but why tim? if tim wasn't YTD 01 someone else would be? would the same happen to them? there's obviously some sort of specific 'conspiracy' that you all seem to know about that i don't!

I respect that you're trying to make it fair and stick to the rules etc but this really isn't fair in the least and I'm not just saying this because Tim is my friend but I feel like there's a bit of victimisation going on here. James is well known for playing his entries on plug, and I mean constantly (I'm not trying to drag others down here I'm just pointing it out), many, many of us share potentials, that's even discussed in the confirmations threads so often, and then you get those that come on plug and share their song claiming it's just a """"potential"""", with all those quotation marks included so everyone knows it's what they've settled on. If you've decided to come down hard on the no sharing rule this month you should have reiterated that at the beginning instead of just chosing one person the night the semis are supposed to go up to make an example of them, I'm sure there's more than just Tim that's guilty of sharing songs this contest, and every contest for that matter. The fact it was his second confirmation as well shows that it wasn't even his first choice and wouldn't have been what he'd ultimately send to people... What proof do you have that he did "overstep the line" on this rule?

Look, I'm not saying this is a thing to throw me off that #1 spot or anything, it's just very weird how this played out.

More details will be in the PM to the mods, as Ihave calmed down now.

Yeah I meant that as in "this spells "sketchy" in giant bolded caps"

Actually, I knew 5 /11 - out of the unknown ones, I really enjoyed 'Fool's Gold' and 'Arigato' is quite good, too.

I really can't add too much to the veto framework-debate, as I'm not in the UK, I consider different stuff veto-worthy (I guess I 'work from' different sources) and there are 2-3 entries every month that I've heard 50+ times. On the other hand, I don't know 90% of the forums/blogs that are mentioned while calculating the veto points.

I really really doubt this is a "let's knock Tim off of #1 YTD", otherwise it's just Lotti instead and she's in our "clique" too so would this then happen to her next month?
like i would let anyone come for me on the ytd. yes lew thats a direct threat i'll FIGHT u xxxxxxx

She will fight you via Pictochat xoxoxxoxo

so you're saying that you didn't vote to veto tim's song? ;)

Did the mods know it was Tim's entry? I thought that bit was hidden to them

i'm assuming they had the ability to work it out what with knowing the song name/seeing the clue :')

Well Tim's post in his thread was of a blushing emoticon so it's not exactly much guesswork they needed to do.

Btw I do believe that having a whole week for confirmations is too long.

40% of the members confirm something in the first 3 hours and keep changing it during the week, half of these start with veto-worthy stuff, because they still have days to submit something else if option 1 is a veto. Another huge % confirms in the last 1-2 days (like me), but NOT due to lack of time - simply changing a not-yet-submitted entry in my head is a bit easier than actually resubmitting. I know I don't need a week, the ones who submit an entry on day 1 definitely don't need a week and perhaps there wouldn't be this many veto-worthy entries if we had less time for this 'procedure'.

I'm not blaming the ones who submit entry on day 1 (and keep changing it) and I'm not blaming the ones who leave it for the last minute, but we do this because we CAN, with less time to confirm this might change for the better.

Before I forget: I LOVE that the Beaverdonia-contest hasn't even started and it's already a mess :teresa:

Okay for "transperency's sake" and so everyone knows my thoughts on this matter, here is my PM to the mods as well. I'm very passionate about this song and the contest, which is why it was even harder for me to accept it's faith. Anybody mentioned in this PM, I'm not throwing yall under the bus, y'all were just used as examples as to why it seemed unfair to me.

Okay here it goes.

First of all I would like to issue an apology. My reaction in the thread (I shall be posting this here too) may have been slightly overboard, where it shouldn’t have, and I has said things I shouldn’t have. But I got very angry and when I’m angry I don’t really think, which obviously isn’t an excuse. But right now I cannot do anything about it anymore other than opologise for my actions, accusations I made and my so called “hissy fit” and try to prevent it from happening the next time.

