Frankly I've never understood the idea that Jewish people feel in some way personally attacked or threatened when the Israeli army is criticised for their actions. I'm white and that doesn't mean I feel personally attacked when someone criticises or expresses fear and disgust toward Ian Huntley or Harold Shipman. How reductive and smooth brained to equate critique of someone's actions while being a person with certain physical characteristics as being a critique of those characteristics. Ed is rich enough already. The statement was poor. He clearly didn't threaten the stadiums or the owner and he could have. If he is truly concerned about the wellbeing of the tech crew he can well afford to pay them out of his own pocket! As for Pink, what she said was stupid, but if that's her view, she's entitled to it. She didn't have veto power here like Ed did though which is why I critique him harsher in this instance. At least her statement showed where she stands honestly instead of making excuses.

Can't say I'm surprised, the BBC has been implicitly transphobic for some time now, regularly publishing articles that refer misleadingly or demeaningly to trans people and refusing to adjust them when people complain (as I have, more than once).

Plenty of the left is also chomping at the bit to destroy Burnham for not being perfect or magical enough from day 1 or for having to operate within the constraints of his position and the law of the country... I can only comment as myself of course but as a floating voter I feel like a lot of political commenters online (on twitter, in the media) don't seem to live in the real world or understand/address the undercurrents that inform how XYZ political figure is behaving.

As for respecting your elders, I have zero respect for stupid people. I wish leftwingers would stop trying to save everybody. Breaking multiple laws in full knowledge and laughing about it, with a side note of revealing Reform has been paying for polls with leading questions that have then been published in the papers as if the paper itself commissioned the research and asked neutral questions. This kind of corruption is off the scale.
