Ok Archie in his underwear was the highlight of the ep. I thought the 2nd ep was a little dull. The Archie/Grundy thing isn't very well done at all. I see what he is getting out of it being a teenager banging his hot teacher but she doesn't seem very smitten with him and surely she could find herself another hot guy to bang if it was mainly sex.

Veronica I want to like but it's not clicking with me yet. She says all the right things but it just doesn't seem genuine.

ALL THIS BERONICA MADNESS *.* From the flowers to the milkshakes. Pretty sure that Romeo & Juliet line was about them too :P v. "forget Archie, we can be girlfriends instead"
Rewatching the episode and I'm all of a sudden thinking about this parallel:

Veronica *during cheer practice*: "Romeo & Juliet are the exception, not the rule!"

Veronica *talking about Betty to Archie*: *talks about how she and Betty are destined to be together*

wasn't Romeo & Juliet's relationship fate-centric too?

okay well something is happening with Betty, do you think they are just gonna brush that hot tub scene as the heat of the moment sort of thing or actually develop it into some mental problem? Also, Veronica's face when Betty walked out to the hot tub :kink: I was living for Veronica the first half of the episode, she wasn't taking no shit and the sass!! YOU GO GIRL

Wait, I forgot what Betty was taking the pills for during the pilot, anxiety?

If so I think Betty with a mental condition may have been hinted. One of the symptoms might be anxiety and it might be hereditary but skips a generation (so her mother might be a carrier and it would explain why Polly went all psycho).

Would it be possible to have Betty actually be Polly and Veronica is right about the dual personality thing? idk but I was living for Veronica yet again *.* Her hot tub scenes...

ALSO ETHEL IS BARB

I wasn't so sure of this show when I watched the pilot but I'm glad I've stuck with it and I love the direction it's going! It's like my new replacement for Revenge *.*
I'm really impressed with how they're layering up their characters, giving them more depth than what their stereotyped personas suggest and sort of poking fun at how bloody typical the American high school set up is. I don't think a lot of people get that that's the point, it's meant to be typical, nothing special until the events surrounding Jason death occurred. This has so much potential, I just hope they don't mess it up via the writing which the CW is often guilty of. Maybe the fact Netflix is involved it will help, it seems to so far! It's been so long since I actually looked forward to watching something weekly, this is defo my new fave rn
Just watched the episode and I love Veronica such a feminist queen and I am loving this alter ego for Betty

SO META. I really love how self aware the show is in terms of the usual tropes. I do think Kevin is going to get serious character development in the future, especially with him not only dealing with his sexuality (is he still in the closet around family? What did he tell his dad about finding Jason's body?) but possibly being a core player in solving the mystery for Jughead and Betty. Reggie could use some development too, he's petty big in the comics' canon afaia.

I feel like Cheryl as the social media voice of the universe might poke fun at the B&V relationship (moreso in the "I prefer the name Beronica" sense). #TeamBVC :cheer:

3rd ep was much better than the 2nd. Archie took a back seat (bar another showing of flesh which is always welcome) which I think was needed to let other characters breathe and have their moment and plot.

The episode gave Betty a lot more depth but in a bad way (good tv way though).

I think out of all the characters, Betty & Veronica seem to have the highest potential for character development, as we don't know much about how their backstory ties in with their personalities and Betty somehow transforming into Polly only solidifies that.
