January 7, 20178 yr Author I loved Kung Fu Panda 3 and Hail Caesar Haven't seen Ice Age 5. Seen all the other four (The first I loved, the second I also enjoyed, the third I don't remember a lot of, the fourth pretty meh to me) Yeah, the Ice Age movies have definitely got progressively worse but it's still nice to catch up with the characters again so I still have fun watching them  Thanks for commenting Dalek! Agreed with what you've wrote about The Boss, as long as The Heat isn't intentionally missed out amongst Spy & Bridesmaids! I think you've placed it roughly right / imagine it'll be a similar area (or slightly lower) for me, some of it I found actively bad and cringe, the plot didn't work at all for me and neither did Melissa's wig. Tilda was my Hail, Caesar fave, followed by Alden. Don't think I was bothered about Channing but I don't remember much about it other than it being 'OK'. The Heat is kind of intentionally missed out, mainly because I've never seen it! It's one I keep meaning to pick up when I pop into town because I think I'd love it (I want to see Identity Thief too!!) but yeah, just need to find the time! I did quite like Melissa's wig though, clearly didn't suit her but it added to the fun of the character, as did the turtlenecks  Yeah, HC! hasn't really stood the test of time for me but I still remember having a good time and a few of the characters have stuck in my memory. Looking forward to seeing Alden's Han Solo in a year and bit! :D Thanks Jahq :D Not seen any of those (all for good reason, bar 'Hail Caeser!'). 'Kung Fu Panda 3': Didn't like the first two. So I avoided it. 'Warcraft': Fantasy just isn't my thing, for the most part. Plus, it's lukewarm reception put me off from watching it. HUGE in China (?) though, iirc! 'Hail, Caeser!': Reviews put me off of it, but I still wanna see it. The cast is too strong for me to just let it slip away. 'Ice Age': I Despise ALL the other movies, so was never gonna be interested in this. 'The Boss': Melissa McCarthy. See. All good/understandable reasons. :P Melissa McCarthy is a reason TO see a film, she's such a funny lady so I automatically enjoy pretty much anything she's in! Hail, Caesar I would recommend though and I think you would like it, there are some great moments and I bet you'll get a few laughs from it too. Yeah, I really thought Warcraft was going to flop after its US and UK start but China completely saved it and turned it into a pretty big hit, wonder if we'll get a sequel or not? Thanks Jonjo! :w00t:
January 7, 20178 yr Author 66. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 - I thought the first one of this was pretty hilarious and had so much charm so was delighted when a sequel was announced, it didn't make me laugh out loud loads but the characters themselves are all pretty hilarious and reminds me of my Italian family which makes it even funnier. Not as funny as the first but the charm is definitely still there, the joke about the Dad trying to explain how every word stems from Greek is amazing ! 67. Creed - This film almost did the impossible in actually making me enjoy a boxing film a fair bit but the subject material means I can't say I enjoyed it more than some movies still to come. I absolutely despise boxing, I find it boring and so hard to watch people just punching people in the face so I didn't think this would appeal to me at all, especially seeing as I'd seen no Rocky films before this either but it pleasantly surprised me. It managed to make boxing interesting, they were still the weakest parts of the movie for me but much more thrilling than I was expecting still and the acting was really top-notch, a shame Stallone didn't beat Rylance at last year's Oscars because he would have been my choice for sure (or Ruffalo ) 68. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back - Once again, just have to say I'm not the biggest fan of spy/action/thriller sort of movies like this and whilst there were plenty of moments I enjoyed, there were just movies I got more enjoyment out of yet to come. The actors in the film were probably my favourite part, Tom Cruise was Tom Cruise but I thought Cobie was badass and the young girl was quite funny as well despite making way too many stupid mistakes (who uses a stolen credit card to order room service?!?). The villain was fun to watch too and definitely felt threatening even though it was very unlikely Reacher was actually going to lose but ultimately, these sorts of films just aren't my favourite. 69. How To Be Single - We're getting to some of the better comedies now and this definitely made me laugh a fair bit, Rebel Wilson remains a fantastic comedian and she definitely had the best and biggest share of the jokes and she delivers them so well that it's impossible not to love her. Dakota Johnson and Alison Brie also did a good job and they were really likeable in their roles too, especially the latter when she was going crazy reading to the children then pulled her hair out  The ending was a little cringe with the monologue about how great being single is but the comedy side of it was a lot of fun so props to the actresses and writing team for that. 70. War Dogs - This is another film that I fairly liked when coming out of the film but it has gone down in my rankings a little singe, there was just something about the Jonah Hill's character (and himself?) that just makes them him so unlikeable so I'm kind of repulsed by the idea of watching this again  I think he is a good actor but they he comes across so arrogant and cocky and it's beginning to be difficult to enjoy much of his work . I went into this hoping for a bit of a laugh but it feels like they thinkhe thinks he's funnier than he actually is and whilst Miles Teller did a good job in this, he still didn't have many great jokes either. The plot was pretty thrilling though and had some good twists and turns so that's why it's not too low here.
