Impact dates need to die.

Impact dates would be there even if they weren't 3 months after release :P i.e. "Shape Of You"'s release date AND impact date were the same day.

What will be confusing with these new chart rules is where a song is released and then is only promoted 2 months after by which time it may end up going on to ACR?!

I would say the record label have tried to jump on the success of the album going to no1 by changing the impact date so radio can chose to support it - radio loves giving airplay to a no1!

The impact date was changed before the album's release :P

Playing catch up with this and hopefully going to continue posting this on a Sunday/Monday :)

Radio 1 to plan Biggest Weekend for 2018

http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/t...or-2018__19755/

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is getting a huge makeover for one year only - and the rest of the BBC, plus more of you, are invited.

BBC Music's The Biggest Weekend will take place in four cities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland across May bank holiday in 2018 on May 25, 26, 27 and 28. Each city will each host one event each. It is currently unknown if any acts to be announced will play more than one date.

This news coincides with the fact that Glastonbury is taking a sabbatical next year, a festival that is a huge ratings winner for the BBC. This year's highlight of Ed Sheeran's Glastonbury headline slot pulled in a record peak audience of 4.1 million viewers.

I definitely want tixx

for England of course, presumably it'll be held in a city somewhere in the South as it's easier for the Northerners to go to Scotland than for us, so shouldn't be much of a drive hopefully if I'm lucky enough to get hold of them.

PLEASE be in the Midlands for once. I've always wanted to go to a Big Weekend and what with me having money and spare time now I've finished school, I think this is the perfect time to go.

The acts performing for Live Lounge Month have been confirmed for September and were revealed in full today on Clara's show. 4th September - Chris Martin

5th September - The Script

6th September - The xx

7th September - 30 Seconds To Mars

8th September - P!nk (Live Lounge Special)

11th September - The Killers

12th September - London Grammar

13th September - Harry Styles

14th September - Stormzy

15th September - Miley Cyrus (Live Lounge Special)

18th September - Rita Ora

19th September - Wolf Alice

20th September - George Ezra

27th September - Rudimental with James Arthur

Seems odd that they'd still be pushing 'Sun Comes Up' at the end of September!

Also 30 Seconds To Mars are a bit of a random booking, they haven't been around for ages. Half their target audience won't even know who they are

Maybe James Arthur will be on their next single as well? I mean I hope not but 'Sun Comes Up' would have already peaked by the time 27th Sept comes around.
Could be to promote Rudimental's album if they intend on releasing at that sort of time, too. Considering they could only get hits with Ed Sheeran with their last album, perhaps they want to have another known name to help push the album.
