October 12, 200618 yr I don't see why McLaren was appointed ahead of Hiddink, O'Neill, Curbishly, Taylor and Alladyce anyway. All he's really achieved in what 4-5 years at Middlesbrough was an incredibly LUCKY Uefa Cup run and a League Cup. They've never been that good in the League. He's never been a good manager and has to go or Israel and Croatia WILL be at Euro 2008. When was the last time you can say England actually played really convincingly in a competitive fixture? For me, it was against Croatia in EURO 2004! That's how awful we were. The game against Andorra last month was good and convincing, yes. But we should've beat them comfortably with only using players from the Championship! well if the FA could calm down and have waited til after the World Cup we would have Scolari :arrr:
October 12, 200618 yr well if the FA could calm down and have waited til after the World Cup we would have Scolari :arrr: Im glad we didn't appoint him. He's a good manager yes but I don't like his tactics and everything. The best manager England could get is Arsene Wenger but I highly doubt that will happen but I reckon he will quite Arsenal within the next couple of years so you never know.
October 12, 200618 yr Im glad we didn't appoint him. He's a good manager yes but I don't like his tactics and everything. What, you prefer McClaren and Sven's 'tactics' which saw England totally humiliated last night and rendered mediocre during their World Cup campaign in Germany.....? Say what you like about Scholari, he actually inspires his players...

Say what you like about Scholari, he actually inspires his players... I don't think Scolari would work well for England. He's a great manager but I really don't think he would work for England. His tactics are dirty and I still belive that in the England V Portugal match one of his tactics was to get Rooney sent off. I was hoping Martin O'Neill would take up the role as England manager but I don't think the FA liked him. -_-
October 12, 200618 yr i can't belive that we lost it was really dispointing we should do better next time.

October 12, 200618 yr not many tacticians can boast a world cup though :) Yeah I suppose your right, but I just don't feel Scolari would work. It would either work really well or would be a complete disaster, but I think a complete disaster is more likely. There are lots of big charchters in the England squad and I don't think them and Scolari would hit it off.

October 12, 200618 yr Well that was one of Sven's downfalls; he was too close to certain players, but to a ertain degre you have to have a close releationship with your players. I mean look at the situation when Craig Bellamy was at Newastle or Robbie Savage when John Toshack took over as Wales manager. Both players ended up either left the club or refused to play for their Country again and I ould see that happening with some like Rooney if Scolari was manager.
October 13, 200618 yr I'd hate Scolari as manager, I just think he's a prick. The really annoying thing is that O'Neill publically said he wanted the job but the FA never offered it to him :manson:
October 13, 200618 yr It would either work really well or would be a complete disaster, but I think a complete disaster is more likely. What, an even bigger disaster than Wednesday night....? I Don't think that's really possible, do you???? I agree with MConner though, quite disgraceful to pass up on O'Neill....
October 13, 200618 yr What, an even bigger disaster than Wednesday night....? I Don't think that's really possible, do you???? I agree with MConner though, quite disgraceful to pass up on O'Neill.... Far worse things could happen than what happened on Wednesday. I mean Croatia are a decent team and are no mugs. The Northern Ireland defat was tons worse than the Croatia defeat.
October 13, 200618 yr McLaren resign! I'm quite glad Croatia won. We didn't deserve to win, go Croatia!    Ooh well done Croatia. ^_^ Have been my second team since 1998. I love them and the country. And after England's luck in the World Cup and Croatia's unluckiness I'm pleased for em.    Thanks guys! That's so nice... I didn't watch the match...was here having a laugh with the RW gang... Too bad I didn't see it... But it's very nice to hear such kind words from you!
October 13, 200618 yr Croatia turned up & played football, while England didn't, it is as simple as that. Despite "Misses" Robinson fluke divot goal. Croatia richly deserved to win & 4-0 would not have flattered them. Right now, I'm actively considering supporting who ever is playing England, until the FA wake up & dismiss Steve "McClown". But I'm really angriest with the appropriately named FA for missing out on appointing the best man for the job - Martin O'Neill.
