Pop singer Vanessa Carlton, who has had hit singles with "Ordinary Day", "White Houses" and the hugely successful "A Thousand Miles", will shock fans all around the world by moving to rap label 'The Inc' (lead by Irv Gotti) for the release of her third album which is currently untitled.

Carlton also has announced that she'll be known as V.Carlton instead of Vanessa Carlton. "V has always been my name, so it's not really a name change" says the 24 year old pop singer.

Vanessa also finished a tour with Stevie Nicks where she (Carlton) debuted the songs "Best Behaviour", "Put Your Hands On Me", "All Is Well", "This Time" and "The One" which are all set to be released on the new album due for a release in spring 2007.

Oh dear, oh dear -_- I've actually got an old clip of This Time and it doesn't sound too urbanish so god knows what will happen now :(

I always thought her songs would be far too delicate for this sort of sound :(

Following in Nelly Furtado's footsteps I see.

Expect Sheryl Crow to guest on a 50 Cent song and Michelle Branch if she ever makes a comeback solo single to feature P. Diddy, Ludacris, Nelly, Snoop Dogg and Twista.

ive heard all about vanessa carlton. im a big fan and im on her site all the time.

all the new songs that she has played in concert, have sound nothing like urban. she just wouldnt.

and tbh i dont think ive ever really heard ''vanessa carlton style piano'' used in urban.

so in other words, dont come to the conclusion which some other people have already.

Oh DEAR.

Are we gonna have a crack at being Ashanti now? :arrr:

I think she'd need to try harder than Ashanti. Where is SHE these days? :(

i was just gonna ask that wasnt she releasing a greatest hits, not sure if it was released or not but if so it was a big flop

she may become an Alicia Keys! :o

then again that might be a good thing as it seems that ms keys is turning into dale winton looking at the very orange colour of alicia on the (red) concert show today

I'm not sure what to make of Make Love To Me, it's a blatant Maneater rip-off and most people already hate it, but it's growing on me...

This is the best thing ever

Seriously its as hilarious as Westlife turning into a an American rap act

Oh Nessiepoos :( She was a bit bland anyway even though 'A Thousand Miles' is just such a beautiful song one of my favourites I found the album c**p - the last album was slightly better but I am really not sure what to make of this.

Rob is that song you mentioned of her? If so I must hear :smoke:

Her album, "Heroes and Thieves", is now finished and it's still the same style of her previous records. She's hoping for a song called 'My Best' to be the lead single, but who knows.

GO V.

Harmonium is one of the most underrated gems on this planet!

I can't wait for this one!

If there's anything like 'Papa' or 'Half a week before the winter' on here, it will be immense.

there's a song she performed a while back called "all is well" which is kinda dark like those two songs. here's a little clip of her playing it. i think you might like it....

Oh I saw this a month ago - I love is!

Thank you for showing it to me again!

It's hard to imagine her pulling it off :( , But I wish her the best.

she isn't going to do anything urban, it'll still be the same sound. the only reason she did that track with 7 is because they're label mates lol.