The reason this has happened is because around the forum I have noticed a Tim vs The Rest mentality going on, which has been show non multiple occasions (the most obvious being the recent lounge events when TheSnake arrived and 5 pages of accusation of hostility came in rolling towards me, with several mods standing from the sidelines, just to later tell me I didn’t deserve that to happen to me. They failed to do their job and I became a victim of that. Now I’m not here to cry about being a victim of whatever is going on, I’m just trying to reason with y’all so you can kind of see where I am coming from. Above that the posts that have been made to my adress came across as very degrading towards myself, as if I should be thankful so not be suspended for life or something.

Now off to the contest itself and my veto. Like I have said in the thread I got very angry at being vetoed. I can understand most of them, including my own like Ego, and can see the reasoning behind them. With Blush however I fail to see why it got excluded. There’s several reasons fort hat

1. If you look in the thread, there has been an overwhelming amount of responses in my support. While I do not think mods should listen to the people at all time, in several case, like this one, they might consider it. Since I got accused of oversharing my entry and gathering a lot of support beforehand, it seems to me that most people would have to agree with it. Many people have expressed their displeasure about this song being veteod as literally 5 people knew about it beforehand and posted about it in my national thread.

2. Plenty of people have played their songs on things like plug and I honestly don’t see what the difference is with me. Yes I posted a hint, but so do so many others and some are even more obvious than mine. I’ve seen people post lyrics of songs, which would lead to the song by a quick google. I’ve seen people post obscure pictures, yet still get massive YASSS and SLAAY in their thread. What makes them different from me? Is it because I got 5 replies? Is it because my song, on those 2 or 3 occasions I played it in the past few months, clicked with more people than those? I think it’s very unfair that I got the shit thrown at me for this, when there’s been plenty of other cases. I get that you have to make a stance somehow, but that could be with a warning as well. I’m gonna give you some examples of recent times. I’m not throwing anyone under the bus with this or at least I’m not trying to but yeah.

- Mdh’s original entry got hyped by himself in his thread by posting lyrics, that lead directly to his entry on the first link of google. His veoted entry got hyped by psoting lyrics as well, which lead to the stevie wonder song it sampled.

- Lotti has hyped up her entries way more than I did. For example, people knew about Daddy Says Know far more than they did about Blush. That didn’t make it a winner, in fact it missed the top 5. Even for this month, Dan, Cody and I knew what her entry was just by the word trance. The same with Girli.

- Liam has played his song on plug and hinted to it as italian trashy rap, a very specific term. The ones that heard it would’ve known exactly what he’d sent

- Cody posted lyrics to his most recent song as well. They lead to a song lyrics website on the first google results.

- Jade posted a hint which lead to Jakewild loving it, as well as Bre knowing about the song beforehand.

- James plays plenty of potentials on plug to dozens of people, even more than the average person does, it’s just that nobody really loves them, that they stay hidden.

- Bal posted lyrics to his february entry, which lead directly to his entry. The same goes for his 84 & 85 entry. Since his 86 entry hasn’t been revealed yet, I can’t say fors ure, but it does lead to a song.

Besides these examples I could find on the first page BJSC in the national threads, PLENTY of people ask for help with their entries via PM and PLENTY of others play their potentials on plug. Just because 5 people liked it enough to get hyped about it (2 of these people literally begged me to send it) doesn’t justify this “massive buzzjack following” in my eyes. Right now it feels likei t was cut out because too many people liked it. It;’s not like 5 people are gonna bring it to the top spot, nor do 5 people guarantee a qualification. I’m being punished for sending a good song right now. That’s how it feels.

3. The song itself is UNKOWN. These girls have never achieved anything, nor have they even charted in charts around the world. It would’ve been a discovery to 95% of the contest.

Right now I feel very unfairly treated. As I pointed out I am not the only one to hint their songs and there have been more obvious hints. To pick me out of it and make me an example feels like there is something against me, which is why I blurted that out in the thread. There is other ways this could’ve been solved, more civil ways.

A simple PM, asking me to remove the hint or y’all deleting the comments and letting me know about it would’ve sufficed. Besides that a simple warning to my adress, would’ve scared me enough to not do it again and if done publicly, it’d have given of a great signal as well. Obviously what is done is done and I can’t change that, but it’s just something I personally would like to tell you for future reference, cause as you can see in the thread, a lot of people disagree with the way this has went.

I am pleading to y’all to reverse this decision and view this from my own and other non-mods’ points of views.
