October 19, 200618 yr Got this from Mercian.... I think it will be ok if I post it here  Miami, FL – MTV Latin America announced today that Mexican rock band Molotov will host “Los Premios MTV Latinoamerica 2006,†to take place on Thursday, October 19th (10pm). In a star-studded telecast to air from Mexico City’s Palacio de Los Deportes, International superstar Robbie Williams and electro-pop sensation Belanova will perform live, joining previously announced performers Nelly Furtado, Evanescence and top nominee Julieta Venegas. This year marks the first time that MTV Latin America’s annual award ceremony takes place outside Miami, since its premier in 2002, and Mexico will be the first Latin American country to host the event. “Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica†reflects the music and attitude of youth in Latin America today, and the show brings together a variety of regional Latin American pop and rock artists and international acts -- making it a truly unique music experience. The ‘Premios’ ceremony will air on MTV Latin America to more than 24 countries. In addition, it will be seen on MTV, MTV2 and MTV Tr3s in the US, reaching an additional 80 million households, and on various select broadcast stations throughout Latin America. "We love working with Molotov because they are completely unpredictable, which sets the tone for the entire show; even we won't know for sure what will happen, which is exactly the way we and the MTV audience like it," said Charlie Singer, Executive Vice President, Programming and Creative Strategy, MTV Networks Latin America and Executive Producer of ‘Los Premios MTV.’ "But we also love the combination a la Beauty and The Beast of Molotov and Ana de la Reguera; she is one of the most successful up and coming Latin American talents and a strong woman with a smart sense of humor, so she will certainly keep Molotov and the audience on their toes," added Singer. “It is great to have global superstars like Robbie Williams and future stars like Belanova performing at Los Premios MTV 2006,†commented José Tillán, Senior Vice President of Music Programming and Talent Strategy, MTV Networks Latin America. “The show promises to deliver a fun and irreverent evening to audiences around the world, combining the very best of Anglo and Latin talent,†added Tillán. Molotov, known for their dynamic energy and explosive performances, will provide a unique presentation for this year’s show as the first band to host an MTV award show. The band's vibrant mix of punk, metal, rap and funk together with their socio-political lyrics have made them a crossover success in the U.S. as well as in Europe. After years of touring in front of audiences from across the globe, Molotov broke records with their album, “Dance and Dense Denso,†garnering four Latin Grammy nominations and a win for ‘Best Rock Album of the Year’. With Gold and Platinum sales in various countries, including platinum sales in the U.S., Molotov’s fan base continues to grow across the board. Their last cover album, “Con Todo Respeto,†pays tribute to songs from the Beastie Boys, El Tri, Gill Scott Heron and ZZ Top, among other greats. Molotov’s four man lineup includes singer/guitarist Tito, bassists Mickey and Paco, and drummer Randy. Considered one of Mexico’s most prominent actresses, Ana de la Reguera made her Hollywood debut alongside costar Jack Black in this year’s internationally renowned comedy Nacho Libre. Her film career includes roles in Por La Libre (From Dust to Dust) and the box office hit Ladies’ Night, which garnered an MTV Movie Award Mexico for “Best Actress†and a co-starring role opposite Oscar nominee Kathy Jurado in Un Secreto de Esperanza (2002). In addition to her big screen projects, De la Reguera also endured small screen success with starring roles in soap operas that debuted on Telemundo in the US and Latin America, and also aired on International markets like the Ukraine and Spain. She’s currently filming Sultanes Del Sur with Argentine director Alejandro Lozano of Lemon Films. “Best International Artist†nominee, Robbie Williams, is set to electrify “Los Premios MTV†fresh off his new album, Rudebox. The album recorded in 2006 breaks out collaborations with an array of musical mavericks including The Pet Shop Boys, William Orbit, fellow Stoke natives Danny Spencer & Kelvin Andrews AKA Soul Mekanik and disco-house icon Joey Negro. The album’s first single of the same name is already in the Top 5 on the Latin American charts. Known for his bad boy image, Robbie’s international success since 1997 includes his album, Intensive Care, which sold 6 million copies worldwide and was the third best selling album in the UK in 2005 with 1.5 million copies. Robbie is currently on his sold out “Close Encounters†European tour and will begin the Latin American leg on October 10th. Rudebox is scheduled for worldwide release on October 23rd. Belanova is slated to perform a track from their sophomore album, Dulce Beat, which earned them four “Los Premios MTV†nominations including “Best Group/Duoâ€, “Best Artist-Northâ€, “Best Pop Artist†and “Artist of the Yearâ€. The double-platinum album is topping charts with hits “Me Pregunto†and “Por Tiâ€, which posted #1 on MTV’s “Top 20†in Mexico for 29 straight weeks. Their debut album, Cocktail, reached gold sales in international markets and locked a performance spot at the “2004 MTV VMALA Tour†in Guadalajara, Mexico. This year the trio is recording their third album and lending their voices for the Latin American release of the High School Musical soundtrack. This year’s show will include three new award categories, including “Song of the Year,†which honors the biggest songs of the past 12 months, and the “Breakthrough Artist†and “Most Promising Artist†awards, which emphasize MTV’s commitment to both developing and recognizing new talent.

