April :wub: So underrated.

 

'May I call you jiggly?' and 'Very st tropez' will remain one of my favorite drag race quotes ever. Jiggly was such a mess though. Her snatch game was (lashauwn) beyond awful.

Morgan McMichaels lip sync to 'Two Of Hearts' is definitely one of my favourites of all time, how to do a fantastic lip sync without throwing every trick in the book in the mix.

Morgan McMichaels' lip sync was indeed amazing. Really thought he was a front runner in quite a weak season, but he really fizzled out quite soon after that.

So this bunch just missed a spot in the top 40, and kicking us off in 44th is Season 7's Max. I adored Max, at the time she was so different from any other queen to be on drag race, she did old Hollywood glamour right, how it should be done, and right from the off showed she was a force to be reckoned with. Of all the queens that sashayed away over the years, I think I found Max's one of the hardest to take; not because in the week she was eliminated she didn't deserve to go, because her Sharon Needles Snatch Game was very weak, and her lip sync performance was a bit messy, but what I found difficult about Max sashaying away was the fact that she really could have won Season 7. She was the first queen to make it to 2 challenge wins of the season 7 queens, winning the Shakesqueer challenge, and the Despy awards while partnered with Pearl. She also churned out some great runway looks, as well as being great at the challenges, the jet set eleganza in particular was great. Another thing that bothered me about Max's time on the show, was Michelle's weird vendetta against her grey hair, like I didn't get it. Lots of queens in the past have worn the same wig colour pretty much the entire season, Courtney act as a Blonde springs to mind, as well as many others, so why was it such a big issue? Ridiculous if you ask me. Unfortunately despite being a front runner, Max only made it to week 7, and falls lower then I would have liked to have seen her here, though does pick up some good scores to score a middle 6 average.

 

Another season 7 queen bites the dust next, with the insanely lovable Mrs Kasha Davis, the international celebrity housewife because of that one time she performed in Canada. I love Kasha, she was so much fun on season 7, and I was gutted when she left, because I felt like she was exactly the kind of light hearted work horse queen the competition needed. Kasha lasted 5 weeks in season 7 doing pretty decently in all the challenges she was present for, except Despy awards which got her sent home. I don't mean to keep complaining about season 7/just in general, but I felt Kasha got a very raw deal the week a queen came back. All of the queens in untucked believed Kasha and Katya were gonna win that challenge, and they should have done, they were easily the best, obviously for story lines and given what had happened in week 4, Trixie was brought back, which was fine, Trixie;s amazing, but still Kasha was robbed. No matter, Kasha is a big fan favourite now, after sticking out in season 7, and has been very honest about her troubles with alcoholism since leaving the show, so props to you Mrs Kasha Davis, international celebrity housewife because of that one time you performed in Canada! :wub:

 

A small break from the season 7 cast, as season 2's Pandora Boxx drops out in 42nd. Pandora was a shining light in season 2, she made you laugh were her slapstick comedy, and hilarious Carol Channing impersonation, but also made a lot of viewers shed a tear when opening up about her failed suicide attempt. In terms of her challenge record, for the 8 weeks she was present, Pandora excelled at almost every task, but never winning any unfortunately, and then was eliminated in the make over challenge after falling victim to another amazing Jujubee lip sync. She went on to claim MC however, and then appeared on 1 episode of All Stars, which tbh the less said about that the better. Since leaving the show though, Pandora has remained completely relevant, amazing considering her season finished 6 years ago!

 

Finally of this bunch we have Season 7 runner up, Ginger Minj. Ginger was a funny one, because at times I found her and the bitter old lady brigade unbearable, but there was no denying she is a fierce queen. I'll admit, I was shocked when she didn't win. As much as I was team Pearl, and after that team Violet, I was sure Ginger would win, she seemed to have the most complete story mixed with talent of the 3, and therefore I thought she'd get it, but thankfully Violet won, and Miss Ginger finished 2nd/3rd (probably 2nd). She was fantastic in her own right though, her Adele Snatch Game was great and very funny, and I think I'd be quite interested to see how she's developed as a queen if she were to be cast on AS2.

Ginger got a bit too bitter and competitive near the end of her season, but she was so so talented, and I really do think she was a sweetheart underneath it all. She could never serve looks the way Violet and Pearl could, but I actually sometimes think Ginger would have been a better winner as she was more of an all-rounder and really delivered in comedy/acting. Eggs eggs eggs.

Okay so as we're now in the top 40, imma start revealing these two at a time, as we have reached the very best Drag Race has to offer (though there are a couple I'd swap out :lol: ) until we get to the top 20, then I'll reveal them one at a time, as they're the best of the best.

