March 6, 20178 yr Trolls is fab and should be higher <3 Star Wars should probs also be top 5! Deadpool should be lower and good riddance to those two finishing joint last with no votes. The Girl On The Train because it was shit and X-Men: Apocalypse because it is still such a wtf nomination. If you guys want the final 5 tonight, I need a couple of comments now!! <3
March 6, 20178 yr No real surprises so far but for me X-Men:Apocalypse was one of the worst films of the year. Girl On The Train deserves better simply because of Emily Blunt if nothing else. Still Arrival 1st and Cloverfield in 2nd. (On a complete tangent, any fans of best actress winner Mary Elizabeth Winstead should really watch the tv show Braindead. It's brilliant and she's great in it)
March 6, 20178 yr http://i67.tinypic.com/uc1h3.jpg 5th - FINDING DORY (1 / 2) And I can reveal 6th place was the last tie :o After winning last year with 'Inside Out', Pixar fail to win here again as Finding Dory finishes 5th and is only the 2nd highest animated flick! The film was a box office monster and received good reviews from critics! I personally found it adorable and nostalgic and I am delighted it has achieved a top 5 finish here! <3 Ellen DeGeneres is perfect as usual and the new characters are all fab, and I love the plot! Another Pixar triumph *.* <3 Best Film Results: 1st - TBA 2nd - TBA 3rd - TBA 4th - TBA 5th - Finding Dory (1 / 2) 6th - Deadpool (1 / 1) 6th - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (1 / 1) 8th - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (0 / 1) 8th - Trolls (0 / 1) 10th - The Girl On the Train (0 / 0) 10th - X-Men: Apocalypse (0 / 0)
March 6, 20178 yr I do find Finding Dory a little disappointing, it wasn't anywhere near as good as the original. It had some fun moments (Ellen DeGeneres is amazing and I loved the Sigourney Weaver thing too) but there were better animated movies last year imo. I'd rather Moana, Kubo, Sausage Party etc. be here instead!
March 6, 20178 yr http://i65.tinypic.com/2ltlls8.jpg 4th - 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (2 / 2) A little bit of a shocker here I think :o Despite widespread critical acclaim on here and achieving the most nominations, it is the end of the road for 10 Cloverfield Lane which has already picked up some wins tonight! 10CL was a shock sequel with nothing known about until a couple of months before release and it turned into one of the critical and box office surprises of the year due to an incredible script (written by the same writer as next year's Best Picture Winner here, because yh La La Land better win this next year or I'm having a breakdown), fantastic performances (with Mary Elizabeth Winstead winning here and John Goodman coming very close!) and a great and intriguing plot! A shockingly fantastic film and one deserving of the acclaim that Buzzjack has showered it with <3 Arrival v. Captain America: Civil War v. Zootropolis? Who's got Bronze? Best Film Results: 1st - TBA 2nd - TBA 3rd - TBA 4th - 10 Cloverfield Lane (2 / 2) 5th - Finding Dory (1 / 2) 6th - Deadpool (1 / 1) 6th - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (1 / 1) 8th - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (0 / 1) 8th - Trolls (0 / 1) 10th - The Girl On the Train (0 / 0) 10th - X-Men: Apocalypse (0 / 0)
March 6, 20178 yr http://i.imgur.com/9cYOgfW.jpg 3rd - CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2 / 4) Kicking off our top 3 and taking the bronze medal is 2016's Marvel Superhero's fight-off in Avengers Part 75 Captain America: Civil War. Which was a good film but not one I'd have anywhere near my top 3 films of the year, though I guess that's more to do with my general superhero movie lull at the moment as I find most of them so similar/overhyped (I think Guardians Of The Galaxy is the only one I have adored since the start of 2013 so the sequel BETTER live up to that!). This was still a good film though and the airport scene was fabulous and I do love some of these characters (Black Widow & Spider-Man *.*). Good film but yeah a bit too high for my liking (though at least it beat Deadpool/Girl On The Train! and probs Fantastic Beasts as well as I haven't seen that!) Best Film Results: 1st - TBA 2nd - TBA 3rd - Captain America: Civil War (2 / 4) 4th - 10 Cloverfield Lane (2 / 2) 5th - Finding Dory (1 / 2) 6th - Deadpool (1 / 1) 6th - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (1 / 1) 8th - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (0 / 1) 8th - Trolls (0 / 1) 10th - The Girl On the Train (0 / 0) 10th - X-Men: Apocalypse (0 / 0)
March 6, 20178 yr Zootropolis for me. But Arrival has been getting lots of praise from critics, from what I've seen on Best Movies of 2016 videos on YouTube.
