I don't think you can compare Friends to Taylor's upcoming single at all - Bieber's been present all year, there's hardly a craving for new material when he still has three songs in the top 40, whereas Taylor's not released anything new in a couple of years beyond the Zayn song (and I'd see it more as a Just Like Fire situation as opposed to Rise). It definitely depends on the song but I think it'd have to be VERY non-commercial to miss out...

People are talking about Taylor's return way more than Bieber's new single. The hype and curiosity is not even slightly comparable, at this point. This is approaching Hello levels. (Nobody will trump that though)

 

 

Taylor's snake video has more people taking than Bieber's release has at all. If the song is crap, it'll fall away after a week or so, but it's first week will be big no matter what.
