Well, could be. Inherently I am against the concept of abstaining from a zero sum game being an effective protest. Israel get to walk away feeling they have overwhelming public support now, which can be used to shore up the narrative that those opposing are a vocal minority, bad faith actors etc.

Not at all surprised that Israel did well given that the anti-Israel contingent largely didn't watch or engage with the contest, as such, removing their potential diluting votes from the pool, meaning the Israel fans had essentially a clean sweep to dominate as long as they did a good performance.

You literally don't understand how trade works. This is just being confidently wrong. You go to a party and bring a crate of beers. Someone else has a crate of a different brand of beers. You each want to try one of each other's beers. According to your logic, swapping a beer each is some kind of grave error...

Its an exchange, not a 'give away'. This is literally how trade works. You may or may not be aware that the fish that swim in British waters are broadly not fish that British people like to eat, so keeping 'British fish' for the British public and refusing to sell them to nations that do eat them, in exchange losing access to European plentiful haddock, salmon and tuna, seems like a bit of an own goal.
