no, that is combined sales. it was 90-something last week on downloads.

I knew it would flop.

 

Virtually no radio support plus the fact it's such a boring song imo!!!!

Weak single

+ No promotion

+ No airplay

+ All the Christmas play

= FLOP

it did well to get top40, many people haven't heard the song or knew it was out, zero promotion by sony and limited exposure, radio1 blacklisted again, the song had little chance so much going against it, i hope sony spend some money promoting her next time!!

 

there is a slight chance if beautiful liar is huge sony may want to capitalise on it and release a 4th single but its about timing they need to move with it by late january which is when BL will just be getting into its stride, the OF2 era should be officially over by late march when shakira wraps her tour

I wonder if radio1 will play the Shakira/Beyonce duet since they love Beyonce but blacklist shakira

There's no way this'll bomb outside the top 40. We all know that she's made a mistake waiting so long to release such a weak single. But this'll still sell more than HDL next week.

 

It doesn't really matter now. Shakra is already the biggest selling artist of the year and has a one of the biggest selling tours of the year as well.

 

It would've been nice for this to do well but if she refuses to do any promo anywhere - then what can she expect other than a flop.

 

# 34. I wasn´t so wrong after all. It´s just a few positions higher then Hips, and probably will be below next week. And by the way, Shakira isn´t the best selling artist of the year.

^^^ she is worldwide, combined albums and singles she is the biggest selling artist of 2006 and it was confirmed by musicweek last month and its stated on hmv's site too

This summer Shakira has sold more albums, singles, downloads and videos in the world than any other act.

Yes she is the biggest female act of this year worldwide... she may not be in the uk but who cares.. it is one tiny country that thinks it's music industry is far better than anywhere else in the world when it isn't... it's sales are stupidly low too -_-

 

Radio one will playlist the beyonce/shakira song due to beyonce.. which isn't fair :( but meh hopefully it will do well.. i think that will be the last we hear from shakira for a few years then..
