April 6, 20178 yr Marlon and Gabby saying goodbye to Ashley..  I am seriously not ready for tomorrow's episode. It could even top Hayley's (Corrie) death for me in terms of emotional impact.
April 7, 20178 yr A beautiful exit for Ashley, incredibly moving and I definitely shed a few tears. Ashley's one of the best characters they've had and he'll be sorely missed
April 10, 20178 yr I have championed this storyline, the script writing and performances the whole way through but I was very disappointed with the final scenes. The Marlon “nonsense” was awful. I am unsure if the having the whole “friends” around worked as I felt it should have been a family moment and I was disappointed neither Sandy or his kids or Laurel were actually with him when he died. I found it baffling about Laurel and the pillow as I was nearly screaming at the TV saying “don’t leave him to die on his own”. While it was a beautiful moment when he remembered Laurels name I feel if Laurel, Sandy, and his children were at his bedside when he died it would have been far more of a touching end. The actors delivered the scenes they had very well but sadly I think the scriptwriters slightly got his final scenes wrong which is a massive shame as outside of this the storyline was excellent.
April 10, 20178 yr I agree pippa, glad I'm not the only one! The fact he said Laurel and remembered her was still heartbreaking but I think it should have just been the family, it was a bit eh that the whole village was there and he slipped off when Laurel went to get a pillow. I sort of felt "is that it?" which I know sounds awful but that's how I can best describe how I felt
April 10, 20178 yr Danny who plays Aaron is a good actor but i must say the repetitive crying scenes he does have been used to often, he does this exactly the same each time. I too, am happy that others feel the same, Lieowstic. I hated having to say those comments as i have been in awe of this storyline, but the final scenes gave me a slight reminder of why until recently i was never a huge fan of the show in the way i was of other soaps. At the moment it is the best soap by far but they need to slightly improve on the conclusions to storylines. That said, i will be so disappointed if this storyline isnt the runaway winner at the Soap Awards this year.
April 10, 20178 yr I didnt like Ashleys final scenes either as i think it took away from what was actually happening. Like others have said i think it should have just been the family with him as the scenes would have been more hard hitting, there was far too many unnecessary distractions.
April 13, 20178 yr It's not often a TV show will bring me to tears but Emmerdale has managed it twice in a week :') that dream sequence with Laurel was a fantastic touch and perfectly executed, incredibly emotional  they deserve all the awards they can get for this storyline.
April 14, 20178 yr I would hope they don't put Laurel with Marlon again as that simply did not work. I have a suspicion Laurels alcohol addiction will come back in the storylines now.
April 14, 20178 yr Ashley's death moved me to tears...his funeral was even WORSE. My f***ing GOD.
April 18, 20178 yr Charlotte Bellamy and John Middleton have of course been longlisted at the soap awards, along with Danny Miller and Matthew Wolfenden for Best Actor and Zoe Henry and Natalie J Robb for Best Actress. Of course Charlotte should have this in the bag but I think it might be Kym Marsh from Corrie or Lacey Turner from EE. Surely there is no way John can lose best actor though!
May 8, 20178 yr Charlotte Bellamy and John Middleton have of course been longlisted at the soap awards, along with Danny Miller and Matthew Wolfenden for Best Actor and Zoe Henry and Natalie J Robb for Best Actress. Of course Charlotte should have this in the bag but I think it might be Kym Marsh from Corrie or Lacey Turner from EE. Surely there is no way John can lose best actor though! Charlotte certainly has tougher competition than John, Both should win hands down but it will be much harder for Charlotte. Lacey Turner in particular has a massive following and i do rate her a fantastic actress but due to rubbish scripts in EastEnders she has very little to work with. In contrast, Charlotte has had wonderful scripts and she was faultless in her portrayal.
May 9, 20178 yr The last few episodes have been painful. Megan and Jai bickering over their kid which we've seen a million times before, cownapping...and the chav guys with hideous accents who are about as intimidating as a pair of bananas running around the villiage terrorizing everybody? The one highlight? Charity's impersonation of Moira    Edited May 9, 20178 yr by jase.
July 5, 20177 yr I die inside a little every time whenever Laila/Pete/Priya are on screen. Outside of them, Emmerdale is still on top form atm! Loving the mystery surrounding Chrissie's past and I can't wait for Laurel to finally find out what happened with Emma and Ashley! Edited July 5, 20177 yr by jase.