39th Kennedy Davenport: 6.7

Okay so kicking off the top 40, we have a tie. Season 7's 4th place queen Kennedy Davenport, and Season 5's 7th placed IVVVVVVYYYYYYYY WINTERRRRRSSSSSSSS. Let's start with Kennedy. I must admit I'm a little surprised to see her this high, not because she doesn't deserve to be, because she's insanely talented, but I thought she would suffer from quite a few harsh scores, but she didn't score anything below a 3, so I'm pleasantly surprised. Kennedy had several highs on Season 7. The Littler Richard Snatch Game was phenominal, and tbh should have won on it's own, not as part of a tie. She was also great at the parody challenge winning that one as well, but possibly most iconically, slaying us all in that outstanding lip sync against Katya. Drag Race has had some brilliant lip sync for your lives, but very few have made my literally gag with pure excitement. It made me weep a little with joy tbh, it was fantastic, possibly my second fav that's ever been. So for that reason alone, Kennedy earns her place in the top 40! Then we have the adorable Ivy Winters, who IMO, in a strong season of potential winners in season 5, was the first of who I considered the big guns, to leave in week 7. Ivy gave us some fantastic runway looks, the stilts, the dress made of pictures of herself, the goldfish dress, et al. She also was strong in pretty much every challenge, rarely being just safe, and only being in danger after snatch, and for her perfume commercial, which paired with her questionable lip sync style, would ultimately be her demise. She was also one of the only queens to give Jinkx the time of day which also gives her plus points in my book. For a queen that was so lovable, and so talented, I'm surprised to not see her higher tbh. Would be in my top 20-25 easy, but I thought if she were to finish lower than that it would maybe because she would pick up too many middle scores. I mean she got quite a few 6s and 7s, but also 5 9s, and 2 10s, and the 2 -1s prove to be very costly, and drag her average down to a questionable 6.7. So my question is, Simon, Leonardo, what on earth did Ivy do to make you give her -1s? :lol: Not pointing fingers, just interested :wub: I would have predicted she was far too inoffensive to get anyone's -1s

Still can't understand that for the life of me. Ivy is probably one of the most consistent runway queens I've ever seen on Drag Race. I reckon if I did a rundown of my favourite ever Drag Race looks she would feature heavily, everything was just so perfectly executed. On top of that, what a kind and lovable personality.

Until those last two episodes she was in, Ivy was very strong! And a great little personality too! How on earth did she get two -1s when there are people like Serena ChaCha in the same season?!

38th Tatianna: 6.71

In 38th we have the final queen to score an average below 7, Tatianna. Tatianna finished 4th in Season 2, being in 2 lip syncs, the first sending home Puerto Rican princess Jessica Wild, and the second being eliminated by Jujubee. Tatianna had a mixed challenge record, winning Snatch Game for her amazing Britney impersonation, and also placing high in the make over challenge; though struggled in the Wedding Dress challenge, the Book challenge, and the Diva Ball. However what makes Tati an iconic queen, and probably in my top 7 or 8 of any drag race queen, is her on camera remarks while not in the work room. People might label her bitchy, and tbh she was, but everything she said was f***ing hilarious, and actually right on the money, and I loved her for it. She had such an impact on Season 2, her fued with Raven falls just below Alyssa vs Coco in terms of my all time favourites, and tbh the sole reason why Season 2 is such an enjoyable season to watch, my favourite of the old Drag Race seasons (when the show still felt like it was in it's infancy pre-season 4). She has developed soooo much since the her very naive green days of season 2 style wise too, and she is really serving it now, and personally would love it if she were cast on AS2, because I think she could be a force to be reckoned with with! Score wise, Tati got off to a fantastic start picking up and 11, a 9, and lots of 8s, and at one point had an average of above 8.5 if I remember rightly, but a couple of low-mid scores came in towards the end, and pull her significantly down, which is a shame, but thrilled she made top 40 all the same :wub:

 

How U Doin Mis Amores, are you ready for the CUCU?!! Our reigning Miss Congeniality is here from Austin, Texas y'alllllll. God I love Cynthia, soooo much, what an absolutely beautiful human being, how someone can be that nice and positive is astonishing, but insanely adorable, and possibly one of the most universally loved queens Drag Race has given us over the past 8 years. I was so happy for Cynthia when she won MC, I thought Thorgy would get it, but justice came through, and Miss Cucu snatched it, which if nothing else is amazing because it means she'll get her cameo at next season's reunion! :cheer: If we were solely basing this on her performance on DR then of course there would be an argument to say she's too high in this rate, and in truth maybe due to Season 8 being so recent, she is, but at the same time the fact that she was eliminated on week 3, and still remained relevant to the fans speaks testament to her Charisma, and being that's one of the requirements set by God herself, I think she's placed around about the right place :wub:

Oh also, I forgot to say, if y'all haven't checked out Cynthia's YouTube show: 'Memoirs of my Cucu', it's hilarious and I recommend highly :wub:

I loved Tati, sure she was a bit unpolished (but who wasn't that cycle?), she had some real shining moments - Snatch Games being one. Her personality was great and I really felt sorry for her when Raven and co. ganged up a little.