January 9, 20178 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/GYrlT3q.jpg 61. The 5th Wave This is a film I remember massively enjoying when coming out of it back in January but since then it has proved utterly forgettable and there's not much at all I can really remember about it. I'd love to see it again sometime because it's an example of how to do a fun YA film unlike Allegiant but yeah, not loads I can remember from it. All the characters were really likeable, Chloe was a great lead and Nick Robinson has become a bit of a fave recently too  The idea of the waves was fun and the story was never boring so not a lot to complain about really. http://i.imgur.com/Wsl2Kk5.jpg 62. Keeping Up With The Joneses Despite being quite the fan of this, I can see why it got such bad reviews because it's really not great. The stars in the film totally MADE the film for me though, they're all so likeable so I just had such a great time watching this. I've already fallen in love with Gal Gadot since BvS and Isla Fisher was fantastic too. Jon Hamm is incredibly charming and Zach was another nice addition, their chemistry as a fourpiece was excellent and made for great viewing. Nothing special really and I don't remember much about the plot but yeah, had a lot of fun! http://i.imgur.com/QTNYGpa.jpg 63. Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates I was a little disappointed with this considering the four hilarious leads but there were still laughs to be had so I still enjoyed it somewhat. Adam Devine is much more likeable in the Pitch Perfect films too, he came across as a little try-hard here whereas Zac Efron and Aubrey Plaza are almost effortlessly funny. However, there were some great scenes, the spa scenes had me in stitches and as I mentioned, the cast was great and made the film better than it would have been without them. http://i.imgur.com/6NE8pf5.jpg 64. Goosebumps I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I actually did, I'm not familiar with the original stories but I was pleased with the fun non-stop action film we got. It was a little silly in places (mainly the Ryan Lee character who's humour would only appeal to four year old children) hence the slightly lower placing but I loved the action, Slappy (the villain) was surprisingly scary and the other monsters were all interesting too. It sort of reminded me of Night at the Museum where it's just so much fun from start to finish that you can't help but love it. Also, Dylan Minnette was nice to look at  http://i.imgur.com/y8kuG0t.jpg 65. The Secret Life Of Pets The trailer for this was very-well made, it appealed to pretty much everyone and had lots of fun humour so I was kind of disappointed when the film was way less funnier and plot not very interesting. It still turned into a mega smash hit for Illumination Entertainment but I'm glad it didn't outdo Minions because that was a lot more of a laugh. The funniest part was probably the start but that was just a repeat of the trailer anyway so that doesn't say much about the rest of the film. It was still fun and the characters were likeable but I won't remember any of them like the Minions or Gru in years to come.
January 9, 20178 yr Yes yes yes at that commentary for The Secret Life of Pets! In full agreement, I still gave it 8/10 at the time but that's a bit underwhelming for an animation when we compare to Zootropolis, Big Hero 6, Inside Out, Finding Dory, Trolls etc etc (picking those from the past couple of years that were 9/10 or 10/10, and all would be in my top 10 of the year of release) Did you see Southpaw? I liked Creed more, but I did enjoy Southpaw too despite having no interest in watching boxing as a sport. Rylance deserved the Oscar though, he was my choice. Mike & Dave wasn't Dirty Grandpa levels of hilarious but I loved it, the spa scene that you've highlighted was probably my favourite too but I remember the wedding speech scene being pretty great. This and How To Be Single should be higher than the Joneses :P I didn't have any interest in seeing War Dogs when I first watched the trailer, then I thought I might give it a shot but then in the end didn't get round to it / find the time, there were other priorities. I'm not a fan of Jonah Hill, I find him (and the trailer) quite obnoxious.
