Huge peak for Countryfile! It did come from the last 5 minutes which made me think that perhaps Call the Midwife started a few minutes early, but it could just be people tuning in for it.

The Good Karma Hospital rises week-on-week, probably thanks to not being up against another drama. Would be interesting to see what its ratings would be if it didn't have such a dire lead-in.

Dance x3 had a series average of 3.33m - probably won't be brought back but at least it remained consistent and was at least an improvement on Beowulf which had its slot last year.

Great to see The Halcyon jump back up to the level it was at before. It's been my favourite drama this year and deserves better ratings, but at least it has been generally consistent. It clashes with football next week for its final episode - judging on the games that have aired this year, I don't think that will have a negative effect on The Halcyon's rating - I hope that it could maybe see the programme get even close to 4m.

Seems Valentine's Day affected ratings slightly - including The Moorside which, although at the same level as last week, I'd have expected to be up even more. Should consolidate to 9m+ though.

20:00 Who Do You Think You Are? - 4.54m (22.3%)

The first series of The Real Marigold Hotel aired on BBC 2 in January/February 2016 and averaged 3.01m across three episodes (3.05m / 3.16m / 2.82m).

Also, the consolidated rating for the first episode of The Moorside has been revealed - it timeshifted 2.78m from 7.15m to 9.93m! I think it could add another 1m with 28-day data figures.

It's actually quite satisfying to see Emmerdale get Emmerdale'd by Eastenders! :D I had hoped June Brown at 90 being sandwiched between Eastenders and Death in Paradise would see it get ~4m in the ratings, but it would seem the extra Corrie took away a lot of viewers. I suppose the Hilda Ogden tribute aired in December only got 2m (although excluding HD), which aired against Holby City but with no Corrie lead in.

Similarly to Apple Tree Yard, SS-GB collapsed throughout the hour after getting a great boost from the Call the Midwife lead-in (started on 6.99m and finished on 5.44m).

SS-GB had better ratings than the first episode of Apple Tree Yard did (5.36m) and knocked ratings for The Good Karma Hospital by almost 1m (although the latter did manage to increase throughout the hour).

Also, Call the Midwife becomes the first programme of 2017 to top the 9m mark!

I'm not surprised people switched off during SS-GB, it doesn't seem like it and Call The Midwife would have a huge crossover audience.

Huge jump for Apple Tree Yard! That's the biggest 7-day to 28-day time-shift of the year.

The FA Cup match rating higher than normally because of an non-league team in Sutton playing Arsenal.
