Out at the end of the month is a disaster movie based on the explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.

Looks ok, maybe one more for the visual / scale but I like Mark Wahlberg.

Getting surprisingly good reviews! I wonder if it will be able to make a profit in the end on its high budget if it gets good legs from now on. It reminded me a bit of Everest but on an oil rig instead of a mountain and was an equally solid film. Its high points were the CGI and also the family parts were very touching and really made you feel sad when losing that was at risk. I also liked the foreshadowing of the disaster with the coke can exploding at the start. I liked Gina Rodriguez, Mark Wahlberg and Kurt Russell the most of all the cast but everyone did a stellar job. I liked the way it didn't completely vilify the BP guys either, they ran their tests and they felt it was safe to keep on going, it's not as if they ignored all the signs and deliberately put peoples lives at risks. Overall, probably a 7.5/10, solid film!

I thought Everest was a lot better than this, I found this pretty disappointing. It felt rather slow, too much technical language and I didn't really care for any of the characters so the emotion that you were meant to feel at the end...was missing for me. One case where I was glad I'd bought some popcorn to keep myself occupied. :(
Yeah agree with the above^^ just ambled along for too long really & even when it got going I never really felt all that tense or invested in the movie. Acceptable, but doubtful something I would return to.