January 9, 20178 yr How To Be Single was nothing new but a lot of fun, I didn't realise how much I liked Rebel Wilson

Rylance was probably my least favourite from the whole category  Dirty Grandpa was really hilarious, one of my favourite comedies of the year for sure, Joneses relied a lot on the cast but they're so likeable so I had a great time anyway. War Dogs is an alright film, not very funny at all but the actual plot is quite interesting. Jonah Hill is becoming really insufferable though, I agree! Thanks Jahq  Need to see Kung Fu Panda 3 and The Secret Life Of Pets They're both fun films so I would recommend them in that aspect but they're not the best animated films ever, tell me what you think if you see them! Thanks Harry! How To Be Single was nothing new but a lot of fun, I didn't realise how much I liked Rebel Wilson Rebel Wilson is a real star, gifted in comedic timing for sure so will pretty much watch anything she does now  Thanks Jack! I've seen Secret Life Of Pets and I really liked it. Yeah, it did have some fun moments but the quality for animated films is really high at the moment so it was a tad disappointing! Thanks Dalek!
January 10, 20178 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/0loBHUV.jpg 56. Café Society This is a movie that I wasn't really very hyped for but ended up enjoying quite a bit, it has that charm to it where you can't help but get drawn in like a lot of Woody Allen films. I really enjoyed seeing the magical quality to Hollywood and getting wrapped up in the story. My only real problem was that Carrell's character didn't come across very likeable at all really so it almost didn't make much sense when Stewart's character actually wanted to be with him. A shame this has completely fallen off the map now that awards season has come because it really deserved nominations for the likes of costume design/cinematography imo. http://i.imgur.com/SlR6Fdg.jpg 57. Jason Bourne This is really high for an action-thriller film even though #57 doesn't look that great, I often find them quite boring and none of them are particularly special but I think it's testament to Matt Damon and how much of a good movie star he is as to why I enjoyed this so much. He pulls off the role so well and I did like seeing the story unfold too, I wasn't able to predict how it would end anyway. Vikander was a nice addition too, it's great to see her pop up and get more work but this was far from her best role. I thought there were some good action moments and the cast was great but things like car chases just don't appeal to me much at all. http://i.imgur.com/vauvYSI.jpg 58. Concussion American Football is another sport that I pretty much have no interest in so I'm glad this focused more on the effects of it rather than the game itself. I'm glad that the story was told and the NFL publicly outed for their cover ups of the problems the sport can cause. I thought Will Smith was solid (despite the accent being a bit shoddy) and I liked seeing how he balanced work and personal life too, the miscarriage scene was heart-breaking. http://i.imgur.com/m3dt91B.jpg 59. Alice Through The Looking Glass This movie would be way higher up the list if it wasn't for Johnny Depp, he is so over-the-top nowadays in every role that it is becoming utterly ridiculous. I know that The Mad Hatter is intended to be an eccentric character but it's so annoying when he barely get a word out without some unusual movement of the face or weird vocal intonation. The rest of the film was really enjoyable, both Queens remained amazing fun to watch, Time was an interesting addition and it was nice to see all the animal characters again too but Johnny Depp just completely ruined it for me. Worried about how my favourite franchise ever, Harry Potter, is going to cope with him as a main character now :( http://i.imgur.com/W1qQ7w7.jpg 60. Bad Moms There's still a fair few comedies left to come so I wouldn't say this was one of the best of the year but probably one of the ones I had the most fun in, all the girls in the film looked like they were having a wicked time which made it all the more fun to watch. Mila Kunis is also as likeable as ever so it's always nice to see her when she gets another main role. Also, I've never really appreciated her before but Christina Applegate had me in stitches in this film, the definition of a massive bitch and she played the part expertly
January 10, 20178 yr I have a sudden bad feeling about the top 10 if Zootropolis isn't going to be in there, I hope it won't be too dominated by superhero movies! :heehee: I think Zootropolis is the only movie I saw more than once in the cinema last year and will probably be 2nd whenever I bother to put together my own EOY list. Bad Moms  Love Mila but think Kathryn Hahn was my standout, as great as everyone was in it. Jason Bourne is too high, pretty boring for me. Alicia was the best thing about it but it wasn't the best showcase for her talents and Julia Stiles was killed off way too soon. Cafe Society <3 It was so charming and such a pleasure to watch. Agree with what you've wrote, Jesse Eisenberg is quite cute and his character was lovely, but when Kristen Stewart chose Edward over Jacob, can we really be surprised?!

