who thought a popstar in 2017 would be launching on the back of the book of ace of base *.*
This is miles better than Alarm which was only ever pleasant but not something I'd particularly seek out to listen to again and again. Looks like Anne-Marie and Dua Lipa are going to be the British "it girls" of the first half of 2017 at least!
It's very... Shakira? Yeah, I think that's the right word for it. It's totally different to anything else I've heard this year, like a heavily acoustic version of dancehall - I really like it, I think this will be #1 very soon.
Really like this! Boy-Do It Right-Alarm-Ciao Adios is a brilliant run of singles. Like them all :D
Absolutely love this.
Every time I've heard this song I've been confused about the lyrical content of it. In the verses she's pretty much saying she knows for certain he's cheating and seems to have accepted it as fact, but in the chorus she's basically saying she has a sneaking suspicion. It doesn't make sense.

When have pop lyrics ever made much sense though? it's kind of a shame that lyrically this is pretty much the same as Alarm, she could have gone for a different subject matter. But regardless, this is an absolute tune and I'm confident it's going to smash. Ciao Adios, I'm slayed!

it's the ups and downs of a situation though? feeling certain you know the truth then doubting and repeating

i don't say this often but this is kind of a textbook example of a perfect pop song. it's one hook leading into hook after hook. left field in the current musical climate, an unusual tempo, the entire composition. PHENOMENAL.

I don't think there is any kind of noticeable change in the narrative between the verses and the chorus at all.

She still seems pretty sure in the chorus to me, she is just letting him know that she isn't buying it and she is leaving and not sticking around purely because she believes everything she says in the verses are true.
