Neither 2 of them have been hits but Secrets would make more sense if they were going to include him

PM made the top 20 but "Secrets" only made the top 50

I still wouldn't class Party Monster as a hit or well-known

The only reason Party Monster charted so well was because it was, for many people (including myself), one of the highlights of his album and thus generated a lot of streams. If it was released separately before the album I highly doubt it would've peaked as high as it did.

Party Monster was released as a promo single a week before the album.

PM charted when the album was released but it wasn't yet an official single. But a while later, it was made into an official single. "Dangerously" isn't an official single, it didn't chart at all and they put that on NOW 95

'Dangerously' didn't chart but it was an official single. It got a music video and radio playlisting.

I am aware that 'Party Monster' was made an official single a while after the album, but it was released a week before the album as a promotional single, entering at #33 and then climbing to #17 the following week when the album was released.

Dangerously was a single there was a music video and it was playlisted on both Radio 1 and Radio 2.

I've been thinking, there's a big chance we won't get Despacito on Now 97 primarily due to its phenomenal worldwide success. I remembered that big hits like One Dance and likely Shape Of You which were #1 at the times the previous volumes were released, and they were deliberately held off until the next volume.

I can see that happening with Despacito in an attempt to give it an even longer shelf life. :(

I don't see any reason why we shouldn't get "Despacito" on NOW 97. Main reason why "One Dance" was held back a NOW is because of Drake. You notice that artists like Drake and Ed only appear on numbered NOWs and not on any of their spin-offs or other compilations

I can't see Despacito being missed personally, it's on compilation albums across Europe at the time of writing when for comparison, Shape Of You still hasn't appeared on the likes of Bravo Hits in Germany/Absolute Music in Sweden etc.

That said, while the tracklisting for Bravo Hits 98 isn't out yet, the cover is - and it has Ed Sheeran on it. Seeing as Castle In The Hill was on Bravo Hits 97 I can only assume he's freed up the rights to Shape Of You now and presumably the same will be true for Now 97, unless it's Galway Girl

So tracklist is coming either Wednesday or Friday. I can't wait to find out what unknown/future hits will be featured. Now 95 did a good job as predicting future hits (see September Song) but Now 96 failed with almost all of them. Hopefully Now 97 will be full of chart hits from the last few months + hits for the coming months

On another note, what does everyone think to the album cover?

It follows the same concept used by the US version of Now 62 but with some extra detail.

Which design do you prefer and why?

I think it's safe to say Despecito and Shape of You will be on NOW 97. I'm more interested if Drake's Passionfruit appears and if DJ Khaled/Rihanna's collab appears either on 97 or 98. If we got "This Is What You Came For" we MIGHT get Wild Thoughts, but I'm not counting on it.

I do like how mysterious the NOWs have become just before the track listing due to copyright issues with artists now. Takes me back to the days of "will Sony artists make this one".

We got TIWYCF on 94 because Rihanna is only a featured artist. If DJ Khaled is the type of artist who allows their music to appear on compilations, then there's no reason why WT will be omitted from 97 or 98

It's not been announced that it will be released has it?

It doesn't always. Facebook is the best place to keep up to date.

I'm still expecting a Friday announcement.

They could at least reveal track 1 to us tomorrow or the day after and then the rest of the track list the day after track 1 is revealed