January 10, 20178 yr Author Bad Moms was SOOOO generic but I still really liked it. Christina Applegate was the clear highlight for me . Yeah not a particularly daring comedy but had a good number of laughs, looking forward to the sequel :D Thanks Jack!! ONLY 3 superhero movies in my top 10 but don't forget Star Wars/Harry Potter etc. :heehee: Kathryn Hann was up there too, I didn't mention her in my commentary but her role was definitely memorable  Yeah, these sort of action thrillers are a little on the boring side for me too but I love Matt Damon and think he's great so I enjoyed it more. Julia Stiles definitely shouldn't have been killed off though as you say!! I would pick Edward over Jacob too tho, R Patz >>>> Taylor Lautner!!! Thanks Jahq!!
January 10, 20178 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/U2ADHKb.jpg 51. Inferno I'm still the only person to have posted in this film's thread so I would recommend it if none of you have seen it! This is the only Dan Brown film I've seen and I've heard it's the worst yet so I would definitely like to see the others too because I enjoyed this a fair bit. I loved the mystery side to it and linking together all the clues was really enthralling and the idea of the plague was great too (although, after reading up on it, I do prefer the gutsy ending from the book which is why it's a little lower down here). It also turned a bit too much into an action film at the end so the last act was a little on the boring side for me too :( http://i.imgur.com/jXtOtQV.jpg 52. A United Kingdom I was actually expecting this to be kind of boring so wasn't that hyped for me but it did surprise me at how much I enjoyed it, I got really wrapped up in the story and the love the two leads had for each other. It still wasn't the most eventful film hence why it is a little lower than some other dramas still to come. Saying that, there were still some great moments, my favourites being the scene where Seretse's sister first meets Ruth and the incredibly satisfying ending when they had Alistair Canning cornered with all the evidence. http://i.imgur.com/ja7R5QI.jpg 53. Collateral Beauty This film was totally destroyed recently by critic reviews but I actually find it quite an interesting little story. It did sort of glorify being cruel to someone and what the friends did to Will Smith's character was way TOO far but it was an interesting set up and made for some funny moments too. I thought all of the people playing the 'actors' were great, Helen Mirren especially who had such great comedic moments too, loved how she kept wanting to play all three characters  I also really liked the twist at the end, I didn't see it coming at all and I thought it was really sweet so it definitely ended on a high for me. http://i.imgur.com/gz4GrNM.jpg 54. Me Before You As showcased in my review for The Choice right near the bottom, I'm not a fan of sickly sweet romance scripts and that's pretty much the only reason that I couldn't put this any higher because some of it was just a little on the cringe side. Aside from that, I adored how much unexpected humour the film had and how Emilia Clarke's character was one of the most likeable characters in film from this entire year for me, so lovely! Sam Claflin did a good job too although he was definitely overshadowed but they made the ending work as a team and it was really moving so props to the acting and the characters that we had grown to love over the course of the film. http://i.imgur.com/3jlWnXq.jpg 55. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot I think we all know by now that Tina Fey is really hilarious and this film was no exception, she was the STAR of the movie and provided loads of laughs (I died when she was wearing the blue overall and all the locals were checking her out ). Martin Freeman was a great casting choice too, he is absolutely hilarious too and suits the cheeky character down to a T (and also is a bit of an odd crush  ?). Margot Robbie was also surprisingly funny but not sure she was on the same level as Fey and Freeman.
