Well what to say, Im Matty and im 16 years old :D Ive always liked some of elvis' classic tracks, but never really been a fan, until today when I seen a performance of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and went to look for more performances on youtube, and all the ones I seen were amaze  So as a new fan, what Elvis album would you recommend for me to buy first? Hope to post here some more :D Edited October 9, 200618 yr by Exodus
October 9, 200618 yr Hi Matty and welcome to the Elvis forum It's great that you're getting into Elvis! 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' is a fantastic song and I'm so glad that you loved the clips on YouTube :cheer: He sure was an amazing performer  It's great that you'd like to get hold of some Elvis albums and I'll do my best to help. Not sure how much of Elvis' music you know and what type you prefer, but I reckon a good start would be Hitstory which is a 3CD set of Elvis' hits or Elvis By The Presleys (I saw this a few weeks ago in Music Zone for £5.97 ;) ) Another of my faves is The Memphis 1969 Anthology - Suspicious Minds which has some great alternate takes of some of his biggest hits from '69. Also Elvis Presley - The Live Greatest Hits, Elvis Presley - NBC TV Special (the Comeback Special DVD is fantastic and the new single disc one is only £9.97 at Woolworths ) or Elvis Is Back (the first album he recorded on his return from the army) There's so many to choose from but HMV have loads at the moment and I noticed theres some great prices if you order from their website http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/simpleSearch.d...bmitSearch.y=12 MusicZone also sell them cheaper than a lot of other music shops although they don't have as wide a selection. I mentioned the '68 Comeback DVD, but if you can get hold of That's The Way It Is Special Edition DVD or Aloha From Hawaii DVD, you'll see why we love him Hope I've helped a bit, Matty, and please come back and let us know what you think of the albums you get and come and post here whenever you like, we're a friendly bunch :cheer: Carole
October 10, 200618 yr Hi Matty I'm Jac, new to this forum too but definetely not new to Elvis :D The first Elvis thing I ever saw was the That's The Way It Is special when I wasn't much younger than you, it totally captured me and I haven't looked back since. All the CD's and DVD's Carole's mentioned are fantastic, especially the last 3 items  Another good one would be Artist of The Century, it's a 3 CD set with songs right from the start up to the 70's, a great mixture if you don't really know much of his stuff. Another couple that are great are Elvis - 2nd To None and On Stage, which is a live recording of one of his concerts from Vegas in 1970. Hope you love anything you listen to, if there's anything in particular you're looking for and can't find, let us know and someone should be able to help you. Enjoy :cheer: Jac
