November 17, 200618 yr Author That's great! TOTP2 shows loads of archive performances and throws in a few new things too :D
November 17, 200618 yr well i think totp never actually finished, so they have started to mix new performances in with old, to keep the totp2 producers in business.
November 18, 200618 yr thanks for the info!! terrestial exposure is really good so many acts are doing so much promo right now i hope shakira's "illegal" has a chance against all of them!!
November 20, 200618 yr Author Director's cut version of the video is available here: http://www.laiguana.com/JAUME/ Click films and then music videos and it's the first one. See what you think.
November 21, 200618 yr i like it, he has put greater emphasis on the matches....the boxers progress, it no longer feels like a shakira video she doesn't have much screen time, he also cut the scenes of shakira in the ring :( but its still good i like the rowdy crowd parts best as shakira makes her way through them
November 22, 200618 yr She looks absolutely gorgeous in the video for this! The song is OK right now, but maybe it will grow on me?
November 22, 200618 yr it no longer feels like a shakira video she doesn't have much screen time, he also cut the scenes of shakira in the ring :( Yeah, probably that's the reason why I like the director's cut, lol. Shakira should pass on to the next director now, I think their creativity has got to a no-progress point. Shakira's acting skills are at her lowest in this video, on my EYES.
November 22, 200618 yr I still think it's a great video, but tbh I dont think the song stands much of a chance in the Xmas market
November 22, 200618 yr Author The single is gonna flop... They never shoulda released it. It was such a mistake. It's not even Top 100 on iTunes. We'll have our work cut out for this one. I hope the album picks up soon though. It pisses me off what a mess they've made with this project. Edited November 22, 200618 yr by Ashley
November 22, 200618 yr I totally agree with you. Illegal as itself is a good song, but not at all single material, especially in the Xmas market where the biggest names are bringing out there newest material and such. The fact that it isnt even in the iTunes top 100 shows this. The whole project was messed up imo. DB should never have been the lead single, it should have been AC. The febuary hey You, Followed in summer by Timor, and the album closed around this time by Your Embrace. I think if it was excecuted correctly there would never have been need for HDL, and the album would have stayed steady. The timing, choices and promotion have been f*cked with OF2
November 23, 200618 yr Author They messed up by releasing DB first, but then HDL came along and they've still managed to mess up. HDL was released to radios in February in America. She should've sent Animal City to radios end of July and then released the video mid August and then performed the it at the VMA's. Then she should've released Hey You around now to promote the deluxe edition for Christmas. Obviously the UK releases would be slightly different but you get the idea.
November 23, 200618 yr Author Director's Cut [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLJt72LmVZ4.swf
November 23, 200618 yr i love the original one  but i would take some parts of the directors cut one, for example i would cut the part she singing in front of the ring and the guy looks invisible in the back and i'd put it instead of some of the close ups the original has !!! i mean i would've put more medium shots just to see shaki a little bit more! ;)
November 23, 200618 yr some mistakes were made with the OF2 era, its true her marketing isn't as slick as other acts, timing was off too but the fact remains shakira is the biggest selling act this year globally, it just goes to show her record company can make mistakes but she is still strong even to shift incredible sales its such a shame animal city may never get released, but there is one positive thing that can happen as a result of "illegal" under performing it could bring about the 4th single in january/february cause her record company may want to keep momentum as she goes to europe to tour, i would love her to come to the UK with animal city as the final single from the OF2 era
November 23, 200618 yr new official "illegal" promo dance mixes have been made available tracklisting: 01. Johnny Vicious Warehouse Mix 02. Johnny Vicious Warehouse Radio Mix 03. Johnny Vicious Roxy Mix 04. Johnny Vicious Roxy Radio Mix 05. Johnny Vicious Ballroom Mix 06. Johnny Vicious Ballroom Dub the track listing sound interesting, i hope the mixes are half way decent, he did a good natasha bedingfield "unwritten" remix the promo cd is on ebay
November 24, 200618 yr so has illegal been sent to tv and radio in the usa? i havent heard much from over there. also, is anybody starting to worry about this in the uk? its still not played on tv and hardly ever on radio.
November 25, 200618 yr capital radio and radio 2 are playing it so it is getting some exposure i just hope sony back it up with a tv ad campaign
November 26, 200618 yr Author Shakira needs to get real and some friggin promo. Whenever Wherever is selling more than Illegal. They need to make HDL an "Album Only" song on iTunes and delete the single. EDIT: Entered the official download chart this week at 110... Edited November 27, 200618 yr by Ashley