October 20, 200618 yr Robbie headlines music awards A ROCKIN' concert headlined by Robbie Williams, Evanescence, Nelly Furtado and Shakira, has launched the MTV Awards Latin America in Mexico City. Mexican rock bank Molotov and actress Ana de la Reguera, who starred in the movie Nacho Libre are hosting the awards, currently airing live on MTV to an estimated world-wide audience of 215 million people. Despite her "sex goddess'" revival, Shakira received only one nomination for song of the year for Hips Don't Lie and was overshadowed by Tijuana native Julieta Venegas who topped the nominations, competing in six categories including best video, artist of the year and song of the year. Venegas' album Limon y Sal, (Lemon and Salt) also secured four Latin Grammy nominations. Previously held in Miami, the awards are the first to be celebrated in Latin America after the 2005 show, planned for the Caribbean resort of Playa del Carmen, was cancelled when Hurricane Wilma ravaged the area. MTV said fans voted for the nominees by casting more than five million votes on its web site and via text message. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y279/tc73/mtv1.jpg
October 20, 200618 yr Accordion player wins best singer award at MTV Latin America awards 680news.com http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,5280042,00.jpg MEXICO CITY (AP) - Colombian diva Shakira donned a flowing red and black dress for a mariachi trumpet-backed performance that got thousands of fans on their feet to open the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America 2006. British pop star Robbie Williams, who won for best international pop artist Thursday night, wore decidedly less - he pulled down his pants and bared his buttocks while performing "Rudebox" during the live show. It was not clear if producers used their three-minute delay to delete William's mooning. Shakira's brief appearance - notably devoid of hip-shaking - was followed by accordion-toting Julieta Venegas who joined up with Puerto Rican reggaeton sensation Daddy Yankee for a duet that closed the opening act with relatively tame fireworks. Basking in the success of her latest album, Venegas, a Tijuana native, took home the best singer award. She also competed in five other categories, including best video, artist of the year and song of the year. Venegas, who writes many of her songs, topped the nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards Latin America Thursday night in Mexico City, the first MTV Latin America awards show held outside the United States. Venegas, whose album "Limon y Sal" - "Lemon and Salt" - also garnered her four Latin Grammy nominations, won the 2004 Latin Grammy for best vocal rock album, "Si." "I'm thrilled, a little overwhelmed and happy about what is happening," Venegas recently told The Associated Press. Also nominated for video of the year are Puerto Rican duo Calle 13 for "Atrevete Te Te," Argentine rocker Gustavo Cerati for "Crimen," the Mexican rock band Mana for "Labios Compartidos" and Miranda!, a techno-pop band from Argentina, for "El Profe." Previously held in Miami, the awards last year were planned for the swanky Caribbean resort of Playa del Carmen, but had to be canceled when Hurricane Wilma ravaged the area. A crowd of some 10,000 packed the Palacio de los Deportes for the awards show hosted by irreverent rap band Molotov and Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera, who starred in the movie "Nacho Libre" and walked on stage doing a striptease. MTV organizers promised that Thursday's show, the fourth annual, would be a rocking concert headlined by Robbie Williams, Evanescence, Nelly Furtado and Shakira, who won on her single nomination for song of the year for "Hips Don't Lie." The Mexican pop-rock band Mana was honored with a legends award. MTV said the winners were chosen by fans who cast more than 5 million votes on its website and via text message. The show was expected to reach about 215 million people around the world, organizers said
October 20, 200618 yr The Williams puts on a wild show at the MTV Latin America Music Awards... mtv.co.uk http://www.mtv.co.uk/files/library/images/artist/robbie_williams/252/9.jpg Robbie Williams bared his bum and snogged a fan in a sensational display at the MTV Latin America Music Awards in Mexico last night (October 19). The singer, who took home the Best International Pop Artist gong, was performing his appropriately named tune 'Rudebox' when he grabbed his crotch, exposed his nipples and then decided to drop his kegs. With the crowd going wild at the sight of his not-at-all dimply derriere he then gabbed a fan in the front row of the audience and planted a smacker on her lips - and what started out as a (kind of) innocent peck soon turned into a full-on snog. If that wasn't enough the singer then shocked the audience with a cheeky acceptance speech as he picked up his special TONGUE-shaped award - "Thank you I would like to place this on your clitoris," he beamed. Blimey, good to see the Robster back to his ramped-up cheeky best.
October 20, 200618 yr The cheek of it Robbie! http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2006/10/robbie_228x324.jpg Robbie Williams was back to his cheeky self last night as he bared his bottom on stage at the MTV Latin America Awards in Mexico City. After performing on stage he set upon a very lucky girl. However, she might have been concerned about his intentions as seconds later he put his hand down his pants and bared his perfectly pert bottom on stage - before he snogged the fan. Performers at the star-studded bash weren't afraid to get their tongues out - in keeping with the shape of the gong which the winners received: a tongue with a stud in it. Not to be outdone by Robbie, Latino beauty Shakira made sure she was the top totty of the night by sporting two beautiful outfits - clearly picked to show off her best, erm, charms. Robbie might not agree, but a girl can never have enough clothes now, can she? Robbie Williams bagged the Best International Act award at the awards. Is'nt he getting a bit too old for that
October 20, 200618 yr I hate it when he does the tongue thing...that's just gross imo. Otherwise, ACE as usual!
October 20, 200618 yr Wow, I'm really happy that he won that award! :yahoo: The performance was good, but I'm a bit disappointed that he didn't do Lovelight -_-
