Just announced this morning that the first longform kid's TV show for Saturday mornings in 7 years will air on BBC from September. It's called #SaturdayMashup, and will be hosted by Yasmin Evans (BBC 1Xtra DJ) and newcomer Jamie Nelson, along with Hacker T Dog from CBBC.

Would appear that this is gonna be found on CBBC only but nice to see the Beeb gain a foothold on this format again. Makes me slightly nostalgic for the days of Live and Kicking!

Kids of today have missed out on the days until now of Saturday morning TV. The excitement I had when Live & Kicking came on and swapping channels when SM:TV Live come on.

Good to see a Saturday morning kids TV show back. Whether it will work remains to be seen.

This is great to see. I remember catching some kids TV when I was younger, great memories and it feels as though CBBC is lifeless and uninspired these days so here's hoping it'll be fun and last more than a month.

Also, I've found the most boring fifty-something comment ever:

we need more cooking progs ,not this rubbish, they can whistle for their tv licence money this year,im selling my tv and buying a kodi box !

lol Saturday kitchen is on the other side if it bothers people.

Might check this out in the morning, for research purposes obvs.

Have to say...really good show this! Only thing I didn't care for was 'The Next Step' (need to get rid) or the performance by Yes Lad (why is there a boyband called this? Why?). Jonny and Yasmin are the perfect pair for this. Pixie Lott and The Vamps will be appearing on future shows!

Will catch up on this at some point in the week. Seen some good reviews of it so far, some comparing it to the madness of SM:tv Live!

JP Cooper will be performing on next week's show apparently.

More or less confirmed by both Jonny and Yasmin that this returns at the end of September for a second series. Bring on 'How Many Things In The Thing' again.

lol I managed to catch quite a bit of this on BBC Two last year, it was quite good. Good to see there are some fans here.

I could do with a bigger studio and less programmes though!

This re: less programmes broadcast within. Keep Danger Mouse, cause that's a strong core of the show and a really faithful update of the original. But 'The Next Step' needs to get in the bin.

Definitely an improvement so far!

The 'gunging on a toilet' jokes were a bit unexpected.
