Currently riding high on the 1Xtra and Capital XTRA playlists, in the Top 100 on Spotify and in the charts - this latest UK rap crossover anthem comes from previously unknown Hardy Caprio with this infectious banger 'Unsigned'. Another indicator that the sound of the streets this year has not been Grime, but in fact Afro/Caribbean influenced rap.

The last part of the chorus is the part that really sticks in my head! Recommended for those who have liked J Hus, Not3s, Kojo Funds and Yxng Bane this year.

This received a surprising addition to the R1 playlist this week, great to see them supporting songs like this!
would be nice if this could make its way into the top 40, sounding quite good on first listens (eventually got round to it the other day). not quite as catchy as some of the other UK rap hits we've been getting recently but I'll take it.
This is a proper tune!! Definitely reminds me quite a lot of J Hus, would love to see this be the next UK rap song to get properly big in the charts (the R1 playlisting is a good sign).

The guy who does the hook on this, One Acen, has dropped his new single this week on 1Xtra and it's another catchy effort in the vein of J Hus/Yxng Bane! The DJ said he should be aiming for Top 20 with this - a tad ambition but it would undeniably sit well on radio.

I've actually really enjoyed this the couple of times I've heard it on Radio 1 and Spotify! A very laidback sound in comparison to some of the other artists that you've mentioned in the OP but pretty much perfect for this time of year.

It's still climbing the Official Chart, 10 weeks so far between 70-45 (its peak last week), I can see it climbing into the top 40 next Friday!
