I do think the current OA/OS system has kinda screwed over these type of releases though. Dance songs like these were the ones with majorly held back release dates, enabling them to chart!

Well we have seen some dance songs do well regardless recently, such as MK 'Piece of Me' - so it's not impossible for this to be a minor hit.

Well Drake's streams have rocketed again. Up at 464k which is very high for a weekday. It means by my calculation he'll get around 63k this week.

But its not all down to his 59p effect, his streams have really picked up (for whatever reason).

Jonas Blue holding steady though here on iTunes, his streams are up near 350k, should get around 60k himself next week if he can hold is iTunes lead.

I think it's likely Jonas Blue will overtake Drake next week - but he'll remain at #2 in the chart because of Major Lazer's release.

Depends on Drake's video which is about to come out. You'd assume another boost from that? Maybe towards 70k next week?

I think its a bit too late with the video, its hardly going to add anything to it, if Major Lazer opens up with 40k+ on the first set of mids, Drake will still fall a place. Bit pointless dropping a video now, when something else is about to drop.

Basically if they get airplay they can become potential hits.

It's leaked in full in a low quality and it sounds like something that could easily go straight in at #1. It's got a 'Waves' vibe to it and makes good use of Justin's voice. I think people will jump to it.

Ooh didn't realise it had leaked, will have to find it and give it a listen. As far as Drake being at #1 is concerned though, I've learnt that anything can happen!

I think Major Lazer will safely be #1

**Drake reduces One Dance to 19p on Google play, releases Justin Bieber remix, blocks the release of Major Lazer on Spotify and drops an Apple Music exclusive video just to get 16th week at #1**

(imagine if that actually happened though  I wouldn't put it past them, they really want that record)

They will definitely do something. It will probably be the video

If he beats Bryan Adams' record, it would be a massive insult to a living legend

I actually think One Dance is better than Everything I Do (I Do It For You) though. It's kind of like choosing between Clinton and Trump mind you, but still....

Would it not matter so much if Bryan Adams was dead then?

Maybe bryan should re release everything i do on friday

Because Bryan is a legend and Drake isn't

What defines a 'legend' exactly?

Am I the only one who thinks Cold Water is absolutely dreadful?

I do prefer it to be at least lukewarm.

Nope.

I think it's an uninspired rip-off of 'Waves' and is kind of indicitative of the kind of chart hits we have been getting this year. Instead of anything actually interesting I feel like we have had such a trend for dance music which deliberately tries not to hit too hard and be very easy listening and inoffensive (Jonas Blue as prime example). This is just another track along those kind of lines and by following this trend it is another addition to making dance chart hits feel duller and duller, with no real intent behind them apart from just making an "easy-listening" chart hit. Major Lazer are capable of so much more.

How is Too Good doing? Would love to see that overtake One Dance.

So proud of M.O, MØ and Dua
