January 3, 20178 yr Too bad Million Reason and Hurts didn't get similar boost on Spotify. Apparently Rockabye are back to #1 on iTunes and now CB has been leading on both iTunes and Spotify for most of this Friday chart tracking days. Hopefully it can finally grab #1 this Friday and I would be surprised if 24K Magic or Starboy get #1 again since they're both fell behind on sales and streaming. 'It Ain't Me' climbs to #3, giving both Kygo and Selena their highest-charting hits. Coldplay earns only their fourth top 5 hit, matching the peak of 'Violet Hill' and only behind 'Paradise' (#3) and 'A Sky Full Of Stars' (#2). 'That's What I Like' is Bruno's FIFTEENTH top 10, all the others have gone top 5 except for 'Treasure' (#7). On the albums chart, Bruce Springsteen climbs even further with a handful of albums AND gets another re-entry! And wow, somehow Alessia Cara's album only charted for a week initially despite three fairly sizable hits, a much bigger one now from Moana, and yet another one entering the chart this week. Know-It-All debuted and peaked at #26.
March 7, 20178 yr I find it interesting that Sticky Fingers' first album is just hanging around endlessly in the 30s. Their next two albums have been hugely successful in Australia but it seems like there's this one track that's randomly super popular in NZ that I've otherwise never heard of. On the other hand, I don't think the singles chart has ever been more in line with Aus, "Bounce Back" being #52 is the only track in the NZ chart that ISN'T in the AU top 50. Hope Lorde can get a #1 debut next week. She's been stuck at #2 on Spotify but a huge sales lead, though I'm not sure if that counts for enough nowadays.

The previous record was 11, first set by Michael Jackson and later matched by Justin Bieber. Calvin Harris and Zedd both manage new peaks amongst the Sheeran onslaught. 'Stay' is only Zedd's third hit as lead artist, as 'I Want You To Know' missed out for some reason. On the albums chart, Divide goes platinum in its first week.
