'I'm starting from fresh': Mollie King claims her The Saturdays past has done little to train her for Strictly... as she flashes a peek of cleavage in flirty pink bra for Sixties-inspired shoot

 

She shot to fame as one-fifth of all-singing, all-dancing girl group The Saturdays.

But Mollie King, 30, revealed her musical background has done little to train her for her upcoming stint in Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking to 1883 magazine, the singer admitted she feels like she's 'starting from fresh' in the BBC One show and plans to practice for hours on end every day.

 

The blonde beauty, who sizzled in a series of skimpy retro outfits for the nostalgic Sixties-inspired shoot, opened up about her outlook on Strictly.

'I'm taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, I'm so, so excited. I can't wait to learn all the dances and see who my dance partner is and just throw myself into it,' she said.

 

'I love dancing. I haven't been trained so I'm starting from fresh. But I'm just gonna put in as many hours in the day as possible and really try to learn as much as I possibly can.'

The star caused quite the stir during the glitzy Strictly Come Dancing launch night on Monday, joking that her twerking moves could put Beyonce to shame.

 

The 30-year-old beauty stole the limelight in a decadent yellow minidress dripping in sequins and tassels as she shimmied her way down the red carpet.

She was hard to miss in the eye-catching dress as she grooved along to the music with her hands up in the air.

Meanwhile, Mollie, whose new single Hair Down is released this Friday, talked about music being the main focus in her life.

 

'Music is my number one love. It seems like the right thing to carry on and do it solo. I've been in the studio for nearly two years now and can't wait to release Hair Down,' she said.

'It's really up-beat, gets you on the dancefloor – you will not be able to help but dance to it, so I can't wait for everyone to hear it.'

She also revealed that combining music and fashion is one of her biggest ambitions.

 

'I love to be busy, I don't have a lot of time off. Music feels like my first love and fashion is a passion I'd like to have on the other side,' the singer admitted.

'I think they work together quite well. I love to work with stylists and great make-up and hair artists, so I've got a great team around me.'

It comes as Mollie recently opened up about her heartache over her model ex David Gandy, 37, who she dated on and off for five years.

'We were very much in love, but it had come to that point where we felt like we had given this everything but it just wasn't going to work,' she told Fabulous magazine.

'Until both of us had got to that point, I don't think it would have been something we would've been able to walk away from.

Mollie, who was once linked to Prince Harry, added: 'When you're in love with somebody, obviously you're going to go through that heartbreak if you split up. But I'm not in that place any more.'

The social media pages for Strictly are always hilarious, albeit unintentionally, for displaying what Richard Osman called 'the full rainbow of stupidity'. It always amuses me how many people get riled by popstars doing Strictly like they should be burned at the stake for doing so or having 'an unfair advantage' when pop and ballroom are wildly differing bedfellows.

 

I actually made a point a couple of years ago, just before the series when Jay McGuinness from The Wanted won it started of pointing several riled commenters in the general direction of The Wanted's videos, where their dancing was limited to leaping about on one leg in a disinterested fashion and looking a bit angry. Needless to say they shut up pretty quickly :D

Her partner is actually quite hot *.* they look like such a good match on her Insta story! I didn't get chance to catch the episode earlier but I'll watch it tomorrow - come on King!!!!! :cheer:

This is why Mollie is one of my favourites - so down to earth and shes so supportive of the other girls, plugging Frankie's spot on the show from 2014, I see what ya did there ;)

Loving all the Instagram updates Mollie has been sharing of herself in rehearsals! I do wonder if Frankie will be there on opening night to support both Mollie and Kevin :thinking:

 

On that note, Una has ruled out taking part in Strictly because dancing isn't her strong point:

She was pretty good, got 23/40 and a 7 from the new judge which is one of her highest scores!! I enjoyed the routine, not just for Mollie though xx

Why are people spelling her name Molly?

I thought she did decently. Great legs, actually, much better than I expected it. But the judges were right, her arms were all over the top. It's weird because by the "First steps" video they did on her, she was asking questions about "what her arms, hands, fingers should be doing", so I thought she would have a bit more control on that.

 

Two 4s was underscored, though. Two 5s would have been more like it, but then you could argue that the 7 might have been a bit slightly too high as well I guess.

 

First out is ...erm, ridiculous, but unless she truly gets better each week and doesn't stale, I really can't see her winning it at all.

She won’t be first out. I can see her being about 4th out unless she drastically improves.

Nah, she's still one of the bookies favourites to win!

 

I think she will at least make the final six, judging by her name alone! Has hair down re entered the top 1,500 yet?

Yeah, I was talking about Craig's score anyway. That 4 should have been a 5 based on the scores he gave to other contestants, but one could argue the same about Shirley's 7, so that's that.
