It's also to do with the fact that they didn't playlist her last couple of singles - people assumed that meant that they were done with her, which wasn't an unreasonable assumption in this case, but I'm glad I've been proved wrong. I hope they give her next era a chance too, as long as she produces the quality.

Yes I know that's why people assumed she wasn't playlisted, I just meant the explanation for that wasn't 'impact dates'. Radios work to impact dates a lot less these days anyway.

It is strange that Kendrick is off so soon - top 10 for a song like that is great so think it deserved longer in the A list, esp considering stations like Capital don't support it!

It's pointless working to impact dates with first single releases imo especially ones that shoot straight into the top 10!

Yeah, I think impact weeks are used more for post-album singles these days. With on air singles it's pretty much good to get as much support off the bat as possible.

Yeh preferably high playlist entries (depending on the artist/largeness of the release)!

surprised Galway Girl is off, also do we reckon they're gonna snub Despacito? sure they cannot ignore its popularity and it has Bieber on the remix

I was told Galway Girl had the most radio complaints on Capital since Marvin Gaye, so maybe that's why Radio 1 took it off slightly earlier than they usually would.

Oh seriously... people need to get a life. I don't understand why Capital listeners are so offended, there's nothing lyrically offensive about it.:drama:

They were clearly reluctant to add Gaga seeing as though she's been struggling for a while now, so I assume they wanted to see how The Cure held up before they added it to their playlist. SO happy, though!

Complaints about what exactly?? What's offensive about it?

Basically that it's annoying. Usually it's novelty songs like Selfie and Gangnam Style that get the most complaints but every now and then 'normal songs' get listener complaints for stations 'playing it too much' if there's something really cheesy and jarring as part of the song.

I can only assume these people REALLY have nothing better to do lmao

We're talking about Capital Fm listeners so that was the case in the first place anyway.
