What non-English language will we see at #1 in 2022 or even 2027?

I can see David Guetta still being around but I can't see him ever getting another #1. Same goes for Calvin Harris really.

Completely disagree about Calvin, 'Feels' is looking good for Top 3, so if/when he goes back to releasing a big banger, he could easily get another #1. Guetta definitely more unlikely but you never know.

"Feels" could yet make number 1.

I actually forgot about Feels completely while typing that post  Maybe Calvins career will continue on successfully then (I hope so tbh) but Guettas is definitely struggling
Guetta is 47... even though he is a DJ he's not immune to aging. Even Bieber can't get him top 3 hits now and things are going to get worse from this point on

Didn't fun split up?

Not sure what happened to Gotye

Is he working on the follow up to STIUTK?

He's always been super slow to release new music, his second album was 2006 and third wasn't until 2011. He's mostly been working with his other band, The Basics of late, but I feel like he'll put out a new album soon, though probably only Australia will care.

oh the next generation of music fans will react against the current lot of pop stars, that always happens, those that last have an older fanbase, so Adele and Sheeran are probably set for long-ish loyal older mostly-female fans on declining sales. Little Mix dont have that crossover older appeal (at least so far) so can only take a maturing existing core fanbase with them - though pop acts without songwriting talent tend to split up and be at the mercy of other songwriters and producers, and they tend to chase the next Big Thing and give them the best songs.

Coldplay have lasted by virtue of being the best rock band on the planet for 15 years. You don't have to like them, but there isn't any other band with that sort of anthemic consistency even close.

Of the new acts that have cropped up over the last 2 or 3 years? Errr, hard to say, the likes of Madonna, Kylie and george Michael appeared to be fairly unlikely longevity quality acts, but they all took control of their own musical career, so look to those that are doing that and not just following chart trends which will sound very dated 5 years from now. The chart pop music of 2016/17 sounds very much of its time, so my own guess is there will be a teen revolution in another couple of years and the mid-2010's sounds will be unlistenable till the nostalgia sets in amongst those who are currently teenagers sometime in the 2030's. Oops!
