She did with Hips Don't Lie. She edited it in London because after she filmed the video she was doing promo for DB in the UK.

Video for Illegal will be shot during the little break in the tour schedule, between the concerts in Mexico and Guatemala. Jaume de Laiguana and Shakira will co-direct the video.

 

The single will be relesed as a commercial CD single in November.

 

I know a lot of fans don't really like Juame's videos but I really like No and Don't Bother. Dia De Enero was a bit poor but that was obviously budget and time restraints. I'm looking forward to this.

Well, it was confirmed that the single version would be a remix of the album version, but nobody knows what it will be. For all we know, it could be the full version of what we heard on promosquad or it could be something completely different.

 

I think people are praying it's not the promosquad because it wasn't very good really. However, personally, I believe it will be the promosquad version just because of a few hints I've seen around.

shakira is in good hands with jaume, he has a good visual eye and gives her artistic earthy videos some part of 'no' with the butterfly wings and shakira coming to the camera with the light behind her so stunning!! plus i love the slo mo jump part sequence in "don't bother" with yellow light behind shakira...very good it was bring on more videos with shakira's concepts and his execution = greatness

the promosquad mix seems to have been tweaked until sony& shakira agreed on it cause the first version was quite poor the main issue was the casio keyboard beat, maybe shakira rejected it and explains the reason why it took so long to release "illegal", the clip i've heard of the new mix is much better, theres not much you can do to remix a downtempo track and still keep it downtempo, the changes are subtle but they work i hope we get the full version soon

 

 

ooh Im glad theyve chanegd it a bit, i havent had a chance to download the new version yet, but it sounds like its more promising than the original promosquad mix!

The only competition I see on there is Fergie, I love that song!!!

I have the full Ali Dee Remix - it's basically just the promosquad version except the levels of some of the instruments have been tweaked like perfecto said.

I don't think it's too bad actually. The only thing I really dislike is the guitar solo which doesn't go with the beat at all.

 

Illegal was never single material and neither is the remix. It just comes across as a really mediocre and cheap ballad now - at least the original is slightly unique. The remix sounds quite dated, like something from the 90's.

 

I really hope most radios opt for the Album version and I hope they use the album version for the video. There's something more appealing about the album version even if it's not commercial.

 

Video was shot today and yesterday in Mexico :o I'm expecting it to drop next week.

i'm sure her schedule has been planned in advance priority goes to "illegal" video shoot as soon as her north american tour finished so they can get things moving with the next single

 

the new "illegal" version is much better and more radio friendly than the album version i think it has greater potential now i do love it really i do

I heard the edit version but i didn't like it :mellow: !!!!!!!! i like the original IS WAY BETTER!

The original version is better, but I think it would have sounded out of place on radio, and the edit gives it that radio appeal.

 

It is much better when heard in HQ, I hope the video is awesome :wub:
