Grammy award winner Beyoncé Knowles rose to fame as lead singer of all girl group Destiny's Child in the late 90's. Destiny's Child went on to release 5 studio albums and achieved 12 UK Top 10 singles, and 2 #1 singles. Destiny's Child split in 2006 which allowed Beyoncé to focus on her solo career. She went on to become the icon of every young girl who aspires to be a singer. Also famed for her acting, her fashion, her marriage to Jay-Z and her infamous dance routines too. Beyoncé continues to dominate the pop world and release platinum selling albums.

Girls Aloud

It was in 2002 on an ITV reality show called Popstars: The Rivals that a young Cheryl Tweedy auditioned to be a part of the girl group which was being formed. She was successfully chosen, and became one fifth of Girls Aloud. Along with the rest of her group, Cheryl went on to become one of the most successful British female singers of this century. Girls Aloud achieved a string of twenty consecutive top ten singles in the United Kingdom, including four #1 singles. Upon the groups hiatus, Cheryl did some solo work with The Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am who noticed her, and then went on to numerous solo albums and enjoy #1 singles as a solo artist.
