Yeah promotion is never a bad thing, it's only natural for someone to want people to hear their songs! (although I think at this stage, I'm finding You Don't Know Love's chart performance kinda amusing, it's not totally happening even with all the pushes they're giving it oops)

It's not bad, it's just that whenever Olly does some promo he shoots back up the chart leading to his bizarre chart run which is somewhat of a joke among a few - hence Pete's joke about his chart run. :D

Yeah and what Joseph said, they are trying really hard to make it a hit :,)

because it gives them an unfair advantage over artists who don't get to promote themselves on TV(??)

but yeah it doesn't make Olly Murs or his label desperate, I'm sure people would be moaning just as much if Olly didn't do any TV appearances!!

You Don't Know Love is becoming the 2016 equivalent of Black Magic in terms of live performances.

Love Me Like You had A LOT more performances tbh.

The fact that the Olly song falls away easily enough after the promo shows that it's not impacting with the general public.

Exactly - whereas the songs that were promo'd a lot (Black Magic as previously suggested) generally benefited from the promo and could actually stabilise. It's sad to see Olly underperform though.

A good chunk of Black Magic's performances came because it was such a big hit anyway I think - both X Factor performances last year and the BRITs!
