you should copy that and send it to the Press Complaints Commission. It will get those journalist 'itting' themselves.

Honestly, something should be done about it in this country.

Just give me the link for Digital Spy and I will post up the same thing in reverse.

'My name is  and I am a journalist at the Sunday Mirror newspaper. If anyone has any stores that would be of interested, especially any stories about Editors and journalists, please ring me on  :arrr:  :puke: We can pay for any stories given.

I don't mean to start any speculation, but yesterday there was something in a very respected German magazine ("Spiegel") that made big news in Germany. I think it might turn up in the UK press at some point, so I can as well say it now.

Spiegel magazine quotes Rob as saying that the music industry is beginning to make him ill.

He doesn't want to renew his contract with EMI and in the future he would like to record songs independent from any record company.

I wouldn't have posted this if it had been from some crappy paper, but actually Spiegel is known for serious journalism. Besides, it wouldn't surprise me. I bet if it was Rob's decision alone he would have left the 90s on the album including the heavy lyrics and I could imagine he's not happy that EMI removed the lyrics (or the whole song, I mean we still don't know for sure).

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see Robbie making music and releasing it under his own company in the future. It may even be why he seems to be rushing to complete his EMI contract.

Just as long as he doesn't stop making music all together, cos that would be a crime!

Hamburg. AP/baz. Superstar Robbie Williams does not want to extend his spectacular record deal with the music corporation EMI.

“The machinery of the music industry makes me sick, and I pray for escaping from it as soon as possible†says the 32 year old to “Spiegel†magazine according to a pre-announcement on Saturday. Robbie Williams has in 2002 signed the highest record contract in UK history, granting him approximately € 12 Million per album.
After the expiry of the contract he would like to “sell music independently from a record company†says Williams. *

From Spiegel online:

The pop marytr

On stage he is an exceptionally gifted clown and heart-breaker. With his now album Robbie Williams opens the second chapter of his career. The “lusty² pop doll†(Williams about Williams) wants to be taken serious as an artist finally.

Williams is among the most gifted artists on this planet. Just as well he fills out the role as pop-martyr so heart breaking, as no one has since Kurt Cobain. “First you do everything to go ahead. And then you need to struggle to survive this madness.†Says Williams to the SPIEGEL.**

No Sunday Kiss and Tell this week?

Highly disappointing. :smoke:

I'd love nothing more than him to move record company :D

Somehow I thought you would be pleased about the news, Scotty.

Meanwhile I have realised too that this comment was taken out of an interview with Spiegel magazine, which I guess must have taken place when Rob was still touring in Germany. Probably the problem with the 90s wasn't even on the cards back then.

Someone's having good taste here :)

Rob is currently artist of the month on aol.music.uk

This is what it says on their website (with thanks to purerobbie):

Head of the class

Robbie remains the British pop star par excellence, and as his recent huge UK tour shows, he's still moving forward with a spectacular stage show and making more hits.

 That's pretty nice coming from a British website, isn't it...? :o

ROBBIE'S CAR SALE

ROBBIE Williams's funky Smart Crossblade car has fetched £17,100 on auction website eBay.

Bidding for the trendy two-seater began at £100 and soared upwards, with 45 offers made in total.

Robbie's 86mph motor, a roofless and doorless version of the Smart City car, came complete with fag burns made in the passenger seat by the pop superstar himself.

The registered keeper was shown as "R Williams" in the log book.

When he became the first person to own a Smart Crossblade, Robbie gushed of his new toy: "I just love it.

"It's innovative and unconventional - two qualities I look for."

Fans delighted as Barlow insists: We're back for goodOct 9 2006

By Paula Owens Daily Post Correspondent

SINGER and songwriter Gary Barlow appeared in Liverpool to sign copies of his new biography on Saturday - just days before the release of Take That's first single in more than 10 years.

Hundreds of fans queued on Saturday outside WH Smith, in Church Street, to get their hands on a signed copy of "My Take".

With the exception of former band member Robbie Williams, Take That's original line-up of Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald announced last year they were reforming.

Since then, they have performed a sell-out tour - and their new song will be played for the first time on Radio One this week.

Barlow said: "We're back for good. Being together is so fantastic. We support each other.

"While I'm capable of being on stage by myself, it's so much better being part of a band.

"At one point Nigel (Martin-Smith, manager) wanted to replace Jason with Shayne Ward. It's bad enough that Rob's not there, but without him we're still Take That."

Barlow says his relationship with Robbie was never an easy one: "Take That had been micro-managed for years, and Rob suffered from being the youngest. He wasn't a team player, I wasn't either - I wanted to be team leader, and so did he. I think he found it annoying playing second fiddle to anyone; it's not in his nature."

