Posted September 11, 20177 yr 2cQEPAnKAHs Airing against The Missing writer's new BBC series 'Rellik' is a new drama by the writers of The Missing 'Liar'. Created and written by BAFTA- and Golden Globe-nominated producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams, Liar tells the story of a night that changes the lives of Laura Newell (Joanne Froggatt) and Andrew Ellis (Ioan Gruffudd) forever. Laura is a smart and dedicated teacher, not long out of a relationship and unsure about getting back on the dating scene. Andrew is a renowned surgeon whose son is a pupil at Laura’s school. An initial attraction leads to a date, but neither fully realises the far-reaching consequences that their meeting will have on each other or their families. Truth and consequences go hand in hand in a tense and gripping thriller that examines both sides of a relationship and both sides of the truth. Are there really two sides to every story? Liar explores the devastating cost of deceit on both the couple and their friends and family, as secrets and lies are laid bare… What that press release doesn't say is that it is about an alleged rape and the show will look at both sides of the story to help determine whether the rape occured or not... It is certainly topical and will no doubt prove controversial but it is set to provide a '21st century take on modern-day gender politics' as well as being a 'compellng emotional thriller'. 'Every truth has two sides; it is as well to look at both, before we commit to either.'
September 11, 20177 yr Good first episode. Lots of people tweeting that they think a third person was involved. Maybe he left and the ex boyfriend came back and raped her.
September 11, 20177 yr Airing against The Missing writer's new BBC series 'Rellik' is a new drama by the writers of The Missing 'Liar'. ?! - This confused me, I had to check IMDB and they did indeed write both 9pm drama premieres tonight! How unusual that they chose to be scheduled against each other. The first episode was good. I didn't like the introductory scenes and none of the characters seem immediately likeable. I like the premise though, I'm sure everyone's first impression of who the 'liar' is will be different, it's definitely an interesting concept to lead with.
September 28, 20177 yr I tried to watch this on catch up the other day, first episode was great, but the second episode turned off after 11minutes   this happened to anyone else?
October 10, 20177 yr I'm glad it's ending next week (?) so I'll see it though, but it's gone completely barmy.
October 10, 20177 yr Yeah things definitely got ridiculously intense last night but I have found it gripping as a whole
October 12, 20177 yr Yeah the fourth episode was great although Andrew makes me feel physically sick. The kidnap felt a bit ridiculous but hopefully the finale will be worth it.
October 15, 20177 yr She's stronger than she looks - dragging him from the car, to that building. I weigh twice what she does, and I'd struggle.
October 16, 20177 yr omg second series confirmed *.* Fantastic finale. Glad it's all been uncovered but where it goes from here will be interesting. Heard something the other day about a possibility of a prequel to the series happening. Edited October 16, 20177 yr by LewisTScream
October 16, 20177 yr Question there is a good looking young chap who I think is the son of the leading man from that trailer, Anyone know his name for educational purposes? (sorry for the slight off topic question)

October 19, 20177 yr Interesting use of time shift for the final episode but after the events of the previous two episodes, it was needed and it worked well. I'm glad that Laura has closure finally and they got the evidence lawfully but boo at killing Andrew off! I would guess that Mia killed him based on the phone call when Laura was in the shed? Interested to see where they go with a second series, prequel or sequel!
April 25, 20196 yr Katherine Kelly has joined the cast for Series 2! It picks up a few weeks directly after Andrew’s death
February 11, 20205 yr I think I really need to watch the first series of this again. I watched it at the time it aired but it’s been so long I’ve sort of forgotten almost every other character except from Andrew and the main character who Joanne Froggatt plays.

Can't remember much about it. The second series is a whodunit apparently. I vaguely remember the ending.