January 10, 20178 yr Inferno was the only movie my sister saw in the cinema last year, which I found amusing since I saw 101 and that wasn't one of them. She told me seeing the previous Dan Brown movies didn't matter as she hadn't and still enjoyed it enough, but the trailer wasn't really enticing me in. A United Kingdom was an important story to be told and made for an interesting and solid movie even if it wasn't the most exciting. Adore Rosamund Pike. Collateral Beauty too high :P I didn't even mind the cruelty, just found it rather dull and didn't entirely buy into the ending (can it really be that well hidden that they were previously a couple?) Me Before You  Agreed that parts were a little cringe but love Emilia and Sam so much and they worked so well together. Have considered picking up the book and putting it on my 'to read' list, and then maybe the sequel too, wonder if they'll try turning that into a movie as this one did rather well. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot was one of my least favourites of last year, such a disappointment, didn't find much of it funny at all. :( (And I was a bit confused by it tonally given the setting) Yeah, I liked Zootropolis but there are actually a couple of animated films ahead of it so I'm not sure you'll be too pleased there. ONLY 3 superhero movies in my top 10 but don't forget Star Wars/Harry Potter etc. :heehee: I would pick Edward over Jacob too tho, R Patz >>>> Taylor Lautner!!! Ooh yeah, Kubo was your favourite animation at the time wasn't it so guessing that'll be the highest unless things changed. Err, at least we don't have to fight over them, but tbh I would take both.

I wasn't that hyped for Inferno really but it was a fun movie, I enjoyed it way more than expected. I really like Rosamund Pike too and even more so after seeing A United Kingdom, she comes across incredibly likeable! I guess yeah, the ending only worked because the plot said so/they had hidden all the clues and that sort of thing wouldn't really work in real life or anything but I still liked the twist. I was tempted to pick up the Me Before You book and its sequel quite a few times too, if the actors were up for it then I'd make a sequel for sure too, it made quite a bit of money for the studio I imagine! WTF did have a bit of an odd setting and I didn't really know whether to laugh or be shocked at some points but I think Tina Fey is one of the few people who can make pretty much anything work and there were plenty of good jokes ! I still haven't finalised the top of my list but Kubo was my favourite animation at the time so will be around there, there have been a few animated films since then too though! Well yeah, I wouldn't say no to Taylor Lautner, I'd just take R Patz first :P Thanks Jahq
January 11, 20178 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/dYweNs4.jpg 46. Why Him? I wasn't actually expecting to laugh at this film as much as I did but it ended up being quite the laugh. Usually, I'm not so keen on James Franco but he was the big highlight here and had all the best jokes, I was wetting myself when he just threw that chicken out of nowhere  The mum was also pretty hilarious, her attempted sex scene provided laugh after laugh. The ending was cute and I left the screening feeling content. The only character I didn't enjoy so much was Keegan Michael Key's one, didn't find him very funny at all. http://i.imgur.com/KFVTxF4.jpg 47. Storks One of the smaller animation movies this year and it didn't quite have the same box office success as some of the other animated hits but it was actually one of my favourites. The plot regarding finding Tulip's family was sweet and the humour was on point too. My highlights being the wolves turning into whatever to suit the situation and the silent penguin fight, especially because it's so true when you do everything quieter when the baby is sleeping for a bit of peace and quiet  All the characters were likeable, touching plot and some great laughs what's not to like really? Shame it wasn't a bigger hit :( http://i.imgur.com/2jKFBgs.jpg 48. Sully I was kind of expecting this to be boring because I was wondering how they would stretch out such a short event into a feature film length story so it was great to discover all the legal battle that Sully had to suffer too. The actual plane landing scene was probably the highlight for me, incredibly tense even though you know the outcome and a huge relief when they do land safely. I adored the court case scenes too, especially the end ones with all the simulations with the different conditions, I found that very interesting! Some great performances too, Tom Hanks especially who always does a good job. http://i.imgur.com/q9qkThS.jpg 49. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows I haven't seen the first reboot film from a couple of years back but it's a shame this did so much worse at the box office because I actually really enjoyed it and would definitely watch a sequel. I thought it was going to be a bit childish going into it but aside from a few jokes, it was definitely enjoyable for all ages. My only real problem with it is how unlikeable the characters are, it's hard to find any nice moments from Raf and Leo and only Mikey is actually funny/kind-hearted for most of the movie  I really like the human characters too, I know everyone hates Megan Fox but I feel like she has a lot of charisma and Stephen Amell is really attractive so he was nice to look at too  I guess Shredder was a bit on the silly side too but still fun and made for an action-packed ending which I