 

Cynthia was pretty crap to be honest, her funniest moments were unintentional, as much as she did make me laugh out loud so many times. Talent wise, she's a bit too high, but she had such a bright personality, I don't mind so much.

REALLY looking forward to seeing Tattianna again, if the All Stars rumours are true! Surprised to see Kennedy ahead of Ginger here :o

Tatianna is the worst I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THE HYPE she's terrible whereas Ivy Winters is Drag Queen Gold dust - so loveable, how can anyone NOT adore her omg

36th Jessica Wild: 7.08

Finishing in a very respectable 36th is our golden shild, Jessica Wild. Jessica is another incredibly lovable queen, this time from season 2. Jessica became a big fan favourite from Drag Race, after managing to avoid getting involved in any of the fights or squabbles that the other girls did, instead concentrating on her own work, but remaining pleasant to everyone. Jessica proved a tough queen in the challenges too, up until her elimination in week 7, not once being in danger of elimination prior to the book challenge, and winning the rock challenge. TBF as well, her f*** up in the book challenge is absolutely iconic: Jessica Wild...Dreams of a Golden Shild (zzz), and then the interview: oh i love that...Berry acai (???). Oh I love that drink. ICONIC. Jessica has remained loved, and relevant, still touring the world a whole 6 years later, and I'm thrilled to see her do so well here! ESCANDALO!

 

Up Next is Season 6's Milk. Milk lasted 6 weeks on S6, being sent home by lip sync assassin Trinity K Bonet, in a fantastic battle by both queens. Milk came in for a lot of criticism for her unique style from some of the other queens on her season (Gia, Darienne) but her totally original style made her such a unique character, and I really wish she could have stook around longer. She did have her struggles though, her snatch game was week, and her rap was also pretty bad, but largely it was her shock value on the runway which made her so special. The fact she came out as boy Ru on the night of a thousand Ru's runway, was iconic, and divided fans across the board, and it was the ability to divide audiences which drew me to her. Out of drag she is stunningly gorgeous, and a big fan favourite amongst us thirsty gays for being so damn fine :angel:

Milk is way too high, some interesting ideas but executed poorly for the most part. Would though.

I loved Milk, I loved how out there he was and thought he brought a hell a lot of fun to Season 6.

Okay kicking off the final results of the night is the lovably kooky Tammie Brown. Tammie's standing in the drag race community is quite remarkable really. For a queen who lasted to week 2 on Season 1, to be so loved and unique, to then be brought back for All Stars, and then only last 2 episodes again, yet still be held in such high regards is quite an achievement. The thing is with Tammie, is she's such an original, Drag Race has never had another queen like her, and never will, her Tammie crazy is so unique, and authentic that she just seems like such a special part of Drag Race history. I remember watching a Fashion Photo Ruview once, and they were tooting and booting one of Tammie's instagram photos, and Raven said something like there are a few queens who are worthy of an expletive in their name: Latrice motherf***ing Royale, and Tammie motherf***ing Brown, and that rings true to me. She's just such a fascinating character in the best way possible, and forever one of Drag Race's most iconic!

 

The wonder from down under is up next, Miss caught in the act. Low key dying that the "low rent" version of Courtney has outlasted the original :lol: . Courtney is a funny one, because since leaving the show, I've become a huge fan. She has bags of personality, is a truly lovable character, and actually quite funny, as well as insanely fishy and gorgeous. On the show however, I found her stale at times. She was obviously very talented, but her brilliance seemed to come in flashes for me, and despite never being in real trouble of elimination, she couldn't seem to get a good run of good performances together to snatch the crown. Of all the queens ever on DR she seemed to be one of the ones that appeared to rely on their obvious beauty a lot, in order to coast through the competition, which is a shame really, because seeing her now, she obviously had it, we just didn't get to see it enough. Fully deserves her spot this high though, because when she was good, she was oh so good, and was never really bad at anything, so...
