chrysalis, demanding £300,000 in damages over a track on his forthcoming Rudebox CD.

Nigel took the dramatic action after threatening to sue the singer if a song called The 90s is released.

I can’t print the offending lyrics for legal reasons — but Nigel believes they are highly defamatory to him and untrue.

The album is due out on October 23 — so Robbie’s legal team are going to have to move very quickly if they are to avoid it being delayed.

The High Court writ follows a bitter feud between the pair — and Robbie has quite clearly not forgiven the former TAKE THAT manager all these years later.

Robster was sued for breach of contract after he left Take That and has nursed harsh feelings about Nigel ever since.

Now that writs have been issued, Nigel’s legal team have to serve them on Robbie and his record company.

And once the notices have been acknowledged by both parties, copies of the writs will become available from the court in London.

A procedural judge will hear the initial stages of the action against Chrysalis Records, while his colleague will hear the early stages of the claim against Robbie.

Both judges have the power to either strike out the action or rule the court cases should go ahead, and to decide on how they should proceed and what sort of evidence must be produced.

That could all go on for weeks or even months, which would be a real headache for Robbie and his label.

A source said: “This could seriously hamper the chances of Robbie’s album coming out on time.

“The major problem is that thousands of pounds have already been spent on an international marketing campaign to promote the album. From the record label’s point of view the album has to come out on time.â€

I reckon Robbie will eventually end up removing one of the lines from the song so that the CD can be released.

But The 90s simply MUST stay on the album because I’ve heard it and it is fantastic.

Take That fans will love it — and it would be a travesty if it didn’t make the final cut.

EXCLUSIVE: TAKE THAT BACK

Robbie forced to withdraw insulting lyrics from album

By Caroline Hedley

TROUBLED Robbie Williams has been forced to change insulting lyrics on his new album in case his former manager sues.

The changes have caused "huge headaches" for his record label weeks before the album, Rudebox, is released.

They are desperate to avert legal action from Nigel Martin Smith, who managed Robbie in Take That.

But despite the changes, the singer may face a writ for defamation after he failed to withdraw his allegations.

On a track called The 90s Robbie brands Nigel an "evil man" and accuses him of ripping him off.

But a music industry source has told the Mirror Nigel kept "meticulous records" of his accounts when he was guiding the success of Take That, who recently re-formed without Robbie, 32. The source said yesterday: "Nigel always had a feeling Robbie could be problematic and he kept every detail of how much each was paid and when.

"The label knew this and did the sensible thing in insisting that any defamatory lyrics were immediately removed from the Rudebox album.

"Otherwise Nigel was going to seek an injunction to stop its release.

"He's put up with Robbie slagging him off for years and he's had enough."

Despite the album's revision, Robbie's reluctance to take back his claims means Nigel could still sue.

The insider said: "Details of the original lyrics have leaked. Robbie even mouthed them on stage at a recent gig.

"It might be funny for him but for Nigel, who still works in the music industry, questioning his credibility is a serious issue."

Robbie fell out with Nigel, 45, after he quit Take That in 1995. Nigel successfully sued Robbie for breach of contract.

The singer went on to brand his old manager the "spawn of Satan".

Last month The Mirror revealed Robbie is being treated for depression.

He recently axed the Asian leg of his Close Encounters tour blaming "exhaustion".

The star is also facing a lawsuit from songwriter Ashley Hamilton, who claims the track Madonna, on the Rudebox album was stolen from him.

A spokesman for Robbie said "No comment" last night.

What does that all mean ? I'm more confused than ever at this point.

Musicweek says the song is on the album with alterated lyrics, that sounded finde to me, everything settled.

With those latest tabloid articles it seems there is still the possibility of NMS suing Rob and the album being delayed... ? Please tell me I have got that bit wrong.

I really don't get it all. Nigel, you f***ing b*****d, the offending lyrics won't be on the album, what

do you still want now? :arrr:

Basically I don't care, he can sue Rob for 300 k if he likes, I think that's peanuts for him anyway - but

I want the album to be out on October 23rd and not one day later. :puke2:

What does everyone make of this ?

PS. Anyon else noticed that the lovely 3am ladies always end their articles with the same c**p ?

I think I read the "Rudebox flopped, legal problems with NMS and Ashley, Asian tour cancelled" bit about a dozen times now

monsoon, read my thoughts in The 90s thread. I'm only guessing though.

This is shocking. Apperently a journalist from the Mirror has joined Digital Spy and posted the following in a Robbie thread :o

"My name is Louisa Pilbeam and I am a journalist at the Sunday Mirror newspaper.

If anyone out there has any stories they think we would be interested in then let me know...

Has anyone met a Robbie or another celeb, did he try it on with you, do you know any celebrity gossip???

Give me a call on 0207 293 3603 or 07886 535060 and we can pay for any stories given.

Thanks,

Louisa Pilbeam"