enjoyed :D http://i.imgur.com/gyEfIG7.jpg 50. Florence Foster Jenkins The director of this film, Stephen Frears, also directed Philomena a few years back and it has the same sort of lovely feel to it as that film (though I do vastly prefer the latter). It managed to balance being funny and light at times with being dreadfully sad at others really well. Meryl, as usual, was fabulous in the role and showed off how excellent she is at comedy too, the lady next to me burst into laughter every time Florence opened her mouth to sing and pretty much the whole screen was chuckling at her singing scenes. Hugh Grant did a great job too and managed to be so charming (despite basically cheating on her, you can't help but warm to him) although I won't go as far as saying awards worthy but that's what a lot of the predictions seem to be saying. My only problem with the movie was Simon Helberg (and I usually like him so that's a shame), he was just a bit too odd and over-the-top to watch so I was already annoyed by him after his first scene, oops! January 12, 20178 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/L1Zoi7C.jpg 41. The BFG I wasn't even expecting to enjoy this half as much as I eventually did because the book is probably one of my least favourite Roald Dahl classics and I wasn't the biggest fan of Mark Rylance before this either, I ended up doing a complete 180 on him anyway because he was amazing in this and completely made you fall in love with the giant. I thought all of the trailers looked so dull too so was just expecting to be bored but ended up being totally enthralled in the story, the world of the giants was so magical and you can't help but get drawn in by the odd language and unusual names of things and hobbies like dream-catching. Meeting the Queen scene was probably one of my favourite scenes of 2016 too, so hilarious seeing him sat up on that massive table and chair during the breakfast scene  My only problem with this is the slightly shoddy child acting from the girl playing Sophie but she wasn't too bad really. http://i.imgur.com/jmDJMcS.jpg 42. Finding Dory Probably another big shock at having this so low but it did sort of lack a lot of the charm of the first film and if I ever wanted to watch a Pixar film, I'd pick Nemo over this any day of the week so I doubt I'll see it many more times in the future. Dory, superbly voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, was of course the huge highlight, effortlessly funny and a lovely character but it does seem a bit silly when her memory loss just comes and goes when the plot dictates. I'm not saying Finding Nemo was realistic either but octopuses driving cars and things just got a bit silly for me by the end too. It also lacked the emotional hit for me that most Pixar movies do, it was sad but she seemed to find her parents pretty quickly really and they were never gonna be dead so eh. The humour was solid throughout, loved the Sigourney Weaver joke especially but it wasn't good enough to make it one of my favourite animated films of the year. http://i.imgur.com/euPfmqm.jpg 43. Money Monster Not a film that I expected to be this high at all when walking into it but I really loved how tense and thrilling this was from start to finish. It does have a focus on the economic aspect of things but it's not overcomplicated and confusing like The Big Short was so I was still able to get the gist of those parts. My highlights were the performances really and tension those brought, Jack O'Connell was excellent in the role, terrifying at some moments but also very vulnerable at others. Julia Roberts was solid too (I'm glad she's doing less glam and more serious role nowadays like this, Secret in their Eyes and August: Osage County for example). It was also surprisingly funny for a thriller, I really liked the vines at the end especially. http://i.imgur.com/tzhKmrC.jpg 44. Secret in Their Eyes This film unfortunately got really bad reviews for its unnecessary existence as a remake of an Argentine film from 2009 with the same name. I haven't seen that film so can't compare but a lot of critics seemed to contrast this version unfavourably with the original. I thought it was a really good crime thriller and had me on the edge of my seat from the moment you found it Julia Roberts' character's daughter who had been killed. The ending of this also really shocked me, I'd have never guessed what was actually revealed so I'd recommend watching this for the twist alone really. The three leads are also great as to be expected. http://i.imgur.com/JZKsSva.jpg 45. Grimsby This film was pretty much non-stop laughs from the outset and its short run time meant that it was never once boring. The movie was incredibly vulgar and definitely not one for the faint-hearted and as a fan of raunchy humour, even sometimes it seemed to go a little too far  For those who have seen it, you'll know what I mean when I say the elephant scene is something that you will never be able to unsee. My favourite seen though was probably that seen where the girl was talking about what she was going to do, not realising that Nobby thought she was taking about poo and just being like wtf?!?! Gabourey Sidibe and Rebel Wilson were also both funny and it's a shame they were such minor characters because they were two of my big highlights too

January 13, 20178 yr Author Really like Storks and BFG. Need to Finding Dory, once I get to see Finding Nemo You've NEVER seen Finding Nemo? That is a must-see film, think it defines most people's childhoods! Thanks Dalek! Edited January 13, 20178 yr by Josh.

