February 25, 20178 yr Statements sounds incredible based even on that video posted, if she doesn't go DTF then I just don't know what to think!
February 25, 20178 yr okay I GAVE UP. SO GOOD. what a QUEEN. And you KNOW she will slay the performance and pull out all the stops this evening. *.*
February 25, 20178 yr Loreen and Wiktoria are by far the two standouts, it really should be a no brainer of those two going direkt. Then I'd put Alice and Axel (his song is very Danny Saucedo) through to AC, with Jon Henrik 5th, it's a good entry but I'm not dying to have it on repeat and if Roger Pontare could only manage 5th with a better entry then this shouldn't beat it, although it obviously will. Les Gordons and Sara Varga are both dire and should easily be out in the first round.
February 25, 20178 yr Honestly SURELY Statements will decimate the whole of Eurovision not just Melfest? f***ing incredible. As I Lay Me Down is an absolute bop as well, I think it would do very well at Eurovision too. I just wish Wiktoria was in a random selection like Moldova and could win that and we get that and Loreen
February 25, 20178 yr 01 - Loreen - on another plane. 02 - Jon-Henrik - this floaty bollocks is almost verging on INCIDENTAL MUSIC! And I wouldn't have it ANY OTHER WAY *.* 03 - Wiktoria - yet another belter squandered on Sweden's answer to Jessie J. FUMING that this will go through when Crucified didn't but FINE 04 - Alice Svensson - this is so turn-of-the-decade Stargate I almost want to die at home in tribute 05 - Sara Varga - "why are you people avoiding me? does my withered face remind you of the grim spectre of death?" 06 - Axel Schystrom - this feels like it was designed in a lab with the sole purpose of going to AC but no further 07 - Les Gordons -
February 25, 20178 yr 01 - Wiktoria - As I Lay Me Down - The melody on this is properly incredible. This is giving me what I hoped Statements would be giving me in terms of an exciting pop sugar rush. I'm also getting attached to her vocal style, it's quite endearing actually. 02 - Jon Henrik feat. Aninia – En Värld Full Av Strider - what's better than Jag Ar Fri - a Jag Ar Fri duet with more aimless joiking. These are all very good things. 03 - Alice - Running With Lions - This is building so well and does sound like a modern dance hit in many ways, the good kind. It sounds like a doomed 5th, the top 5 in this heat is so good I know I'll be losing one so I just wish her all the best. 04 - Axel Schylström – När Ingen Ser - Much better than I expected it to be, it's quite the upbeat Swedish bop. I'm always pleasantly surprised when a Swedish pop male brings a listenable song and this is way more than that. Will be a good ACer. 05 - Loreen - Statements - SORRY GUYS, it sounds pretty good, I'm just not fully on board yet in comparison to the rest of this heat and I don't want to give her a free pass to the top of my rankings just because Euphoria was the best thing ever back in 2012. It doesn't sound like a winner to me, it also sounds like her voice has strained a bit on some of these notes. I'm withholding full judgement until I see the performance and it might be a grower but as things stand I'm not blown away like I was with My Heart Is Refusing Me or Euphoria. 06 - Sara Varga & Juha Mulari – Du Får Inte Ändra På Mig - Goes basically nowhere but it's pleasant enough. 07 - Les Gordons – Bound To Fall - and this is this year's version of State Of Drama? I am disappointed. No edge, dull song and while it's slightly me so I have some affinity towards it I'd be quite happy to see it go out and turn my attention to Dismissed to save Melfest rock for this year. That may not have been the best but at least they sounded like they were enjoying themselves.
February 25, 20178 yr 03 - Alice - Running With Lions - This is building so well and does sound like a modern dance hit in many ways, the good kind. February 25, 20178 yr Wiktoria's song is so good. It's like the sort of modern but not trend-chasing pop that I'd want Steps to record on a new studio album (she looks a bit like a young Faye Tozer too!) It sonically reminds me of Fun. too, particularly the verses. Loreen's is a masterpiece, I'm not sure if I trust Sweden to send something so 'out there' to Eurovision though, but it would do very well for her if it was selected. So different to Euphoria of course (to even more of an extent than Lena's Taken By A Stranger was different to Satellite), but that's a good thing as I'm glad she's not just gone down the derivative route. I don't know if it would win Eurovision but it would do a hundred times better than Nano's Hold On! Running By Lions didn't particularly catch my ear on first listen, it's like a generic BJSC entry. I like the Sara Varga song, but could do without the guy's parts. Not as good as Spring For Livet though and will clearly be out straight away. It is better than Charlotte Perrelli's effort though. I like Aninia's parts on the Jon Henrik track, which thankfully make up the majority of song - and the key change - but Jon himself is like a backing vocalist on his own song and I'm not sure why he felt compelled to return to sing this track. I'm sure it will make AC but I do hope it doesn't go DTF. Les Gordons...what is the point of this wasting a space in the semi, especially with only 28 spots these days. It's like a landfill indie UK #28 UK hit from 2007, I hope it comes last. As if Sweden would ever send something as dated, tuneless and irrelevant. Did not expect Axel to turn up with a song like this at all! This could definitely go to AC I think! Predictions: DTF: Wiktoria/Loreen (praying) AC: Jon Henrik/Axel 5th: Alice 6th: Sara Varga 7th: Les Gordons Jon Henrik could take one of the final spots I suppose, if Sweden lose their minds this eveining. And Alice could go to AC over Axel, judging by the genrep reaction, I thought his song would have been a lot more popular with that audience. Sara and Les Gordons are interchangeable but the latter is just crap.
February 25, 20178 yr 01 Loreen - I've given all my hyperbole but yeah f***ING INCRED 02 Wiktoria - Absolute bop and I'd have qualms seeing this win the whole thing if it wasn't for Loreen being a surefire eurovision winner and so f***ing incred 03 Alice - this so would have been a one hit wonder for a Lidl version of Shontelle in 2011, the Stargate comparison is spot on  04 Axel - A v enjoyable bop :o ----huge gap------ 05 Les Gordons - ok for what it is I suppose. 06 Jon Henrik - just not my thing at all 07 Sara Varga - Predix: Direkt Loreen, Wiktoria AC Jon Henrik, Axel 5th Alice 6th Les Gordons 7th Sara Varga As much as I'm stanning and living for Loreen, I would not be mad if it was Wiktoria she lost the win to. If it's Nano tho I will go f***ing apeshit 06 - Axel Schystrom - this feels like it was designed in a lab with the sole purpose of going to AC but no further Spot on, exactly what I thought as a succinct description of it  It is a bop though.

February 25, 20178 yr All the studio versions are out tonight, right? The CD must be out soon too, I shall pick it up in Stockholm *.* (And last year's...which I never got around to buying oops)

February 25, 20178 yr okay i could understand her not being first but this ranking is TRANSPARENT ATTENTION SEEKING When would I do that? And I'm sticking with it - probably until tonight when her live performance is better than those two. I just ranked on how much I enjoyed the studio versions on first listen and they end up ahead with Statements close behind.
