Posted July 24, 20177 yr Anyone watching this at the moment: First Round Draw Michael van Gerwen (1) v Stephen Bunting Simon Whitlock (16) v Kyle Anderson Phil Taylor (8) 10-5 Gerwyn Price Raymond van Barneveld (9) 10-8 Joe Cullen Dave Chisnall (5) 10-7 Mervyn King Kim Huybrechts (12) 6-10 Alan Norris Adrian Lewis (4) v Steve Beaton Ian White (13) v Rob Cross Gary Anderson (2) 10-7 Christian Kist Benito van de Pas (15) 9-11 Daryl Gurney Mensur Suljovic (7) 10-4 John Henderson Jelle Klaasen (10) 5-10 Justin Pipe James Wade (6) 11-13 Darren Webster Michael Smith (11) 5-10 Steve West Peter Wright (3) 10-8 James Wilson Robert Thornton (14) 3-10 Cristo Reyes Already we've seen Wade and Michael Smith go out.
July 25, 20177 yr Author Pleased that Bunting won a couple of legs (at least) against MvG. His performance - scoring-wise anyway - didn't deserved a whitewash.
July 25, 20177 yr This Rob Cross fella looks like a talent, beating veteran Ian White. About time we saw some new faces in the latter stages of majors!
July 26, 20177 yr That was a great match, I was amazed Gurney was able to play so well over the entire length of the game.
July 26, 20177 yr Author A somewhat disappointing match which was over hyped between The Power and Barney.
July 27, 20177 yr Author Quarter-Final Line-Up Michael van Gerwen v Phil Taylor Adrian Lewis v Alan Norris Daryl Gurney v Mensur Suljovic Peter Wright v Darren Webster I think MvG, Adrian Lewis, Suljovic (just) and Snakebite will all progress.
July 27, 20177 yr As much as I'm an MVG fan I would love Taylor to win this one last time, for sure the winner will come from that game for me unless Snakebite doesn't completely choke like he did in the last final against Van Gerwen... Alan Norris creeping up on the outside as a dark horse!
July 27, 20177 yr Author Wright and Gurney in the semis. Good performance in defeat from Darren Webster.
July 28, 20177 yr Author Phil Taylor at the moment, 8-2 up against MvG. MvG could come back and won possibly 16-13. We'll shall see.
July 28, 20177 yr I can't remember ever seeing MVG play so poorly & miss so many doubles! Think he let the crowd get to him which is very out of character. An incredible scoreline really, go on The Power, win it now!
July 29, 20177 yr The Power really looks back to his unbeatable best this tournament. Always loved the Matchplay, special night for him tomorrow for what will hopefully be win number 99!
July 30, 20177 yr And it is the fairytale ending for the GOAT of Darts! First Federer at Wimbledon, now tonight :cheer: you can never keep a great sportsman down. Surely only a matter of time before Snakebite wins a major, played well this tournament again but no answers against The Power.
August 1, 20177 yr Author Love him or loath him... this week has been pretty special from Phil Taylor. One of the best wins of his career.
