And oh yeah we best get back on topic now. I don't actually know to be honest. :o Might be a while though. :(

Damn.

Typical, that is. One of my favourite new bands is being hailed by a radio station... and it's not even a british one <_<

Have you noticed that the Arctic Monkeys don't really get any airplay (on tv and radio) compared to most chart-topping acts? I mean 'Dancefloor' and 'Scummy' both got to no.1 having little or no airplay at all.

I just think its a shame

Yeah I know what you mean. They got a lot of play on Radio 1 though. ^_^ but your right both of the #1's didn't really get any TV airplay apart from MTV2 but TVFTA and LBTLCO were on the music channels quite a bit. :o

Do you think that's the reason that LBTLCO didn't chart as highly as IBYLGOTDF and WTSGD? Because of ridiculous airplay?

Nah. I didn't think LBTLCO was too bad but I mean I guess a lot of people would have thought the track would have being on the album.

It should have been on the album, imo. Suits the style of the rest of the album

It does suit the album, but I just can't imagine it being on the album. Maybe its just cause i've listened to the album so much that I really wouldn't like the structure of the album changed at all. But yeah I hope it isn't put on their new album, and I hope it just goes down as a stand alone single. ^_^

I'm not so sure.

I mean, if the new album does turn out to be a disappointment (touch wood it doesn't), I would like at least a couple of songs that I like / can listen to on it, so that's one benefit at least of having LBTLCO on the new album... even if it is half a year old by that time

I'd probably like the album a lot less if LBTLCO was on it. When new albums are coming out from artists I normally always skip the first single they put out to promote the album. If LBTLCO it would be two tracks that i'd most likely have to skip. :(

I get your point

What sort of stuff are you expecting to hear on the new album? More of the same or do you expect them to have gone in a completely new direction?

I'm expecting it to be a bit different. Theres a topic somewhere in this forum about the band discussing how the new album will sound. :D I think its all good for a change, I mean some people might want carbon copy albums every album but I don't. -_- But I guess you can't please everyone and regardless of how the new album will sound some people won't like it. -_-

Precisely!

I have a feeling we're gonna see a repeat of what happened with The Killers' 'Sams Town'. AM will go for something different and fresh, and then all the haters will turn round and say "It's rubbish they're trying to be too much like __________". But then if it does end up sounding like WPSIATWIN, they'll just moan that it sounds the same!

I think the thing was with The Killers new album was that it was just $h!t to begin with (well for me personally it was) but then it grew on me. I hope that it is a good album though. :D They do have a lot of match though as their first album was minted. ^_^

Yeah, it's gonna be a bast*rd to follow up. But I think they can pull it off :)

Man, kinda makes me wish 2007 was now!

There are some quite good albums coming out in 2007. :o Yeah Arctic Monkeys, Jamie T, Hard-FI etc are all hoping to release their new albums sometime in 2007. ^_^

Never heard of Jamie T, but Hard-Fi and AM are must-buys in my book

There have been some really quality albums out this year as well!

AM, Razorlight, The Kooks, Snow Patrol, Keane, Kasabian, The Zutons and The Killers to name but a few! B)

Jamie T's pure genius. :D Yeah i'm expecting (and hoping) big things from him next year. His new single might be charting in the top 15 this week. :o I cannot wait for Hard-FI's album. :D

Oh yeah there have being some decent albums this year. I wasn't really keen on The Zutons album but I got it cheap so I don't really care. ^_^

That's the spirit!

The only album I was disappointed by this year was Embraces, but I wasn't expecting too much from them after the bore-fest that was 'Out Of Nothing'

I like/love/would marry if they were human the other albums i've bought this year

Yes, 2006 has been a good year for music :smoke:

I've been dissapointed with quite a few albums this year. :( I thought the Embrace album was pretty good when I first heard it but yeah now I think its a bit $h!tty. :(

Your right. 2006 has been a great year for music. :o and there are still some good albums to come out this year still. ^_^

Hmmm... having looked at the future releases list, The Ordinary Boys seems like the only one I would possibly buy.

But then it's the age-old question of "could I listen to an hour and a half of them?"

I'm thinking of getting; Robbie Williams, Oasis, Jamiroqui, Radio 1 Live Lounge and Damien Rice. I'm unsure about The Ordinary Boys albim as well the album cover puts me off a little. :(