March 6, 20178 yr I was shocked at how well Cap did here actually but it seems to be a massive crowd-pleaser! Perhaps they could get multiple Best Film noms here next year with their three efforts, I'm so hyped for them all!!
March 6, 20178 yr http://i65.tinypic.com/2yl2o0j.jpg 2nd - ZOOTROPOLIS (3 / 1) And I believe for the 2nd year in a row, my favourite film of 2016 has come in 2nd place (following Brooklyn last year!) (don't you dare do this to be me with La La Land next year!!). Zootropolis is an absolutely incredible animated film which I saw once in cinemas and about 500 times on Sky Movies over the Christmas break and it held up fantabulously on every single re-watch <3 The characters of Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde are fantastic, both incredible animated creations and the side-cast is full of adorable and fun animals, most notably of course the scene-stealing 'Flash' which got me hyped for the movie ever since the trailer premiered! Though while this film has a great plot and is adorable, it is also one of the most important films of 2016 with an incredible message in the film that really brings Zootropolis up to a whole new level! Also the world they created is amazing and 'Try Everything' is an anthem *.* what a triumph <3 Best Film Results: 1st - TBA 2nd - Zootropolis (3 / 1) 3rd - Captain America: Civil War (2 / 4) 4th - 10 Cloverfield Lane (2 / 2) 5th - Finding Dory (1 / 2) 6th - Deadpool (1 / 1) 6th - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (1 / 1) 8th - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (0 / 1) 8th - Trolls (0 / 1) 10th - The Girl On the Train (0 / 0) 10th - X-Men: Apocalypse (0 / 0) http://i68.tinypic.com/33jmyr8.jpg 1st - ARRIVAL (5 / 0) And taking reversal from last year (where the animated Disney flick beat the Oscar Best Picture nominee), Arrival wins quite comfortably here with 5 first preferences votes (2 more than Zootropolis!) and adds to its resounding winning tally tonight which has been on fire! Proving to be a juggernaut here, this is Arrival's 6th win minimum I think tonight and gosh it deserves basically all of them! An incredible film which hits in every single area, from a fantastic script which twists and turns to Amy Adams stunning lead performance which deserved an Oscar Nomination to the great visual effects, Arrival was easily in my top 5 films of 2016 and is such a worthy winner of this award! Especially considering how popular it is on here! Well done Arrival <3 And thanks to everyone who has voted and commented and see you next year! <3 Best Film: Final Results Results: 1st - Arrival (5 / 0) 2nd - Zootropolis (3 / 1) 3rd - Captain America: Civil War (2 / 4) 4th - 10 Cloverfield Lane (2 / 2) 5th - Finding Dory (1 / 2) 6th - Deadpool (1 / 1) 6th - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (1 / 1) 8th - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (0 / 1) 8th - Trolls (0 / 1) 10th - The Girl On the Train (0 / 0) 10th - X-Men: Apocalypse (0 / 0)

March 6, 20178 yr So Arrival is now the biggest all-time winner as Inside Out picked up 5 wins (1 less than Arrival) last year! Also due to the nomination change-over, we match 0 to 4 with the official Oscar winners in the acting categories! Though last year we matched 4/4 :o (though Alicia albeit won for Ex_Machina with Danish Girl coming 2nd in the same category!). Wonder how this year's Oscar winners will do at next year's ceremony?!
March 6, 20178 yr Definitely can't fault the winner at all as much as it has dominated, should hopefully go down as a classic of it's genre, the entire top 3 are fantastic (and I've seen them all woop) all great in very different ways. Big thanks to the mods for all the work that went into this and the great commentaries from everyone too ;o Has definitely got me in the mood to catch up on some of last year's films that I missed.
March 7, 20178 yr I can't comment on the winner but Zootropilis is wonderful! Such a great animated movie highly recommend it!
March 7, 20178 yr A great winner there, it has one of the best twists in a film I've seen in ages and the acting was great too. Zootropolis was fun too and I liked the social commentary but the film wasn't the most thrilling for me. Extra bonus points for Flash though  Cheers everyone!!
