The ones I put an asterisk next to are either Christmas albums or were being heavily propped up by casual physical sales for gifts which both vanish in this week's chart for obvious reasons. Quite a few of the others would also have been propped up by gift sales to some extent (probably not huge numbers, but the gaps between positions this low down the chart are pretty small anyway so it still makes the difference). And in any case, quite a few of these are only just behind Ella in the update (the update's #40-44 are all on that list).

TL;DR she's mostly climbing because of other albums dropping, not her own album getting any significant increase. Due to aforementioned fact that its sales are being driven by the long tail streams of a ton of old hits which are not going to change much from week to week.

Looking at those I guess there’s was always that chance it’s rise once the Christmas albums left. Surprised to see it pass a lot of others though.

#21 for Crazy What Love Can Do

#55 for 21 Reasons

On the UK end of year singles chart. A pretty decent result I think.

Good week for the album.

Tbh 2 collab singles have done well. The core album overall lacked identity, was confused and has done pretty poorly.

I don’t think we’ll see another Ella album for years.

Not trying to be negative, just keeping it real.

Its likely we wont get a new album for a long time and Everything i didn't say while good wasn't strong enough to make her stand out considering how long the gap was from her first album. The collabs have done well for and kept her name out there and considering the long delays, the record labels issues she is doing ok all things considered. As many have said, Ella doesnt seem to know where she is at musically as the singles have been very varied and long term she needs to have her own identity. Hopefully things can keep going for her as some of the singles she has been part of have been big hits last year and also lets go home together the year before.
It's been 9 years. I think at this point in her career she's past being able to carve out a (commercial/mainstream) identity like she might have had at the beginning, aside from being a rent-a-vocalist.

Probably true, but at 26 she has to look ahead and needs a focus.

She seemed to have had a genuine interest in RnB, Soul which has just dissipated as she chased more commercial success. She seems to have no roots now. The latest album even has Country twangs - no idea where that came from!

It may be best for her to reset and do small intimate (probably London based) gigs to sort her musical identity out and hone her craft, maybe just her and piano.

Things do seem all over the place.

It seems she likes the more RnB, piano type music but the general pub,I care only interested are the dance stuff.

Hopefully another 2k this week for the album as its 42 in todays mids, i think that should put the album on around 30k.

Agreed, though it looks like she’s on holiday at the according to her Instagram.

She’s also engaged!! Which is great news.

That’s great. A new single or even an offical mega mix would’ve helped with this I think.

We never got that mega mix did we?

There's really no reason to expect it to leave any time soon, it's being buoyed by streams of songs which are firmly in their long tail at this point. Are we really going to bump this thread with its position every week?
