If WTSMG's sales are that low, then the sales/positions of other albums on last year all time list must be wrong as well.

A few from The Eighties:

Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair

Duran Duran - Rio

Culture Club - Colour By Numbers

Adam And The Ants - Kings Of The Wild Frontier

Along with Madonna seems like the Eighties was a time when the second Album was a chance to build on a successful Debut Album and push for global success with the second.

Newer artists in the 80s generally seemed to start lower and the second albums singles debuted higher if they were good as they had an it if a fanbase - most Queen/Bowie/The Jam singles in the early 80s debuted top 10!

Didn't Emma Bunton sell more copies of Free Me than A Girl Like Me

It's still a travesty that Rachel Stevens didn't outsell Funky Dory with Come And Get It

I'm surprised Olly Murs isn't on this list. Still the only former X Factor star to sell more copies of their second album than their debut.

She did indeed. Love 'Free Me', such a beautiful album. I always thought 'Funky Dory' got a bad rep TBH. The original version (i.e. without Some Girls and that travesty of a cover of More More More) is a fine album, some good tracks on it that I still enjoy. But most albums sound less strong next to 'Come and Get It', but then albums like that are one offs.

And then went even bigger with album 3.

Joe McElderry managed this feat too I believe!