John Goodman was petrifying and it's a shame that it's not the sort of film to pick up many awards nominations. The 'I accept your apology' line is probably one of the ones that has stuck with me the most from 2016. My only problem with this was the ending that kind of ruined the movie for me, it was like they'd made an excellent thriller but had to add the Cloverfield name brand to make money and then just stuck an alien scene on the end and it wasn't even an exciting one :( http://i.imgur.com/nsC6bvH.jpg 37. Swiss Army Man Probably the weirdest film I saw in the whole of 2016, not many movies have a stranded men riding on a farting corpse like a surfboard but this one did. At the very beginning, I was rolling my eyes a bit like oh, this is just going to be all fart jokes, isn't it? but the humour actually really surprised me and I ended up having a right laugh and the far jokes mainly ended once he got a cork up his bum! Manny was one of the most hilarious characters I've seen in a while but also very well acted from Daniel Radcliffe, it's nice seeing him do some really different roles after Harry Potter. The line from Mary Elizabeth Winstead pretty much sums it up though, 'what the f***?' http://i.imgur.com/lTi4Gg0.jpg 38. Ghostbusters This film was pretty much dead on arrival thanks to the intense hatred for the movie and its cast before the film even came out and critics and fans alike were never going to like it really but I actually really enjoyed the movie. I was a little worried after finding the trailers not that funny for a comedy but Chris Hemsworth totally knocked it out the park, everything he said was a laugh and he was so charming too, I wish he'd do some more comedies because he's really good at it. All four of the main cast were enjoyable, Melissa McCarthy being my highlight of them as usual, I laughed a lot at the scene where she got possessed  Kate McKinnon was a little over-the-top and irritating at times but she was my only real problem with the film and the human villain was a bit weak too but the ghosts made up for it, they were loads of fun and I loved the visuals for them. http://i.imgur.com/oGnFskF.jpg 39. Zootropolis Probably another huge shock to be this low but there are a fair few animations I enjoyed more than this from 2016. There were loads of good things about it though, the world-building was amazing, the scene where Judy first gets to Zootropolis and Try Everything is playing, it just puts you in an instant good mood and you just want to be able to go there, it all looks so cool. The third act was really exciting too with all the twists and turns that kept you guessing what would happen next. The humour was on point for me too, my favourite being the knock-off DVD stall selling movies like Pig Hero 6 and Meowana as well as the scenes with Flash who was just comedic gold, hilarious when he was speeding at the end of the film  I guess it just didn't have the catchy music of Moana, the copious amounts of fun of Trolls or the beautiful visuals of Kubo. http://i.imgur.com/kALXl3k.jpg 40. Dirty Grandpa One of the highest comedies of the year although there are still a couple to come, it made me laugh loads though and the whole cast was excellent. Zac Efron and Robert De Niro had excellent banter and on-screen chemistry and Aubrey Plaza really shined in her small role too, the pants 'accidentally' slipping off was excellently deliver by her  It had loads of good one-liners too but I think 'Jenny from the Cockblock' would have to be my favourite  Also yay at getting so much of Zac Efron's bottom on show :w00t: Edited January 13, 20178 yr by Josh.
