Fair play to Gary Barlow for allowing himself to have the mickey taken out of him for his c**p dancing.

Take That top charts for second week

Sun Dec 10, 2006 8:46 PM GMT

LONDON (Reuters) - Take That on Sunday became the first act to top five British charts in the same week by holding on to number one position in the singles and album listings and heading the download single and album charts and DVD rankings.

"Take That have re-written the record books this weekend by being the first band ever to top all five charts," said a spokesman for the Official UK Charts Company.

"Patience", the band's first single since reforming last year, held off "Smack That" by U.S. rappers Akon and Eminem for a second week, according to the chart tracking company.

Take That's comeback album "Beautiful World" secured another week at number one, ahead of the Oasis greatest hits collection "Stop the Clocks" and Irish band Westlife's "The Love Album".

Take That broke up in 1996 shortly after Robbie Williams left the band, to the dismay of millions of teenage fans. Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen reformed without Williams last year.

The band has now scored eight number one singles and three chart-topping albums.

Elsewhere on the singles chart, dance act Booty Luv was steady at number three with "Boogie 2Nite".

The highest new entry at number four was "Bing Bang (Time to Dance)", a song from the children's television show "LazyTown".

Canadian singer Nelly Furtado fell one place to fifth with "All Good Things (Come To An End)", while U.S. singer Justin Timberlake dropped to sixth with "My Love".

Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" slipped one spot to seventh and Dutch DJ Fedde le Grand was unchanged at number eight.

U.S. singer Gwen Stefani entered the chart at number nine with "Wind it Up", while British R&B singer Jamelia completed the top 10 with "Beware of the Dog".

I saw an advert for the TT documentary 'On the Record' or 'Off the Record' or whatever it's called. It's apparently being repeated on ITV tomorrow night. -_-

AMERICA NEXT FOR TAKE THAT COMEBACK

Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley

NOT content with conquering the charts in Britain and most of Europe, Take That are out to crack America.

The comeback kings, number one in the album and singles chart for the second week running, have signed for US label Interscope, home to Eminem and 50 Cent.

An excited Gary Barlow tells us: "We're really looking forward to going out there and giving it a go."

Take That are likely to do far better than ex-member Robbie Williams who said: "The only way one of my albums is going to get into an LA record store is if I leave it there." Couldn't have put it better ourselves.

Bloody 3am bitches

If they didnt crack the states with classic like Back for good and Never forget etc then I honestly don't see how they will now unless they release some of their older singles

Gary Barlow says Robbie Williams should stop mocking him.

Robbie Williams

The former Take That bandmates, who fell out before Robbie left the band in 1996, still haven't made up and Gary says he is sick of Robbie's childish attitude.

Gary fumed: "I think I was the only one who really had any problems with Robbie. We haven't had any sort of friendship for so long now, me and Robbie. "But we all met up this year and I think that we have all grown up since we reformed and we are not interested in making fun of each other any more. Those days are over, everyone needs to realise that." Fellow bandmate Mark Owen, who was Robbie's closest friend in the group, says he won't be able to move on until Robbie returns to Take That.

He said: "When we got together a year ago, we were looking for closure on this whole thing, but seem to have got the complete opposite. We started on a new chapter. I think the ideal for us now would be, at some point, to have Rob back. Maybe that would be closure for us all then."

Where in that did Gary say Rob should stop mocking him

He said they have both grown up and ar'nt interested in making fun out of eachother

Hardly 'fuming' is it??

The bloody press are beyond pathetic <_<

I thought he was saying the exact opposite as well.

Guess 'Robbie n Gary fine with each other' doesn't make as good a headline.

I am here for a moan. Scotty/Nicky feel free to delete this if you like but I need to get it off my chest.

Now as you all know, I'm not a Take That fan. I don't particularly mind them. I'm just not a great fan. And they are nice lads and all. And I don't wish them any harm.

But I'm totally sick of them!!!! They are everywhere. On my TV every time I turn it on. In my newspaper every time I open it. It's total saturation. Enough already!!!!! :arrr: And it's been that way for weeks now. I've never known such relentless promotion. By anybody. Ever (and I know it's paying off but it's really doing my head in!)

When is this going to end? I'm sure I've seen more of them in the past month than in the whole 5 years they were previously together.

It all must be great if you are a fan ( although I think I'd even be getting fed up seeing our Rob if he had been on telly as much  ).

I now get the words to the Good Doctor coming into my head all the time 'Take That Take That Take That'.

Please, somebody give me some hope..... :(