Barlow admits the rock 'n' roll lifestyle took its toll on the youngsters.

He said: "Performing the kind of shows we did was knackering and we had to stay in shape, both physically and mentally.

"We drank a lot, went out a lot and we were young and resilient, but we couldn't push it too far.

"For boys of our age it was a dream come true: girls on tap. It was crazy. We were just a bunch of lads let loose in the sweet shop."

I'm pretty happy about him possibly leaving EMI. I wondered why he was releasing Rudebox while he was still promoting/touring for IC...I guess that explains it.

Legal action threatened over Robbie album

Source; Music Week

Former Take That manager Nigel Martin-Smith is said to be pursuing legal action against Robbie Williams over a song included on his forthcoming album Rude Box.

Martin-Smith was first alerted to the subject matter of the track, entitled The 90s, in September after Williams made reference to the song’s lyrics in an interview with The Sun’s Victoria Newton. After threat of legal action the track was subsequently pulled from review copies of the album and a cloud was cast over its inclusion on the forthcoming album.

Last week The 90s was returned to review copies having undergone changes to its lyrics in an attempt to remove any offending subject matter, and EMI confirmed that it would be included on the new album.

In a story in The Sun over the weekend however it was claimed that Martin-Smith has served a High Court writ against Williams and his record label Chrysalis, demanding £300,000 in damages.

Chris Coppeller of Nigel Martin-Smith management declined to comment as the matter is sub-judice.

Oh-oh. That doesn't sound good. Sounds to me like there is still a danger the album could be delayed although the lyrics are not on there anymore. This is turning into a real nightmare, for me anyway

Robbie invites you to entertain him with your short film

Robbie Williams is collaborating with independent filmmakers to create seven original short films using the tracks from his new album Rudebox. He wants you to provide the eighth

Robbie Williams is inviting independent filmmakers to provide the eighth short film for his track The 80's from his new album Rudebox.

The winner, chosen by Robbie Williams, other industry greats including Lord Putnam and the public, will win a £7,500 prize. There is a further prize of £7,500 for the winning film as voted by the public.

Robbie says he is "delighted" to be supporting independent film talent with an opportunity like this competition, which is a collaboration between RobbieWilliams.com and Shooting People.

"This is the record I've always wanted to make. It's reignited how I think about what I can do with music myself, 'Rudebox' was done in a guerrilla way, no plan of action, it just evolved into what it is naturally," says Robbie.

"That's what I like about film today and why I wanted to do this project and competition. Just like in music, you can create a masterpiece out of an i-book and some digital footage, as much as you can in a fancy studio. That's how 'The 80s' began life itself, in my bedroom in LA with my friend Jerry messing around on my Mac. I'm very excited to see what the film makers can come up with."

How you choose to create your film is entirely up to you!. It can be as straightforward or as complicated as you like using dialogue, sound design, or simply the track on its own.

To enter you need to register with Shooting People , where you can download The 80's track and get more information on how to enter.

They are also offering use of the crew/cast and other contracts they provide on the site.

The deadline for entries is November 13.

Well.....with all these rumours: does anyone know if RW IS indeed leaving EMI? And what with The In Good Company and Chrysalis then?

Saw a lot of you guys and girls made a profile on MySpace.com, very nicely done!

Took me whole day.. I finally succeed to make a profile, still gotta pimp my page. See you at MySpace :cheer:

This is shocking. Apperently a journalist from the Mirror has joined Digital Spy and posted the following in a Robbie thread :o

"My name is Louisa Pilbeam and I am a journalist at the Sunday Mirror newspaper.

If anyone out there has any stories they think we would be interested in then let me know...

Has anyone met a Robbie or another celeb, did he try it on with you, do you know any celebrity gossip???

Robbie Williams to judge 80s film contest

Singer Robbie Williams has asked a group of movie directors to create a short film for his song 'The 80s', which features on his new album 'Rudebox'.

The singer will judge the films with television presenter and film critic Jonathan Ross and filmmaker David Puttnam.

Williams has asked seven young independent filmmakers to submit films that will complement the material on his new album.

The singer said: "This is the record I've always wanted to make. It's reignited how I think about what I can do with music myself."

"'Rudebox' was done in a guerrilla way, no plan of action, it just evolved into what it is naturally. That's what I like about film today and why I wanted to do this project and competition."

"I'm very excited to see what the film-makers can come up with," he said.

The winner of the contest will receive £7,500. There is also a possibility that the winning movie will be broadcast.
